In December 2011, I was involved in a car accident. The other driver admitted he was at fault, so you would think this would be an easy case. I retained Lorenz & Lorenz as our attorneys. My attorney was Jason (who is no longer there). I saw a chiropractor for approximately two months and then it was determined that I needed surgery. I do not have insurance and the law firm knew this from the beginning. All of sudden, my lack of insurance became a problem. A chiropractor cannot write prescriptions, so I was in pain from the accident on. When you call the attorney's office, the staff is rude and the answer is always, "Your lawyer is with another client," or "I will have them call you back." Don't hold your breath because it doesn't happen. Next thing you know, I received a letter stating that they are no longer representing me and advised me to obtain another attorney before the statute of limitations runs out. Whether you call Lorenz & Lorenz or use their email address via their website, it's very rare if they ever get in touch with you. When I tried to find out the reason that I was dropped as a client, I was told someone would get back with me. It's hard to find representation when you don't even know the reason your case was dropped. I'm sitting her in limbo now. I would not recommend Lorenz & Lorenz. I'm sure there are some people out there that might have gotten a good settlement or a happy ending, but if they do exist, they must not post reviews. read more

i wasnt impressed with the law firm , they were slow no communication or updates unless i called them.and even then no explanation . They couldn't sign us up fast enough after we were rear ended by a giant SUV while we were stopped in a parking lot. Their "intake" guy came down to see the damage to our car and took pictures. That would have been the time to say "Gee, that' doesn't look like a lot of damage, but maybe that's just the way the car is built. It's not like we base the amount of damages you might get on how bad your car is hit." That is EXACTLY how Lorenz & Lorenz gauge how much you can expect to get. They sent us to doctors that wouldn't accept their lien forms because they made a special form that did not guarantee payment. It all boiled down to a lack of damage on our Toyota which has built-in crumple zones. The jerk who hit us used his fist - in the rain! -, to smash the part of the rear quarter panel back into place. He did that while I was going to get my camera to take pictures of the damage! All I ended up with was pictures of my wet car and fist marks from whhere he hit my car to force the piece back into place. Guess that and two witnesses who were in my car with us weren't good enough. People are not cars. We don't have crumple zones. We were hurt, my kid's x-rays proved a whiplash injury, but none of that seemed to matter. Ultimately the lawyer they assigned to our case, Charlsie Brown, called us and said they were dumping the case because they couldn't get a settlement offer over $700 and they could give us the name of a lawyer who would file a lawsuit for us. Is that what they mean on TV when all those "spokespeople" say "They'll Fight For You!" If that means a couple of phone calls to elicit a BS offer, then that's not the kind of fight I expected. I guess if you drive a well made car designed not to self-destruct when it's hit, you don't have much chance of collecting. Lorenz immediately assigned us to rude employees, disinterested lawyers and nobody ever gave me the feeling they were "fighting for us!". Don't buy the hype, if you get into a car accident, ignore the TV ads and find a good lawyer using a review site like yelp. They they treated us like we were lying about everything right down to being hit! Once they determined they weren't going to make any money on us, they dropped us like a bad habit leaving us with medical bills to be paid and a crappy relationship with the insurance adjuster for the guy who hit us. Everybody at Lorenz firm we spoke with - after they signed us up - was rude, not pro-active, and seemed really inconvenienced when I called or they had to call me. the only time they ever show any interest in you is when you see them for the first time. After they sign you up, good luck! I would never recommend them to anybody and I'm sorry I ever called them. Too bad 1 star is the lowest rating I could give them. I'm torn! Found Lesley Lorenz through University of Texas Law School - Continuing Legal Education Conferences on Car Crashes.... I was INCREDIBLY IMPRESSED.... she, I believe, was the Chair of at least 2 of the conferences and spoke at at least one seminar. WOW - - - knowing her stuff is an understatement. I was incredibly impressed! I also saw ads on television and her website, which looks like they (her and her husband) are open for business and accepting cases. So....I called because a friend needs an attorney. The person that answered the phone was very nice and forwarded me to Ivette, their intake specialist. After a brief conversation... that I thought went well... I sent them the police report via email. Within a couple hours, very timely, I received a call back from Ivette telling me that they weren't going to accept my case because "their docket was full." ???? WHAT??? I understanding what that means... docket is another term uses for cases... which means that they have are full of cases right now... but ???????? Why spend money on advertising... why does their website look the way it looks...why not let the person in charge of intake know this beforehand so that my time is not taken.... and why have an intake person if you aren't accepting cases... I understand the term but not the reason. If they didn't like the information on the police report... tell me that... but their docket is full right now..... really? I'll go elsewhere. read more

