Breakfast and dinner buffets were included. Our room on the top floor, booked through an aggregator, was huge and included a large balcony. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The rooms are spacious and I believe most of them have at least partial sea view. We had half board and the breakfast and dinner buffets were both really good. Lots of selection and everything was fresh. At dinner there was always a roast of the day, lots of vegetarian or vegan options, salads.... No complaints at all. There is a 'proper' restaurant. We did go. Appetizers are a buffet, then your choice of three main courses, and dessert is several small things brought to your table. It was fine. Nothing wrong with it but the buffet is so good that I think if we were here again, we would not bother with the restaurant and just do the buffet. The pool area was nice and at least at this time of year, there was no problem getting a sun bed. The entertainment was well.... entertaining.. not the best bands you will see but everyone was singing a long and having a great time. I think our favorite thing about this hotel was the staff. Front desk, restaurant, bar, cleaning staff.... All of them were so friendly, always said hello, everyone was helpful. The staff really stood out for me. We would come back here in a minute with no hesitation and would highly recommend.

We were absolutely blown away at what a great room and view we got for a reasonable price. It was off season but it was a holiday weekend - the big Nerja Carnival celebration. What we got was a great surprise! Our room was a sea facing junior suite. It was very large and had an awesome balcony view of the crashing sea and the Balcon de Europa. The room was well appointed and included a complimentary bottle of cava. It also came with breakfast. The mini frig and safe were a plus. Given the very loud nearby Carnival festivities we were extremely happy to be facing the sea - the surf was great white noise. Anyone with a room facing east must not have gotten much sleep this weekend. The only downside was the room was rather warm despite the cool weather even with the heat off and the balcony door open. The AC is turned off in winter (for us Americans who love AC anything over 72 F is too warm!). The breakfast buffet was very good with many options including freshly made crepes and omelets. All of the staff we encountered was very helpful especially at the front desk. They helped explain how to get the discounted parking rate at the nearby Plaza de Europa parking garage. They also acted as tech support for at least four us guests that were having trouble getting on their wifi (not sure if this is a one time issue if not they need to sort that out.) Overall an excellent experience and stay.

There are a number of apartments that overlook the Balcon which we are going to look into. I was skeptical after reading some negative reviews but decided to give it a chance and I am so glad we did! We had a seaview room for such an affordable price! Not only did they surprise me with a bottle of champagne to our room on my birthday, but every aspect from the stay to the amenities to the food was lovely. PROS: -really good and affordable breakfast... they had fresh churros, made omelettes to order and were griddling pancakes fresh with a nice selection of breads, pastries, cheeses, meats, topping, juices, fresh fruit, etc -genuinely kind and helpful front desk staff -cute little library -surprisingly good and affordable lunch (we ate there a few times) -nice to sit in a shaded area and have cocktails with a view of the beach -beach front property -10 to 15 minutes walk to the center -blocks away to markets for snacks and water -parking on site for 15 euro a day (though it is definitely not made for large vehicles or the faint of heart to get down there!) -great value for the price (we loved waking up to the colors of the sunrise and taking naps to the sound of the sea) -baby friendly, they had a little cot for us in the room -2 pool options... one is very accessible in the main hotel and the other has rooftop views -super cool underground connection between the two buildings CONS: -as other reviewers have said, there is no iron in the rooms or onsite that you can borrow... this is something they should definitely remedy as it's really the only big issue we had (they did offer laundry services but it cost us about 16 euros to iron one dress, one shirt and one pair of pants for the wedding) -not really a con BUT I do think it would be nice if they had waiters at the pool to bring drinks instead of having to go to the bar -would have preferred blankets instead of thing sheets in the rooms but the AC was not very strong so I see why they don't put blankets ha

After driving 1.5 hours to Grenada we couldn't get to our hotel bc of Holy Week so we turned around and went back to Nerja. We backtracked and found the hotel on the beach we saw earlier. I was surprised to find the rate was only 85 euro for a sea view room that included breakfast too! So we booked it. The room was clean, beds comfy, and the balcony overlooked the ocean. We kept the sliding glass door opened all night to hear the sound of the waves. It was a perfect ending to an exhausting trip. They offer parking for a fee but we were lucky enough to find street parking. The breakfast was standard hotel buffet style - nothing fancy but a generous selection including eggs, different breads for toasting, coffee, tea, and juices. They also have a restaurant onsite or you can take an easy beautiful stroll on the beach boardwalk where you will find several other dining options. The staff was very friendly and the grounds were very well kept. They also offer free wifi that can be accessed outside too. I would def stay here again and highly recommend Nerja if you are traveling in Spain.

