We stopped here before going to a show at Kauffman Performing Arts Center and I'm glad we did. The fish tacos were more than decent and the patio was a nice place to sit and enjoy the vibes. The staff was quite helpful and attentive, which allowed us to simply enjoy our time. I can absolutely see us visiting again.

For a night when Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts was busy, our group of four managed to get in swiftly--we sat outside in the rear of the restaurant and it was fabulous! Not so loud, and not as windy since they have a canopy/tent back there. Our server was great; busy for sure and she managed her customers well. Food was outstanding: I had 2 à la carte chicken enchiladas -- since I was going back to the Kauffman, I didn't want leftovers, but still probably should have order just one! S much delicious food. Chips and salsa were good; I tried the spicy & found it too hot for me. Sadly, I didn't have the opportunity to snap more pics of the establishment or menu. I'd definitely go back!

This is a place I've always passed by, and I'm glad I finally stopped in! We stopped in here on a Friday night and were seated immediately. The inside is nothing special, but lots of tables without being cramped. The service was great and the food was quick. Everything we ate was delicious, I especially loved the chicken fajita burrito. The next time you pass by this restaurant, stop in!

I've always been curious about this place. I've driven by it ever since I moved here 16 years ago. I finally gave it a try, and I'm so glad I did! I used to feel intimidated about where to park. Street parking on Broadway is usually available after 6 PM or between 9 AM and 4 PM, but it's a bit limited. There is also a parking lot in the back, which seems to be for restaurant use only, just be sure to check the signs. The back patio is absolutely charming! There's this beautiful, lit-up tree that adds so much ambiance. If the weather is nice, I highly recommend dining outside alfresco. I ordered the carnitas, and wow they were incredibly tender, juicy, and full of flavor. I went with double rice instead of beans because I was heading next door to watch a movie at Stray Cat Film Center and didn't want to risk any bean-related regrets (iykyk!). Overall, it's a super great spot. Very busy and lively on a Friday night, which just added to the fun atmosphere. I really enjoyed it and will definitely be back!

I finally got the chance to try Los Tules on Broadway, and it did not disappoint! The food was yummy! I had a chimichanga, and my friend had enchiladas. We also shared an incredible dip with beans, cheese, red sauce, and chorizo. I can't remember the name, but it was very good! The drinks were just as impressive. I had a ruby red margarita, while my friend ordered a drink that we definitely should have split! I can't remember the name of the drink. The atmosphere was nice, and the service was good. I'd return!

This is the 5th Mexican restaurant I've been to in Kansas City and it's the first one i've actually liked. The margarita was delicious. The tostadas were great. The bean and rice were excellent. I thought the prices were very reasonable. The waitress was friendly. The atmosphere was very pleasant...until the football game came on and they cranked up the volume on the television, then it was time to go lol. But I'll definitely be back.

Overall, I had a decent experience. The table we were seated at was wobbly. The service was great but the drinks were mediocre. There was an after taste to the strawberry margaritas. The food was pretty good. I had the fajita plate and my fiance had the soft taco plate. The ambiance was decent enough but I felt like the meal was extremely overpriced for lunch.

Average Tex Mex style restaurant, with standard fajitas, enchiladas, burritos, tacos, plate options. Food was okay, and pricing was fair for Tex Mex, although personally I would prefer the multitude of taco shops or Mexican restaurants we have in the area instead. They had plenty of seating with a few outdoor tables. Food came out relatively quick, and our waitress was super friendly and helpful. Salsas weren't that spicy. There were some vegetarian options available. It's an okay place to take a group, but I wouldn't return by myself.

Don't pass up on Los Tules! This spot is great for late night eats and hangouts if you're in the area. This place gets a bad for a whole slew of reasons. Some say it's not authentic enough or good enough or the service is slow--look, Los Tules is not a fancy place, you seat yourself, and it gets busy at times, but there will be a table available at 9:30pm and they'll serve you some hot, juicy, crispy carnitas in a matter of minutes. You'll even get a beautiful view of the Kaufmann Center on your way in. The service can be slow at times if the place is absolutely packed, but it usually isn't. Here are the gotchas: - The food is somewhere between more authentic than K-Macho's and less authentic than most of the places on Southwest Blvd - The entrees can get spendy between the price and the 12% sales tax rate. I don't know why it's 12% either, but that's what we're working with. The price and varying quality of the entrees is the primary reason why I went for 3 stars rather than 4. - I would recommend sticking to the a-la-carte menu and avoiding the rice and beans, which aren't as high quality as one would hope. Overall, Los Tules isn't my first pick for Mexican food, but it's a solid pick for late night bites with a few friends.

Espinaca Dip was huge! Perfect for sharing

Happy hour House Margs until 8pm was a nice surprise when we walked in for dinner. Plenty of space for large parties so we didn't have to wait for a table. The house Marg was a little sweet for my taste and the salsa flavors felt more Italian than Mexican to me, but that's just one girl's opinion. We did have to ask for menus (odd) but the spinach dip and the green chili pork were both tasty. I'd come back for the cheese dip!