In August of 2021, I had just gone back to work with Uber. After dropping off my first fare while driving back home another vehicle did a U turn and totalled my Ford Escape, driving me across three lanes of traffic, and severely injuring my back. I called Lorenz & Lorenz. The man that hit me had only the minimum coverage. His ins. only offered me 75% of the worth of my 2009 Hybrid Ford Escape. When I called the law firm, a young woman told me that I would have to settle the property claim myself. I asked , then why do I need a lawyer, she transfer me to a lawyer, and I never spoke with her again. My doctor set up a MRI, and told me that they were waiting for a "Letter of Protection" from my lawyer? I called over a period of three months and spoke many times with my lawyers and their assistants, each one told me multiple times that they would send the letter over, that day. By December, I went to the Neurosurgeon, that had done my back surgery in 2019. He got me an MRI within a week, and they found that a disc was protruding between my first and second vertebrae. My lawyer told me that Uber did not cover their drivers with insurance in Texas. I asked if we could possibly make an Underinsurance claim with my Insurance Co.? My lawyer said that they exclude coverage for their policyholders while they drive for Uber. I explained that when I started driving for Uber, I met with my Ins. agent, and she told me I did not need to do anything, and that she drove for Uber, and that the lot where her office used to be was a good place to get fares. I was unable to work for over a year. My wife and I are both retired school teachers. She has worked as a Puppeteer since her retirement, and since I have been unable to work she has tried to make enough money so that we won't have to sell our house. She had a stroke and is only now getting back to working part time. We have used up all of our savings. I've gone back to work part time, but it does look like we will have to sell our house. Lorenz and Lorenz did next to nothing for us! They were not willing to fight for me at all. They mailed in a few forms and collected $10,000., while I got much less? I was going through a rough time when my accident occurred, if fact the morning of the accident I was on my way to my first day of a much needed new job (which I clearly didn't make it to work that day).......She was genuinely concerned with my well being. I rarely do reviews, but this is one I just had to do. I was involved in a car accident back in late 2014 in which I was rear-ended by a truck going about 40mph while my car was at a dead stop. My car was banged up quite a bit and didn't look as bad as it really was. I was sure there was frame damage based on the speed the truck was going and the height difference. I immediately felt a small amount of back pain, but was determined to just get the truck owner's contact and insurance information. I left the scene and went home. As soon as I got home, my back pain began to increase. I remembered seeing the commercials for Lorenz & Lorenz and immediately called them. The intake specialist took down all my information and even asked for me to send any other information that could help my case. I sent over photos of the truck owners insurace, license plate number, and photos of my car and his truck. Lorenz and Lorenz suggested that I see a chiropractor or doctor to make sure that I was not seriously injured. Later that night, the truck owner began harrassing me and asking that I not go through his insurance. He and his family contacted me repeatedly by phone and text saying that they wanted to work it out by having a family friend of theirs work on my car. I contacted Lorenz and they instructed me to obviously not do that and ignore any of his call from there on out. They also instructed me to send over any messages the truck owner had sent me as this would make my case stronger. I had never been involved in any sort of accident prior to this, so this was all new to me. I was assigned to Shawn Martin and I knew right from the start that this man was going to get the job done for me. Shawn walked me through the entire process and let me know what to expect. All I wanted was to have my car fixed and my medical bills covered. Shawn Martin and the Lorenz & Lorenz team did all this and then some! I was never stressed out or worried about anything throughout the claim. I was always kept up to date by the staff here. My body is back to normal and I feel no back pain. My car was eventually ruled out as being totaled, but everything worked out since it was processed by the truck owners insurance. All in all, I don't know how this experience could have been any better. I hope I never have to do so, but if any of my friends ever have a similar accident, I will definitely suggest Lorenz & Lorenz! read more

