You can easily spend a good amount of time perusing the wide variety of food that they have here. I got some caramel vanilla ice cream. Reminded me of the drumstick ice cream, but creamier and less "heavy" tasting if that makes sense. A juxtaposition, I'm sure. Shop had customers come in and out the entire time, but it was never super busy. Worker was on the phone I think with other customers, but was friendly either way. Based on that, I completed the purchase and paid in full. After the transaction was completed and while the item was being bagged, a manager intervened, took the item, and stated the price was actually $20. I explained that I had already confirmed the price and completed payment, but she refused to honor it and insisted I pay the difference to receive the item. Eventually I did get my money back but From a consumer standpoint, this is troubling. If there was a pricing error, it should have been addressed prior to completing the transaction--not afterward. Changing the terms of a sale after payment is accepted raises serious concerns about fair business practices. "California consumer protection standards generally require accurate pricing and fair handling of completed transactions." I hope the business reviews its policies and ensures more consistent and transparent pricing for customers going forward.
