Our fifth-floor room was sharp and spacious. Bed and pillows were comfortable enough. We enjoyed the Club Lounge access (same floor!); it was an amazing amenity and absolutely worth it. One of the highlights was meeting onsite manager Gus completely by happenstance. He immediately elevated what was already a wonderful, customer-forward experience. It's not vacation unless I make a trip to the spa. And I am so grateful for my experience! I had a 100-minute massage with Joey, and my knots, adhesions, and trigger points were no match for her firm yet incredibly gentle hands. She took extra time and care with me, and I was especially touched by her compassion as we discussed some of my ongoing needs following breast cancer. After my massage, I had a 50-minute facial with Bree, and her hands were unbelievably therapeutic and relaxing. She listened carefully to my concerns and personalized the experience beautifully. The California Organic Facial using Eminence Organic Skin Care left my skin deeply hydrated, refreshed, and glowing. Five stars for the property, the setting, the service, and especially the people who made our stay so memorable. Gus, Joey, and Bree , thank you for making an already beautiful Tahoe experience truly exceptional. I would love to return!

If you're not into skiing and just want to enjoy some fall hiking and quiet hot tubs, I recommend booking in mid October. However, the gondola and most restaurants and shops are closed. We booked and three bed and three bath and really enjoyed the space. There is also a fully stocked kitchen, full size refrigerator and freezer, a washer and dryer, and plenty of common space. We could have stayed for a month and all been very comfortable. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is that the service was somewhat lacking. This could have been due to the off season, but we had an odd experience where cleaning staff entered our room accidentally, realized it was not an empty room, and left. However, they left our door wide open. We were gone for the day, so we don't know how long everything was open and if anyone else entered the room. Despite the issue with our room, we would happily stay here again. The cost for what you get makes it very worthwhile.

Between the many complimentary amenities and thoughtful touches, I felt the premium price was well worth it. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Alec at the front desk. He immediately offered us water, champagne, or apple juice, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. He was kind, personable, and genuinely enthusiastic as he shared everything the Hyatt has to offer. His excitement was contagious, and he made a wonderful first impression. The bell service was also excellent. They quickly unloaded our luggage upon arrival and made both check-in and check-out seamless. It was another thoughtful convenience that helped set the tone for a relaxing stay. We chose a first-floor room with a patio that opened directly to the pool area, and it ended up being one of the best decisions we made. It made going back and forth between the room and the pool incredibly easy, especially with children. Some of our favorite amenities and thoughtful touches included: The Hyatt provides cloth wristbands that serve as your room key, giving you access to your room, the pool, and other resort areas. This was one of our favorite features! We never had to worry about carrying a key card, and the wristbands stayed on comfortably throughout showers and swimming. Water refill stations are conveniently located throughout the resort. The casino is beautiful, clean, and well maintained. Lockers stocked with towels are located outside of the hotel for easy access when leaving for the beach. There are a couple of beautiful beaches just across the street, only a 2-3 minute walk away. The concierge service was outstanding. I can't remember the young man's name, but he helped us on Tuesday, August 4. If management knows who was working that day, please extend our sincere thanks. He explained the complimentary kayaking, directed us to the beach, and arranged shuttle transportation. His customer service was exceptional. Although the Hyatt beach is temporarily closed for construction, the resort has arranged access to nearby private beaches for guests. They also run a shuttle every few minutes, making it very easy to get around. If you're looking for a livelier atmosphere, the public beach is only a short drive away. The pools were wonderful. The main pool is heated to approximately 80-85°F and features a fun cave area. There's also a kiddie pool, plus separate hot tubs for adults and children. Poolside service was an added bonus. Every evening from 5:00-10:00 p.m., the resort provides complimentary s'mores kits that can be enjoyed in a fire pit near the pool area. This was such a fun family activity and one of those little touches that made the stay feel extra special. The café opens at 6:30 a.m., and if you order regular brewed coffee, you receive complimentary refills until 10:00 p.m. that evening, a great perk for coffee lovers. The only area that fell short for us was the food. Most of what we ordered was fairly heavy and greasy. To be fair, there is a Cyclospora outbreak in the US, so we chose not to order fresh salads, fruits, or vegetables out of an abundance of caution, which limited our options. The main restaurant "cutthroat saloon" had live music which made dinner enjoyable. There are plenty of excellent restaurants nearby, however, and we didn't get the opportunity to try Osteria Sierra, which may have been a better dining choice. My only other criticism involves one interaction with room service. After providing my room number, I asked if I could order room service, and the employee replied, "Well, that's why you called, didn't you?" It came across as unnecessarily sarcastic and unwelcoming. It was an isolated interaction, but it stood out because every other staff member we encountered was warm, friendly, and professional. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. The resort itself is beautiful, the amenities are outstanding, and the customer service especially from Alec at the front desk, the concierge, and the bell staff was exceptional. We would absolutely consider staying here again

