After a long shift, I made a revisit with some coworkers. The interior was filled with decor, clean and playing some music. Our server Madison was great. She was friendly, has a genuine personality, attentive and very knowledgeable. We order 6 items: 1) Cheese queso dip 2) Guacamole 3) Shrimp wrapped with bacon 4) Margaritas 5) Shrimp fajitas 6) Steak special. The fresh cheese queso and fresh guacamole was on point. You won't be able to eat just one chip with those sauces. The bacon wrapped shrimp served a chipotle sauce was delicious. The shrimp fajitas were served on a hot plate with sauté onions, fresh hot wrapped tortilla was delicious. The steak special was very good served with mashed potatoes and fluffy rice. The mango margaritas were amazing and we got it in 2 different sizes. They also have outside seating. We will definitely make another visit in the near future. read more

While in Bowling Green a group of us came here.... Great food! They definitely have the typical Mexican joint menu, but the food was flavored perfectly! The guacamole was really fresh and tasty, so was their spicy salsa! The chorizo, steak, and chicken fajitas were some of the best fajitas I've had in a long time. Consistently great food and service! A nice menu with lots of tasty options. Some of my favs include anything with shrimp and fresh sliced avocado. The drinks can sometimes be iffy, but they will make it right if not made properly. Clean inside and selection of booths or tables to fit different size parties. Service here is outstanding. While McKenzie was our official waitress it seemed like every employee had a hand in making sure we had an outstanding experience. I had a sample plate with 2 chili rellenos and rice and beans, so much food! My wife got a burrito that filled the plate. We both took home leftovers. Mira, Mira! For a small, sleepy town, this Mexican Restaurant is gem in Bowling Green! There are so many great things about this cantina, it's hard to know where to start! I love the rustic décor with lots of warm wood, muted fabric on the booths, metal wall art and terra cotta pottery. It's not overdone with gaudy kitsch like many Mexican spots. It does have some bright, colorful Spanish paintings on the wall which give the place a pop! It's very inviting. But more inviting is the staff! I was given a hearty welcome, and ushered to a cozy booth. They offered contactless ordering with their scanned QR code. Very convenient! The moment I sat down, another amigo deftly placed the warm tortillas and sauces on the table! Mmmm, I ordered the queso dip, in addition to the salsa and ranch spicy dip that came with the basket of chips! The queso was creamy and the perfect consistency. I munched away while finally deciding on the lunch carnitas. Because I really love this place, I wanted the food to be amazing! And it was good... the Spanish rice was fluffy and well seasoned, the beans were tasty and cheesy. Sad to say, the carnitas were not my fav. The pork was dry and overcooked. Not the juicy meal I was expecting. I only ate one of the tacos, but the dish did come with lots of fixin's that added to the entrée: lettuce, tomato, cheese, guacamole, and peppers. I ordered some cilantro on the side. The rest of the ingredients were fresh with a nice spicy flair. Next time I'm going to try the chicken... which may earn them that fifth star. The menu is certainly extensive so I'm going to bet my next meal will be better!! All the other aspects of this eatery are on point! It's super clean, especially the restrooms. They have festive Spanish music playing which adds to the atmosphere, there are several TVs, a good selection of beers and of course, the best margaritas! They have outdoor seating as well. But like I said, it's the employees and owners that really make this cool restaurant a favorite neighborhood haunt! Wowsers Mexican food foodies ! Not sure where to start other than being met with amazing enthusiasm from the gentleman at the front door. We were blown away by the top notch customer service, cleanliness, amazing flavor ! Look at my reviews, I do/know great American-Mexican food. I found this place by accident on our way back to DC. I suppose if I had a negative, it would be for the ownership, limited signage highlighting the location of this Gem. The food was absolutely amazing even with some finicky picky children in tow. We were a group of 6 and EVERYONE loved their meal. The fajitas, chimichangas, quesadillas, guacamole and Margaritas were fantastic. I liked the regular lime Rita over the Mango but that's just a choice. It's a must try ! I wish I lived closer to make it weekly tradition! read more