Back in May my husband, our friends and I got hit, we were in a accident and EMS were called to the scene. I was taken to the hospital for what seemed to feel like a fractured or even broken leg but it turned out to be a major bruise and swelling on the bone.. Well anyways, I was referred to this Law firm from a friend. I now wish i would have never dealt with them. Its been over 6 months and they have contacted me with their final offer from the "Insurance company" offering me $8,300 and out of the settlement they only want to give me 2,100 because we are basically splitting the settlement four ways with the chiropractor, that I only went to a handful on times and the hospital. So basically what they are saying is, If I don't take that offer they have to sue the Insurance company and that could take years!! I personally feel that they are scamming people. Ive never been in a car accident and dealt with anything like this so, please before you decide to hire these attorneys that are HERE TO HELP YOU think twice. Just finished up my settlement with this company last week. The attorney I was assigned was Benjamin Arbek. Mr Arbek in the beginning was very good about the process. Very informative as well as very responsive to me and my co worker who were both involved in a car wreck with an construction company. The only issue i had was up until the negotiation stage. This is were I found Benjamin Arbek to be untrustworthy. He took the first offer given to us by the company which made me feel like he wasnt trying hard enough. Where he became untrustworthy was when he told my co worker the company had a million dollar policy but when I asked him about the company's policy, he told me he didnt know the company's policy amount!?. Now an attorney not knowing a company's policy amounts while negotiating offers seems kind of odd. Not sure if he forgot that me and my co worker talk but I mentioned to him that she had already told me the policy amounts and he then acted like he didnt know if he said that to her or not. That is when I knew he was untrustworthy and we needed to be done at that point. Lastly, I would say go with another law firm as the company i had a wreck with had a million dollar policy and me and my co worker both only received no more than 2000 each. Yes, he did offer the court route but, was of course very persuasive about not going and knowing he was untrustworthy at that point It would not have been a good idea. I have requested to speak to Ted Lorenz several occasions with my attorney! Before I closed my case! 01/19/2017 I am very concerned about everyone's privacy medical records and our social security being on all forms that are in my case File. My attorney has an email with that information on my case of my concerns. I told all my attorneys some doctors had nothing to do with this car accident. I gave him all the copies of the medical my records. I am still being charged $50. For one page. It had nothing to do with the car accident. Then my attorney told me their fees was reduced. I have it on the 1st draft that he made me. My attorney said he spoke to Ted Lorenz in June 2018 and got his permission. Ted Lorenz had authorized to reduce it. and then now I'm back up to full price. I want to ask Ted Lorenz why??? Is it because I asked the attorney to do his job! Dispute a physical and other medical stuff that was done before the car accident and had nothing to do with the car accident. I don't understand why the insurance would ask money back for things that they know has nothing to do with the car accident.. All attorneys were informed what was done before the car accident. I did request a copy of my case File. Wow !! Look what I got!! I did tell my attorney what was in my case file as well. Wow !! My attorney doesn't seem that concerned information that was in my case File.. Information was emailed to the attorney as well. But I'm sure Ted Lorenz would be concerned. On what I received. With my case File! Information Everybody needs to know that they send a letter to your health insurance telling them they will fully protect their interests of all medical insurance They will send the date that you had the car accident and the date you close your case. So if you went to the doctor for anything. Such as a sore throat. Your co-payment might have been $35 to see the doctor for sore throat. Now you're paying back the insurance $250 just an example. Your attorney you hired to protect you right. Is now sending a letter to the Insurance company and tell them we are here to fully protect your rights! I can get you $250 back. For that sore throat. That had nothing to do with a car accident. Or for a well check that's free with our co-payment. They want to help your insurance make $1,000. That also will be taken out of your settlement. Ted Lorenz said in another review that is your is your right! To ask for your case File it belongs to you. Everybody that has closed the case in the past And before closing your case. I would recommend in to get a copy of your case File. That is your right you paid them for their service I've requested the email address of Ted Lorenz. After 3 years of dealing with this law firm my settlement didn't pay for gas to doctor visits, chiropractor appointments, three visits to the firm, and a visits to mediation. My settlement was over $15,000 and I received $1,100! I was the one injured and I received less than 8% of the monies generated from my misfurtune. I have a lot of second thoughts about this entire situation. However, I only hope that my experience with this firm will help others choose better counsel or maybe other methods that will properly cover pain and suffering, expenses, and etc. read more

This guy Ted Lorenz advertises that he got X' amount of money in his clients pockets, not in my case. The attorney that worked for Lorenz had worked out a settlement deal that would be split three ways between Lorenz, myself and the health insurance company. But when it came time for the signing of the paperwork, the attorney that worked for Lorenz had been fired and the only person that got the most money was Lorenz. He charges you for taking your case, then charges for obtaining medical information that you already provided to him. He is the top ambulance chaser in the city of Austin. Do not expect to be happy when the case is over. read more