Location & Grounds: The setting is incredible, well-maintained, and hard to beat. Units & Amenities: Unfortunately, the units haven't changed much over the years, especially considering what they charge. The sauna never seems to get hot enough, and I've always wondered why a hot tub has never been added, it would be a great improvement. We also found that basic supplies like toilet paper were very limited. This property has so much potential, and with some updates to the units and amenities, it could easily be a five-star experience. My entire family feels the same way. We love coming here and hope the owners invest in modernizing the accommodations to match the incredible location.

My family and I stayed at the GSR for 3 nights to attend a close family member's wedding -- the entire reason we made the trip to Reno. Here is what we encountered: The Room We arrived to a visibly dirty room that needed a thorough cleaning. There were stains on the furniture, walls, and bedding. No washcloths were available despite multiple requests to housekeeping -- they finally arrived on our last day, too late to be of any use. On our first night, a sticky substance on the bedding transferred to my clothing and permanently ruined both my pants and my belt. I have not been able to remove it despite multiple attempts. Pest & Safety Concerns We found a large unidentifiable bug in our room that we had to kill and dispose of ourselves. For the remaining nights of our stay we were uneasy and anxious about what else might be present while we slept. Marijuana Odors -- Every Single Day For all 3 days and nights, the hallways leading to our room reeked of strong marijuana. My 7-year-old son asked me about the smell every single time. No parent should have to have that conversation repeatedly because a hotel cannot enforce its own policies. Rude Guest Services When I called to request washcloths, instead of simply helping me, the agent chose to lecture me on the difference between a washcloth and a face cloth. It was condescending and completely unhelpful. The Pool -- And the Moment We Lost Forever At the pool, our server went on break and her replacement could not locate my payment card. The time we lost waiting caused us to leave late -- and we arrived at the wedding chapel just as guests were walking out. We missed our family member's wedding ceremony entirely. We had traveled to Reno for one reason, and because of this staff failure we did not get to witness it. That is something we will never be able to get back. Checkout & Aftermath When I raised all of these issues at the front desk before checking out, I was redirected, dismissed, and ultimately handed a business card with a vague promise that someone would follow up about my clothing. No apology. No acknowledgment of the bigger picture. No resolution. That was nearly 60 days ago. I have followed up in writing. I have heard nothing -- not a single word. I spent a significant amount of money at this property and was treated as though my concerns were an inconvenience. I would not recommend the GSR to anyone traveling with family, and especially not for any trip where something important is at stake. GSR -- my complaint is still open. You know how to reach me.

We really enjoyed our stay here and definitely will be back. Some things I enjoyed specifically about our room: Each room has its only heating and cooling system so you can control each area. The master baths bathtub is like the biggest tub I've ever seen. I loved how many lights I could dim. Both couches were pull out couches which made 4 sleeping areas if needed. The private parking right next to our elevator. The gondola lifts access right inside our lobby. The washer and dryer. Little bit of everything to make our stay comfortable such as extra towels, laundry soap plenty of extra bedding and toilet paper. My personal complaints: The bedding and pillows at our room were pretty cheap quality. Blankets and sheets were super stiff and uncomfortable pillows super flat. Didn't sleep well or fall asleep well. The bath tub and shower didn't work in the spare room. On Saturday night (I assume weekends the machines running right outside our balcony ran super late and pretty early. Typically I like some white noise but I can see how that would be very disturbing to others.) The hot tub on our site is completely shut down. There was an obnoxious amount of little tables everywhere I just ended up trying to pile everything in an area to make walking room Lastly there isn't any really good coffee at the entire resort I tried every spot including the coffee that was provided in our room. Overall great experience. Beautiful buildings. Friendly staff everywhere.