The shuttle to the airport was only 5 Euros per person & when we got to the lobby a couple minutes before we scheduled to leave, the driver was already there waiting on us. *Just make sure you schedule your ride the night before (I think the cut off time is like 9:30pm to schedule?)*. For the look & feel of the hotel & great service, we had a very well-priced room (54 Euros including tax), but I understood why it was on the cheap side once we got there. We came off a cruise and needed to stay for the night to catch an early flight the next morning. The whole way from the cruise port, our taxi driver kept insisting that we let her drive us around town to take a tour, since she said nothing was by the hotel. We thought she was just trying to sell us on a higher fare & declined, thinking we would walk around a bit once we arrived. Well, turns out, she was telling the truth. The hotel is located in an industrial area quite a ways away from anything worth walking to. Only warehouses & strip clubs were nearby (the hotel is actually directly next door to a strip club). Anyhoo, with only a 5 minute ride to the airport, a restaurant with delicious food (although a bit pricey), a beautiful rooftop pool/bar/lounge area & even a casino downstairs, we weren't complaining. If you're looking for a close stay to the airport with modern amenities, this is your spot! If you want to explore Málaga on foot, well, you'll probably want to go elsewhere.

We happily booked on our Marriott trade in…read morehere for a week into a 3 bedroom villa to celebrate our daughter who's a recent graduate and multi state bar pass attorney. We made it here after being in Madrid for 3 nights with our youngest who works for the FS corporation. I mention that, because one thing that happens in our stay was appalling and trust me , FS employees always notice.. First , this resort is beautiful. It's right on the beach. A beautiful gym; multi pools , including a heated one inside; a kids pool & play area; BBQ areas and multiple outlets for eating. The lobby is small, which made check in a bit slow. There is a market place, but it's pricey as it's on property. But it gets you what you need & our girls loved that it had quick pizzas and Euro snacks on the ready. There is a grocery store down the way , also pricey , but cheaper than on Marriott's property. The villa itself could use a bit of a renovation but it's very quiet and so nice and near so much in S. Spain. We had a large balcony over looking the grounds. The location superb. The villa itself was outfitted perfectly for our daughters and us for the 6 day stay. We had one misfire at the on site restaurant: his name is , ' Rofo' and he is a tyrant. He works at El Med, as a host --- maybe a waiter and wins the award for the rudest, most obnoxious staff member we encountered in Europe this year.. yes. The entire year. He sat us at 830, maybe closer to 9pm? But being in Spain, that is usually the dinner hour. We had been traveling all day so we heard music in the restaurant and one of our daughters had a headache and asked to sit on the patio, which he took issue with. She saw him roll his eyes as we sat at the outside table , ( he said we had to sit by 'his' door and order from the limited bar menu), so she left for the room & we went inside, which again aggravated him and he rolled his eyes again. He slammed the menus down and told us to hurry and order. He then placed bread on the table that we didn't want , ( charging us for it) & returning to say 'yes?' .. meaning he wanted our order. We ordered quickly. This was the vibe through our quick dinner; and when we listened to the great entertainment, that we loved and decided to order dessert since it seemed others were? He yelled at us, 'HURRY UP!! IT's almost 10 and we close!!' While tapping his watch and saying , 'I I , EYE EYE EYE O!' .. to that I finally said , ' that is NOT okay .. you are rude !' And he said ' you showed up late and chef is waiting !' .. I had NO clue what this man meant .. but we wanted our check and I was so angry and humiliated we vowed to never go back to this restaurant again. Moreover, it's a Marriott where we have over a weeks plus worth of points for this trip in Europe like we do every year and the American brands employee treated us that badly at dinner after our long day ? So that was our one HUGE issue. We did check out a day early and leave for Barcelona. The spa was also closed and that is not mentioned anywhere on any site or when you check in- it's only when you ask. That said most of our time here was great. It's a lovely location. There needs to be more restaurants with more variety open and a spa. Some updates are needed but I think we will definitely return and maybe Rofo will have a new career somewhere else :-)

Great food and service. No one told us a reservation was recommended though. Beautiful water views!read more