I faxed them the police report, evidences, pictures and did all the leg work and then they told me that they cant take my case because they already have their plate full. Not what is portrayed on the TV commercials: I have never been in a fender bender and really thought getting this attorney would be a great decision....NOT..I was asked to call the hospital and the Dr. office myself to keep my name out of the credit bureau. I was called, not visited at my site to agree on settlement agreements, not showing me anything that I was agreeing to...I was informed by another attorney that this office didn't do anything I couldn't of done by myself...Very unprofessional when they don't give you options, just information that is going to benefit their office. The attorney ended up with the most money from this settlement, followed by the chiropractor they referred me to and then, last but not least, was ME...the one that had to go through the whole accident, ended up with the least amount of the settlement.... read more

The attorneys at Lorenz and Lorenz treated us very professionally and kindly every step of the way during the almost 15 months that they handled our case. When we first met with Rachael she gave us a very accurate assessment of the timeline to expect as well as all the steps that would need to be taken along the way to get our case resolved, which we appreciated. Everyone in the office always treated us very well. Emails and calls were taken and returned in a very timely manner. No question was ever too small and no request was ever too great to be taken care of. Another driver made an illegal left turn in front of us which caused my Suburban to crash into her - my Suburban was totaled, my daughter was injured and so was I. The other party lied about having an arrow and her insurance company refused to take responsibility. Rachael was so helpful as my daughter and I went through the long journey of 1) appearing in court as the other lady fought the ticket she received as a result of the accident (she lost!), 2) gathered the information needed to file the lawsuit, 3) assemble all the pictures taken of the totaled vehicle and the injuries, 4) fill out the mass of paperwork needed, and 5) go through the process of depositions, etc.. Can I give 0 Star? I had a car accident and hired Lorenz & Lorenz to represent me. Since the beginning I could not get in touch, very hard comunication. He made no effort at the other party's insurance to prove that he was wrong and not me. Even the witness I had, who was super important to my case, did not have contact with him until I had a lot of pressure from me. I sent several emails, none were answered. The people who hire him are not important. The secretary that sometimes came in contact was super uneducated and did not know how to treat clients. He left my case without at least making an effort and the secretary called me informing me and I wanted to know why and she said she did not have anything to say anymore and hung up the phone. They mark and do not appear, leave the client waiting and do not give a phone call to inform if he can not attend. Do not waste time hiring this "lawyer". read more

They also made me get therapy for 6 months and left me with a huge medical bill. They received a settlement and took most of it and left me a tiny fraction while I should have gotten more! When I first hired the Lorenz law firm I was told to make sure I made it to every Doctor appointment because it would make my case stronger and more reliable! Well 2 months or so into going to the chiropractor and the Pain management specialist as well other appointments my bill had grown to over 6k and out of no where Evan H. Called me and explains that THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH MONEY TO BE MADE!!!! so the law firm was stepping down and I needed to call all the doctors that Lorenz Law firm sent me too and pay for there services! The Law firm knew from the beginning I did not work and never could pay for any of my doctor bills that I was told I had to attend or my case would never amount to anything!! Now I have COLLECTION AGENCIES calling and threatened to pull me into court if I did not pay!!! Please people make sure to never use this Law Firm they don't care at all and only devastate lives!!!! I called up Lorenz and Lorenz and they sent their flunky out to get application process started. Long story short, the settled my case for around $19,000 before all of medical bills got paid. So still left $7000 ish. Some devil from his office called all excited to offer me $1000..???? I was in the car. I hit the pole. So they deserved $6000? So I was holding out & finally got $2500. They still got more money than ME even though I was in the accident. Do your homework.DO NOT USE ATTORNEY'S that use commercials. Do not let any attorney receive more settlement than you. That's how they can afford to make these commercials and be on the front pages of the phone book. STAY AWAY! !!!!! read more

We were told we had a case for a slip and fall we were referred to a Chiropractor for treatments and told to have the documentation sent over as soon as they were completed. 2 weeks of work was missed. and as soon as the case was submitted it was refused saying We didn't have enough proof and that they were never liable. The attorney (my second one assigned to me) would never call or email me back. The only way I knew my case had been dropped was by the DOCTOR's office calling me to tell me I owe them $1,600 !!!!!