I have to put 1 star because I wasn't able to experience anything…read more Today I just put down my phone regarding to this reservation the 6th times. One village has been always been a place we wanted to try out, however they never made themselves available. We made this reservation more than a month ahead of time. Unfortunately I found out immediately I can not make it on that weekend and I was trying to cancel the reservation. Without luck trying everything on the website and apps, I called in. I was kicked between Hyatt Globalist hotline, One village office, Hyatt vacation club a few times. One time, I waited on line for more than an hour ending up being approved for a cancellation free of charge. I got an email address, I was informed that I need to send in my info and they will take care of the cancellation. Guess what? Two days later I got the response that there was no evidence or proof that they agreed that they will cancel it for me. Good point! How do I get evidence from customer calls? Does anyone record while they are calling with customer service? Ok, I called Hyatt again, they must have recorded it. I went through two levels of escalation, and got feedbacks that they will review the record. I am still waiting. There are 15 days till the reservation and I will see what more I need to do. Above is the whole situation, here's the take-away: - Horrible customer services. Instead of thinking for and trying to resolve problems for the guests, the only thing they did is to kick the balls around. No one is willing to take any extra miles to help. On the contrary, everyone was trying to escape from interacting. For at least three times in the call, I got transferred abruptly without even being notified. - One village place residences has very inflexible booking process. If you are not sure you are going, be careful. You will loose it all, once you click the button, and they don't care. - No leadership. It's obvious that Hyatt Vacation Club do not have a central decision making process. So everyone can make some decision and also no one can make it. That's why guests got kicked back and forth. Have you experienced being transferred 4 times on one customer service call? Each time is a full explanation, each time people just kicked balls. Now with this attitude, I have deep doubt that they will provide good hospitality and services on site as the whole team's mindset is not on how to care for guests. So my advice is, please avoid this place. Updated April 9th. Above was the comment I made previously and I got contacted by HVC customer service. Eventually they sent an email explaining how time sharing works and it's too late so they can not do anything. Here's the point I replied: - First of all it was too late because they kept kicking customer around for 6 times, 2 weeks without actually trying to take actions. - Secondly, it was apparent that Hyatt customer service promised that the reservation will be cancelled without penalty. The Hyatt customer service representative reprents Hyatt. If this is a mistake or misinformation. I am wondering why in all the later communication no one talked about to make up the mistakes that your representative made. And even more, Hyatt asked customer to provide evidence of communications ? - At last, what I am complaining about, is not just the fact that the cancellation can not be done, is the fact through this whole process, how messy and unorganized Hyatt's customer service communication was. I could feel in this whole process, the goal of every customer service was not to address customer's concerns but to pick up and hang off the phone without a trouble made to themselves.

Equipment is included for kids 8 and under (size 4 and under). Steal! At that price point, this is the perfect snow day with a group of kids. For anyone outside of that range, rentals are $59 flat, whether you stay two hours or all day. Go all day to maximize your rentals! That said, the kids play area was pretty underwhelming for my kids (ages 10-12). The slopes were short, not all lanes were open, and there was only one black magic carpet running. That meant tubers, snowboarders, and skiers were all sharing it, which slowed things down quite a bit. Getting around wasn't the easiest either. There's only one entrance and exit and into the resort, so you're walking everything in while the kids carry their gear. Not terrible, but definitely inconvenient. We were told there was a tram running every 5 minutes, but it wasn't operating that day. My guess is they scale back operations on discounted days (fewer lanes open, no tram, only one black magic carpet). Parking was easy for the only entrance, which I appreciated, but it would be so much better if there was direct access to the kids area from the lot. Service was subpar. Staff weren't rude, but definitely not warm or helpful. No one showed the kids how to put on their boots or gear, and we weren't told helmets were required until my kids were already at the top of the slope, so I had to go all the way back to rentals. Also worth noting: kids 8 and under are restricted to the kids area only (no lifts or bigger slopes), which makes sense, but that wasn't clearly communicated upfront. Overall, the kids still had fun, and for $35, it's worth it. But I would only come back on a discounted day. I wouldn't pay full price for the experience as it currently is.

On top of that once we finally got to the top, and sat down on the tube and started sliding, we got stuck all through out the slope all the way down pushing with our hands, and the kids couldn't even reach with their hand to push themselves down. What a disappointment!!!! Sooo expensive, besides our day was ruined, the kids were so sad and down because of it. I went to the reception to request our refund because we had to leave to try to find another place to go have fun if possible, they said they couldn't do the refund there but to email costumer service. So I did. As soon as we got to the car. The next day they answered and said since the adults area was not optimal they would refund me those tickets even though it was against policy, but the kids they wouldn't as their area was working fine. We didn't even use the kids area, we went to the adults area, all of us!! Besides, we're we supposed to let a couple kids have fun and not the others ?? Also, shouldn't you warn people about it before they purchase the tickets ???? Is this part of their scam ? And the material broken and not operational? A hazard even!!! What a inconsiderate thing to do from their part. Well, I said I wanted the full amount back and explained the situation over and over again, and a couple days later the refund for the adults tickets that she had refunded us, disappeared!!!!!