I finally tried Los Dos Amigos for lunch today and it definitely lived up to the hype! We were greeted and seated immediately. Just as quickly, we were given tortilla chips, salsa, and dip. There were several specials to choose from, and I opted for the shrimp fajita salad. Our server was fast and friendly, and our orders arrived within about 10 minutes. The fajita salad was excellent! In my initial review, I said I probably wouldn't be back unless I heard something improved. A few months ago I heard their management had already changed so I decided to give it another go (no one can say I don't give a place a fair shake!). I am VERY pleased to say that this place is leaps and bounds better than it was and... dare I say... very good. Their chips/salsa game has far better and the staff is very attentive. I know in a small town everyone wants the small businesses to succeed. I want them to succeed, but not because I'm treating them like a local charity despite their product. The "product" at Los Dos Amigos is finally something to brag about. I'm a sucker for anything with shrimp and their shrimp dishes are seasoned wonderfully and not over cooked. I don't know why overcooking shrimp is so common in Mexican restaurants, but this place does it right. Give them a shot. If you were turned back at your first impression, give them another go. I arrived a few hours early so I decided to check out the town. After close inspection of all 3 buildings that make up Bowling Green, I decided to eat. Since apparently the entire town shuts down between 2-3 pm....Mexican it was! This would have been 5 stars but there was one issue for me. The waitress.....wonderful. The food....delicious. The bathroom (always a good way to judge the cleanliness of the kitchen) was the cleanest bathroom I've ever seen in a restaurant. What cost them the final star was that when ordering the chimichanga I like to get 1 beef and 1 chicken so I can see how good they are. They said no, I had to choose one or the other. I've NEVER been to a Mexican restaurant that won't let you mix them. I had the chicken and it was excellent. read more

We were passing through Bowling Green coming from the coast and saw this little place had 4.5 stars. Food was great, service was awesome, and the rest rooms were one of the cleanest I've seen in a while. The shrimp de Los dos amigos was really delicious. It was a bed of rice that had been mixed with onions sautéed and loaded with thick chunks of grilled shrimp, then covered in cheese. Very rich. The other meal was the vegetarian quesadilla that had mushrooms, onions, zucchini, bell peppers, cheese, and beans in it. Really nice combo with the side of sour cream it came with. The chips also came with a creamy ranch type sauce that had a slight kick our waitress called their sweet salsa. They also had homemade traditional salsa. The booths are set up to isolate fairly well with the high backs. If you are pass through or live near here, try it, you'll like it! read more

OMG!! This place is amazing! So amazing that when I received my meal, fajita burrito, I kept eating the rice. The rice by itself was the best Spanish rice I've ever eaten. The fajita burrito was amazing as well topped with white queso sauce. The second time I went to this restaurant, I had arroz con pollo for lunch and it was so good that I cane back for dinner to get the same thing. If you visit this place, you will not be disappointed. Not many restaurants in BG. The food is decent & the blonde server is friendly. Being a small town you would think the manager would also be friendly and want to keep a good rapport with their patrons. NOPE! He was unprofessional & definitely not warm & friendly. My initial visit i was able to sub black beans for all the vegetables (onions, peppers & tomatoes), no issues & I'm allergic so there's that. I attempted to do the same on my next visit. Order comes out right and when my check came they charged over $2.00 for beans! when I spoke with the manager in regard to it not being a problem before, he responds with "we don't do that anymore, no, no more." I mentioned vegetables being more expensive than beans & the fact I got none of those & he says "everything is expensive." Excuse me?? Had they told me I wouldn't be able to sub anything then I wouldn't had ordered them. He was rude with his responses, and to me, what he should had done was just say, next time. That's how you retain customers. Needless to say I haven't been back since. He also asked people to leave who were done eating but were hanging out a little while enjoying the live music they had in there. Again, just rude! read more

This is a great stop for lunch or dinner. You can't go wrong with starting with chips, salsa, and dip. It was our first time here and I wanted to try the volcanito. It was steak (or chicken) wrapped in a flour tortilla, covered in cheese sauce. Delicious! It came with rice and beans (I chose black beans). I also enjoyed a yummy mango margarita and I'm glad it came on the rocks (most places only have frozen mango margaritas). We stopped here on the way south and will probably stop again on a future road trip. read more
