I don't think I've ever come a cross a thrift store with this much versatility. Out of the Closet is serious about HIV/AIDS advocacy and they prove it by putting their money where their mouth is. Like many other thrift stores in Montrose, you can expect marked up (but still fair) prices compared to the larger ones with piles upon piles of clothes to sift through. 96% of all proceeds at this store, however, go toward supporting the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Free condoms are offered near the cashier counter; free HIV testing and a not-for-profit pharmacy sits in the back. The roots of thrifting inherently lie in supporting the community. This is usually accomplished through the affordability of everyday items, but this shop takes it to the next level by showing their dedication to safe sex and access to healthcare. My…read morecoworker talks about Little Depot every week in our meetings and she sent me a picture of a refrigerator for $500 so I decided to drive across town to see what the fuss is about. Let me tell you something..this store is HomeDpot 2.0 as in most everything in this store comes from Homedepot. They have appliances, tools, power tools, hot water heaters, dishwashers, tubs, light bulbs, rugs, everything at extremely discounted prices. I had to return the next day for the refrigerator because they do not hold items. The store hours on the website are wrong so I had to wait 2 hours before they opened I'm so thankful my handi guy was gracious to come back. They only accept tap or cash app, which I thought was weird. Receipts are emailed or texted. I asked to plug up the refrigerator to make sure it works before I left the store and they assured me all appliances are out the box and work fine but if I had any problems I could drive another 45 minutes back out there to return it, lol. I took a gamble and got it home, Plugged it in and it works great. I noticed several appliances had deep dents in them but were being sold at the same price which I disagree with. Some of the appliances also wobbled a little.

You can tell this is a privately owned one and usually pardon my ethnic naiveness but seem to be run by mideastern personnel. What does that have to do with the price of tea in China? These group of people usually are more diligent in up keeping the supply and demand in their stores. You will find everything and additional items you might not see at the other King dollar locations. What was the best deal that you cannot find in the other dollar stores as an example? A brick (10 packages to a box) of spearment gum. That's about 100 little pieces of square packaged gum for $1! I bought a box the week earlier to test out to see if the gum is ligit and yep it sure is. Oh, by the way, I came back and bought the last 18 boxes so you are stuck with the peppermint, better get to them while they last. (July period, 2013). This location is right by the eStar buffet that is always crowded. Parking for the times I have been there have been very ample but will be challengable at peak times with the buffet a few doors down. Not all stores carry the flourescent *sp* light bulbs anymore, not sure because of supply, but this place does carry them.
