The amenities were great such as the communal kitchen and on Tuesdays and Sundays they offer free dinner with a purchase of any drink at their bar which was lively every night. I ordered a Fanta and got a plate of pesto pasta, which was glorious because I had just came into the city and was super tired and didn't feel like searching the area for food.

I stayed in a 12 bed female dorm. There were trunks underneath the bed for storage that you could put a combination or padlock on, and the bed itself had a nightlight, USB charging ports and little net storage pocket for essentials. Like most hostels in Europe, most of them double up as hotels so for a premium price you can also have your own room.

It is centrally located with plenty of bars, restaurants, gift shops, and tobacco stores nearby. The closest Metro station is less than a 10 minute walk (either Sol or Gran Via).

For two nights, we paid €40 so definitely ideal if you are on a budget. They take a €10 deposit for each room key, which is returned to you within 24 hours of checking out ON TIME. If you check out late, they keep the deposit for your room key. The bathrooms were mostly clean, but a few of the sinks didn't have hot water and in the dead of winter that could be really detrimental on the hands. The best time to catch the bathrooms is early morning. I would say before 8 AM when they've just been cleaned. One con about this place is they charge €6 to rent towels and they sell basic essentials, such as soap, shampoo, etc. Every other hostel I stayed in Europe offers towels and toiletries free of charge.

Nonetheless, CATS was cool. They served their purpose and if you wanna be in the heart of the city without city prices, it's a great place to stay.
