Roof top restaurant with night views
    Ashish J.

This place is just walking distance from all the touristy places and has an amazing rooftop restaurant overlooking the bell tower and the city. Rooms are bigger by European standards. Most impressive was a balcony (that works) which overlooks the harbor. If you are a tourist, you will love this place. If you are looking for a quiet boutique hotel - please look elsewhere.

We stayed here for our trip to southern Spain. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable helped us plan and book all the tours we needed and added a recommendation of places we should see which was amazing spots to see. The hotel is so clean and quiet even though it's located in a prime location close to town center and all public transportations. This is the hotel I will always come back to it in my future trips to Spain.

Our 1 night stay in Malaga turned into a 3 night stay and it's still hard to leave! Very, and I can't emphasize the very, centrally located. You really can't get a better location for sightseeing and shopping. It's right next to the cathedral (literally my view from the balcony), a stones throw from the alcazar, and downstairs is the Christmas light show and shopping district. Not to mention you're an elevator ride away from the highest rooftop bar in all of Malaga. Room is simple but nice. Nespresso coffee maker, water bottles and small toiletries (we forgot toothpaste at home, so this was helpful), robe, and slippers (yay!) along with a fridge. (Filled with mini bar items, but still has space where you can cram in a few items) I found out the rooftop bar requires people to buy tickets if you're not staying here - so we took full advantage of going up nightly and enjoying the 360 view and sunset. The drinks were reasonable, the small dishes were good, and yes - they have gluten-free bread substitutes available! That, and they gave us $10/person ($20 total, note this is USD and not euro) daily credit for platinum Bonvoy member so... we happily spent it on jamon iberco and some local wines. They also gave us a box of cookies as a welcome gift which was super nice! People are friendly, hotel is incredibly well decorated for the holiday season, housekeeping was daily and great. Only major flaw is that Internet is really spotty. It was so bad at time, I had to make international work calls using cellular (ouch) because of the (lack of) internet speed, and 50% of the time even browsing became an issue. I definitely didn't get as much done as I thought I would here, and will need to take work with me to the next location. Otherwise, the only other minor complaint was the buffet breakfast looked like it was missing fruits and vegetables and variety - something travelers really have trouble getting at most restaurants while running around, and I would've otherwise really liked to have tried it. (We skipped and went straight to lunch while here) Still an excellent 5 star stay, and thanks for the great Malaga memories - we hope to be back soon!

Seems like a hotel that is going through a rebranding from another brand. Overall I enjoyed my stay and the staff was super nice. The rooftop is the place to be with stunning views and the DJ playing some good tunes.

I suggest that you get a GPS with your car rental if you've never driven in Europe! Not realizing that the street signs were not like back in the US, I printed directions using Mapquest! What the heck was I thinking!?!? After driving around in circles for about 30 minutes, my beautiful Spanish speaking wife convinced me to stop and ask for directions. Found it! Finally! The room was surprisingly spacious and very comfortable. The location is great as we were very close to so many things. The pedestrian street shopping area was a few walking minutes away. The hotel staff was quite friendly, especially as I approached them in my limited Spanish and asked if they spoke English, which they did. I would recommend this hotel if you are planning on a few days here in Malaga.

I have only been here for several hours. Staff are very helpful. Room is quiet and comfortable. There is a terrace restaurant with great views, pool area, and a nice bar downstairs . There are shops and restaurants near the hotel as well as Pablo Picasso museum , pedestrian areas. Beautiful town and hotel.

View from our window towards the port and Marina.

