So only One more Week left to view this interesting, important work by various Haitian artists. A great Toussaint artwork and one piece made of Skittles into the face of "Tupac." If you look at the Skittle piece up close you may not be able to see it is, in fact, Tupac Shakur. Inside the actual museum which was once a gymnasium Basketball Court is a weaving exhibit entitled "Ancestral Lines" which has been here a couple of months- having opened on April 4, 2025- and, I think, will be here about another month until sometime in July 5, 2025, as I recall. I don't think you can actually call this a museum. It's a wonderful little gallery of three or four…read morerooms put together. There are very few art pieces, but it is still a nice outing. I was very happy to learn that they sell beverages so you can walk around with them! I will try that next time. The only problem is that it probably only takes a half an hour to walk around. There is a little garden path outside that you can roam around that has lots of little sculptures and fairy/ gnome houses. It is good for children, as they offer classes and summer programs. It is wonderful as it is a non-profit and free to the community. I appreciate they have different events including book signings and authors, and the space is open for rentals and things. It's overall very cute, but still lots of room for improvement.

When I walked in I was amazed by the size of the store with hundreds and hundreds of wall art that would fit anyone's taste....there are scenes of Nee York City, Marilyn Monroe, Manga characters, rock stars, Blue singers, and much more. They have a closeout sale going on right now, but it does not say when the store will be closing. A nice place to check out funky art. The easiest way to get here is to park by the Primark and walk into the mall from there...It's on the left side.

The Rosenbaum Contemporary has a large private parking lot. The building is a large…read morewarehouse-looking building. There are two entrances opposite one another: one is for the Rosenbaum and the other is for RFA Decor (and something else which I forget). I'm so glad I saw an event listing on the Cultural Council website for the last show at the Rosenbaum Contemporary: Two Generations Roberto Matta and Frederica Matta. This show paired father and daughter, whose artwork had only been exhibited together one other time, over 20 years ago, in their country of Chile. I wish I had seen the listing earlier so that I could share the art show with friends... because it was excellent! Thanks a million to the mega awesome Gabriel who jumped up from his lunch break to enthusiastically give my family and I a private tour. He was passionate, informative and completely dedicated to the artists and the works. I was nearly overwhelmed by all the additional interpretations, background stories and explanations that Gabriel shared, not only about each piece but about the lives of the artists themselves, their intentions and their relationship. I felt so special and privileged to see the artworks in such a heightened, enhanced way; I still have many of the images seared into my brain. Thanks you, Gabriel! When I first walked up to the building, I found both entrances to the Contemporary blocked by metal chains with signs directing me to the 'other entrance.' I found this frustrating and vague, but I complied and walked a few steps to the adjoining entrance to RFA Decor. Unfortunately, when I entered, the woman who came up to help me told me that the show was probably closed for the lunch hour. I was pretty upset, as I had checked both Yelp and the homepage to make sure that the Rosenbaum would be open when we were able to finally make it there. It wasn't closed though; the only dedicated Contemporary employee was taking his lunch break and letting potential visitors find their way through from next door. My experience rapidly went from a 1 to a 5.

From the outside, the windows are large a viewable from the street but inside the employees are nice and will talk about the works of art with obviously the thoughts of selling their pieces. They do not have any dedicated parking but there is a free lot just down the street.

Noticed a sign at the front of the DeBilzan Gallery that says, "All You Need Is Love And A Whole…read moreLotta Cash". So thought this was one of those crazy overpriced art galleries and took a peek inside. The employee or owner was outside on her phone so we took a self guided tour of the exhibits which were mainly wall art and purses by an unknown artist to me named Debilzan. The assuming original art work was colorful and intriguing, one priced high at $11k, but the vibrant purses were shockingly only $700.00. So not sure if the purses were cheap versions of originals with cool art work by DeBilzan painted on them.
