Maquila is a perfect place to chill when it is in between meals and you just want a snack!…read more Nice selection of crafted beers from local breweries on taps. We tried: Happy Otter Summer Ale In Yer Face Small plate of food to share. You can actually pick the size and they also have daily specials on their chalkboard. (Menu in English available and bartender was nice enough to help us with their daily specials which was in Spanish only) We tried: Bravas Maquila - (Euro 4) Spicy Potatoes with Garlic Mayonnaise Navajas Gallegas a La Mantequilla - (Euro 4.8) Razor Clams I did understand **Chris' Ghost Scorpion Salsa Extrapicante**. So make sure you ask them for their extra spicy hot sauce to go with your food! Good looking bartenders and super friendly service. Must sit at the bar.

We came to Maquila because most people said they had the only other craft beer in town besides Hops…read more& Dreams, but we found more than just beer. We also found beer. Such good beer. The long and short of it: 1. Beer. Maquila specializes in some of the only craft beer in Seville (see Hops & Dreams for further options) and they've got plenty of it. They seemed to center around the sweeter beers, hefes and saisons, but they seemed to change regularly so this might have just been at the time we were there. Still I got an IPA and a porter and couldn't have been happier. Then I had another IPA and was happier. 2. Food. Maquila also offered a pretty diverse menu if you're there for dinner. The mussels really stood out. Tossed in Chinese 5 spice they were succulent and delicious, so much so that my vegetarian fiance devoured most of the plate (seafood was partially back on the menu). Pair that with some tasty croquettes and chicken wings over noodles (why the hell not) and we had an odd and tasty pre-dinner. 3. Atmosphere. Maquila feels like a local bar in a really friendly city. It feels that way because that's pretty much what it is, but the room was bright and warm, the staff was friendly, there ample room and bar seating and it didn't seem overly loud even though it was full. A nice place to grab a drink. 4. Price. Converting to the Euro was the wrong way to go currency wise at this time (for some reason they wouldn't take Moroccan Dirham), but 3 appetizers and 4 beers came out to just over $40 USD. I would have taken that even had everything not been as good as it was. And it was. 5. Location. On the edge of the Hercules de Alameda, there are plenty of other bars and restaurants in the area if you're feeling like a more substantial dinner or a glass of wine/cocktail. There was pretty much nothing wrong with Maquila, as solid a spot as you'll find in Seville if you're looking for a good beer. Given the lack of it around the city, it becomes a must visit when you get tired of the same 3 drinks. We'll be back on our next trip for muscles and beer round 2. Overall Grade: A

The steak I received was like a starter. And if you are waiting for an hour you are getting even more hungry. Another minus point was the service. The waitresses did everything but they were lost due to the full restaurant. Forgot to bring wine, water and olives. Left the restaurant hungry and thirsty.

I ordered the risotto and it came out with in five minutes. It was luke warm so not sure when it was made and how long it was sitting in a hot holding pan. Waitress spoke very little English so it was a bit difficult to order. they also didn't have the traditional tapas we were ordering in Madrid and Barcelona so we were unfamiliar with many of the dishes. We believe they didn't bring my sister in laws dish correctly. My father in laws dish was the most flavorful. If you do end up going here I would say to order the Cerda con papas. Although I believe cerda means pork it was a slow roasted beef with a brown gravy sauce over potatoes. The beef was moist and the sauce was delicious. Note: they do charge for the bread you eat on the table. We decided to pass on dessert. They were a little overwhelmed with the amount of people that were in the restaurant with only two waitresses. My suggestion would be to try another spot or keep your expectations low.

Also great flavors (and much less salty than the other places we've visited). We tried several dishes, and the unanimous favorites were: -razor clams. These were not chewy at all, and were seasoned really well. -baby squid. Very fresh and delicious -avocado stuffed with shrimp and some other stuff: this was really refreshing. By the end of our meal, I wished we had more room in our stomach to try more dishes. The deep fried items were in a very tasty batter that I never had before. Everything about the red tuna was wonderful. I loved the avocado cannelloni. The squid ink pasta was delicious and the ink didn't taste bitter or anything. The dessert was very well balanced and wasn't overly sweet. The prices here were great and affordable. If a restaurant like this was in the US, the dishes hands down would be at least $10+. The service here was great. The staff was very attentive and were patient. They took the time to explain what was on the menu in English for us (menus are only in Spanish). If you decide to come here, you'll want to make a reservation online because it is popular. At the end of our meal, they treated us to a shot of limoncello. If this wasn't our last meal in Seville, we would definitely return to try other dishes on the menu!