Lunch cheese enchiladas with beans and rice

As it was my first visit to Kansas City, I was surprised to see so many Mexican restaurants and was also excited to see so many Mexican restaurants. I was there for a conference, so we stopped here on our lunch break. It was your typical, hole in the wall Mexican place with brightly colored tables and classic Mexican fair. I had the Sangria (which was delightfully strong) and the cheese enchiladas. My only complaint is that their red sauce had been stewed with meat, which as a vegetarian, I was not expecting. To be fair, it wasn't listed as a vegetarian item, but this was the first time I've ever had meat in my enchilada sauce. Other than that, the food was good but not spicy, and the tortilla chips plentiful. If you're at the convention center for an event, this is a solid lunch spot.

Fantastic dinner!…read more Amazing food! I had Mole Enchilada with rice, and ordered seasonal vegetables as side. Our table also had table side guacamole and salsa and chips. That mole was amazing! I'll be back - the mole and guac makes my mouth water thinking about it. The Mole Enchilada with chicken was so delicious - deep flavor with juicy shredded chicken. The seasonal vegetables included broccolini, carrots, and asparagus - slightly crunchy, just the way I liked them cooked! I also had a La Chimosa cocktail - c a m a r e n a tequila blanco, l i m e, a g a v e, g r a p e f r u i t soda, passion fruit - pretty good. I enjoyed the ambiance - lots of beautiful art on the walls, subtle lighting, green plants, tasteful decorations, table lines, and relaxed atmosphere. We were there on a Monday night - it wasn't busy. It was a great place to go for our business group of five. Servers were friendly, especially the woman at the front as you entered. We had a nice chat while I waited for the rest of our table to arrive. They validated parking in the garage next door - so keep that in mind if street parking is unavailable. Pricing was what I would expect for this nice location. It was $$ to $$$ depending on what you ordered. I would definitely go back and recommend!

After the host "checked," he suddenly found a table and seated us, but his attitude felt dismissive and unwelcoming from the start. We began with chips and salsa, which were actually very good. We also ordered two café de olla lattes along with chilaquiles and the chorizo Benedict. Our drinks never arrived, and when our food was brought out, our server Santiago noticed and went to check. I asked him to cancel one latte and just bring the other, but it still took another 10 minutes to arrive. When it finally did, the cup was chipped, making it unsafe to drink from. The food itself was underwhelming--the eggs on the Benedict were overcooked instead of runny as they should be. On top of that, Santiago only checked on us once, and that was just to drop off the check. Overall, the service felt inattentive and the experience didn't match expectations. We left unsatisfied and likely won't be returning.

I just took a swing at it, picked up a menu, and stood there. It took a while for somebody to acknowledge that I was there. The person who took my order was super involved, which is cool, but they needed some help, and the person who came by to help them seemed to be rather impatient, so that was one of the first things I noticed. They do bring your food out in a reasonable amount of time, delivered to your table. You have a number that attaches to a metal wand that they give to you. So the water station is set up in the back, you get your own water, but they were out of cups. They had a really cool aesthetic to it, with like the garage door where you can see all the downtown. The only problem was that the sun went down, and it started to get rather cold. Nobody ever closed the door, but I ordered the Asada fries. 3/5 heavy on the seasoning, but not so much on the flavor, it came across. It's kind of salty. I thought it would be different than what it was. The portion size was fine, and the green sauce that they offer you on the side really makes it better. Also ordered the CHORI queso dip lied on the chorizo for the portion size. The flavor was also a three out of five. The chip that they give you with it has a nice, good texture and reasonable seasoning. My wife had the mushroom Tinga tacos. She gave him four out of five. She really enjoyed them. The atmosphere is cool. The weights staff are really cool. I'd consider coming back on a Thursday. They have this cool thing that you can try new and upcoming dishes, and then they also have brunch, so I'm thinking about giving them a second shot. If you've never been, you should come and see what your opinion is, but really cool aesthetics and great views.

Food: The food was good and had flavor, the presentation and portions were not bad. The starters were small so be sure to order multiples for larger groups. The fresh oysters were really good, the paella was really good and large in portion size great table shareable or as a entree. The cheese board had a really good variety of cheeses and crackers with some fruit. That was a nice little gem on the menu. They do serve alcohol but could be a little more consistency on the pours. Two of the same drinks tasted completely different and they do have a wine section. Service: The staff was nice and quickly provided seating for our large group of 10 people. Our waiter was great! He took orders checked on us and provided some really good feedback on menu items when asked. Thank you, Atmosphere: I love the decor! It was rustic with hand pai ted murals and gave a artistic vibe to our experience. However, I was not a fan of the metal tables, it felt to industrial and the tables were off balance as well. The size of the table were also interacting as they seemed really skinny and most likely ment for smaller groups like 2 people. The ceiling at La Bodega was the best part of the decor. It was such a great twist on smearing colors together. Price: Coming from Los Anegeles I thought the prices were right on targetand fit with the portion sizes. Location: It's located in Kansas City Mousori. Parking: We ubered to the restaurant but parking did look to be tight on the street side not sure if they have another lot in the back.
