Requested a move-in cleaning on a 1500 square foot house that, their own cleaners remarked was not terribly dirty. On a walk through evaluation of the house, they promised cleaning floors, bathrooms, kitchen, stove, fridge, and fans in two and a half hours with four people. They did the fridge, most of the stove, very little of the bathrooms, vacuumed the floors (no moping), part of the fans (there was still lot of dust on the fans), and none of the kitchen. Words cannot say how poor a job they did and then charged me for. I walked into the house halfway through the cleaning to find that in each bathroom one of the cleaners had been cleaning for over an hour. The bathrooms were new and needed a wipe down--instead I found that mysteriously the women in each of these bathrooms did not wipe down basic surfaces such as countertops and drawers (there was hair and dust and dirt smudges throughout). I have cleaned bathrooms my whole life, including professionally--these bathrooms were not only not clean, it doesn't take over an hour and a half to clean them, even in depth. The only truly dirty thing was the oven--while most of it got cleaned well enough, the drawer was left with food crumbs and dirt in it. Finally, they did not come prepared for the job--lacking basic and necessary equipment, like a step ladder (fortunately the previous owners had left one). The communication was sporadic and unprofessional from start to finish. She billed me 515 for the job. I took picture of the house after it was "clean" and I wrote a long, not irate note, detailing the poor cleaning job and that her own head cleaner had promised a job she had not delivered. A week after the poorly done job, Lorie offered to send a cleaning crew back out since I wasn't happy with their work--but by then I'd already cleaned the house myself. She reduced my charge by half an hour and still charged me 400 for two hours that resulted in no single space being clean. I have family in the cleaning business and they were shocked at both the prices, amount of time spent, and lack of quality. I paid the bill. I tip bad haircuts and I never leave bad reviews--but this was bad beyond anything. Hire Lorie at your own risk. read more

Natalie and her assistant did a wonderful job of whipping the upper floor of our home into shape... and it was in really, really bad shape. They got into all the corners, under all the rugs, even the baseboards and windowsills. I'd use them again in a heartbeat. They did a great job and were efficient and professional. I have used a cleaning person or service for over ten years now. My regular cleaning person was unable to come one week so I needed to hire a service. Given the great reviews I read about Lorie Stuart Cleaning, I had high hopes it would be better than most services (Merry Maid, Molly Maid, etc.). They definitely charge a premium above these other services and they claim to be very detailed and thorough cleaners. They did a fine job, but nothing above and beyond. Some things were not cleaned at all (like the front of my oven), other things looked pretty good (like my glass shower doors). Lorie Stuart is pretty much what you would expect from a cleaning service, nothing more. In fact, it was somewhat less in that this was the first service I hired that did not follow up after the cleaning to check how they did. I give other services credit on that front that someone has always followed up with me to check my satisfaction. Lorie Stuart cleaning seemed to not really care if I was happy or not. They received their $130 for my 1700 sq. ft. house and were gone. The two women cleaning were nice enough, but again, for the increased cost above other services, I would never recommend them or use them again.