Opening in 1926 as a luxury hotel, this property has served several functions over the years but was restored to its original grandeur in 2017. From the moment you pull up to the grand front entrance, service and attentiveness is off the charts! I was warmly greeted, assisted with my bag, shown to my room and told about the range of amenities at the hotel.Every staff member here is nice and speaks several languages which is nice. There is a full spa and my massage there was terrific. The breakfast restaurant has everything you could ever want available and the room looks out to the water. There is a rooftop bar that is classy and pours a great drink along with views of the water and city. The casual lunch restaurant, Botanicals, is also quite good with impeccable service. My room was one of the sea view suites, a splurge but worth the extra cost to have a large outdoor patio, views of the pool and sea as well as plenty of room to relax. Malaga is just coming into it's own as a vacation destination in Spain thanks to the Picasso museum, large port and plenty of restaurants. Not fun when you have jet lag from long travel and catch cold. The room temperature was maxed at 18C. Could not change it any higher, despite someone from the hotel attempted to fix it. The tv was precariously hanging loose on the wall. Loose panel in bathroom ceiling (it fell down as well). Dirty sink. It is not leveled properly and was dripping off the flat surface to the floor. The sink itself did not drain well. So, it had mildew buildup (they did not clean it well too). Soft bed. The bathroom did not have ventilation/fan. After complaint, they said they would move use to a "superior" room and a suite. Got tricked again. They moved us from floor 7 (with better view) to floor 3, AND a SMALLER room! Smaller bathroom too and no more rain shower head. Nothing superior about this room. Looks cheaper than our original room. They said that this has coffee machine. We didn't care for it. It is much smaller. Don't get fooled.

It's in a great location, right by the center and the harbor. There are tons of restaurants and shopping around. We rented a car so we had to park our car, but the hotel will give you a stamp for a small discount for a lot nearby. Honestly, you can just leave your car for a day or two and you can walk everywhere. The airport is also about 15 mins away, which makes it so convenient. The main reason I decided on this hotel over any of the others is because they have an awesome roof top bar. Check the pics, it is very nice. The problem is that some of the people that work there are not big fans of good customer service. This is stereotypical tourist, we don't care that you are here, we will help you when we want to, you will get what we give you type of service. I thought since I didn't go to Miami or Ibiza that I would get the typical awesome spanish service but that was not the case. My feeling is that they are just anti American, which is unfortunate. It seemed other customers were having a great time. Of course I can't categorize the entire staff but the 3 people I had interactions with I felt like I was an inconvenience. Also when I muscled thru my 11 € Gin and Tonics, which they poured very light. They didn't do the typical pour where they respect and acknowledge you, they just poured some weak sauce and walked away. I poured my own Tonic, every time. Sometimes they came back to check on me. This was the ambiance I was experiencing the entire time I was on the roof. This and loud club music. The only reason I added 2 stars to the 2 star is because the front staff and room staff are amazing. So nice and warm. I felt so great checking in, like "they got me". Honestly I wish I never went to the roof so I would have just been left with my first perception. There are plenty of places all around the hotel that are the typical awesome Spanish love and come eat & party with me type of places you don't need this place. Scene 2- I am getting some love like I mean something now. More to come. Ok maybe I over reacted, tons more love coming to the big guy. I am going to add some additional comments when this us done. I spent the night till 2am on the roof and it was lovely. I have to say I am glad I pushed thru, the party on the roof last night was a ton of fun.

The shuttle to the airport was only 5 Euros per person & when we got to the lobby a couple minutes before we scheduled to leave, the driver was already there waiting on us. *Just make sure you schedule your ride the night before (I think the cut off time is like 9:30pm to schedule?)*. For the look & feel of the hotel & great service, we had a very well-priced room (54 Euros including tax), but I understood why it was on the cheap side once we got there. We came off a cruise and needed to stay for the night to catch an early flight the next morning. The whole way from the cruise port, our taxi driver kept insisting that we let her drive us around town to take a tour, since she said nothing was by the hotel. We thought she was just trying to sell us on a higher fare & declined, thinking we would walk around a bit once we arrived. Well, turns out, she was telling the truth. The hotel is located in an industrial area quite a ways away from anything worth walking to. Only warehouses & strip clubs were nearby (the hotel is actually directly next door to a strip club). Anyhoo, with only a 5 minute ride to the airport, a restaurant with delicious food (although a bit pricey), a beautiful rooftop pool/bar/lounge area & even a casino downstairs, we weren't complaining. If you're looking for a close stay to the airport with modern amenities, this is your spot! If you want to explore Málaga on foot, well, you'll probably want to go elsewhere.
