GOD AWFUL school! I have had three kids attend this school (two have graduated). There have always…read morebeen issues (teacher arrested/imprisoned for sex with student, campus police officer arrested for sex with students, science teacher having mental breakdown in class), but nothing like the problems I've had this year with my youngest son. I didn't know when I came on here to leave this review that there were already two other reviews about bullying, but they are ABSOLUTELY correct! My son (a junior this year) has dealt with SO much bullying and harassment, and the school has done absolutely nothing about it. NOTHING. I could go on and on because I have kept very detailed documentation, but the review would way be too long. Long story short, my son has been harassed for months by kids on the football team (which he joined briefly)-- by harassed I mean verbal harassment, threats and MULTIPLE incidents of vandalism to his car. When I called the first time to report the vandalism (which occurred on campus), I had to leave a message and was never called back. My son's car has been egged, paintballed, punctured through the trunk (a literal hole in the trunk that had to be repaired at a body shop), and lastly PAINT poured all over it. And not washable paint. Paint like house paint. Only one incident was caught on camera at the school, and it took TWO weeks for the students to be punished (with a measly few days of suspension). I'm sure that FINALLY happened only because I kept pressing the issue (my son was told by the vice-principal to stop asking if they knew who it was or what was going to be done about it). My son has had mustard thrown on him (stained his white pants), soap thrown on him, and he has been threatened. Of course the student who made the threat denied it, so again, nothing done. The campus police officer (if you can call her that), Officer Provencio is a freaking joke. I'm sure she works at the school because she couldn't hang on the streets. She is rude, arrogant, incompetent and thinks she is owed respect simply because she puts on her uniform every day. You can't have a conversation with her because she will talk over you and cut you off every chance she gets, then hang up on you (like a tantrum-throwing child) if you say something she doesn't like. I've dealt with two different vice principals, the learning director and even the useless principal, Mr. Sutton. There is absolutely NO consistency in discipline. My son was suspended from school for a "verbal altercation" after arguing with another kid in class over a seat, but the kid who threw mustard on my son got one day of in-house suspension. Mr. Sutton's advice to me was to make sure my son reports every incident to the office, "and the student involved will be addressed accordingly." My son DID report every incident (instead of taking matters into his own hands which became increasingly difficult NOT to do) and NOTHING happened. When I complained about my son getting soap thrown on him, this joke of a principal told me (and I quote) that the student who did it "was horse playing, throwing soap on several people," not just my son. How does that make it okay? You'd think that would make it worse, but maybe I'm thinking too logically. I get that it's only soap, but that's not the point. It is still unwelcome, which makes it harassment, especially when the asshole who did it has been involved in other incidents with my son. My son quit the football team and dropped his optional zero period class to distance himself from all of this, but it didn't help. Finally we decided to un-enroll him from this treacherous, garbage school and do independent study. It's for the best, but it's still unfortunate that my son is going to miss his senior year with his friends because this school failed him. I kept him home the entire last week of school besides a few minutes today. He went to campus today (the last day of school) only to turn in his computer and pick up paperwork to dis-enroll. He was there no longer than 20 minutes, and encountered some of the asshole kids (who were roaming around campus during class time with no consequences, as usual). He was back home no more than 10 minutes before the POS Officer Provencio showed up AT OUR HOUSE, telling my son there was "an anonymous tip" that he had a handgun in his glovebox. Are you freaking kidding me? I understand follow up is necessary, but it's not a coincidence that the first time my son was on campus in a week, after encountering these kids, there was a "tip." Nobody in our home owns a handgun, and we denied the officer permission to search his car or the home, and she was not happy about it. She basically told my son that he brought everything upon himself, that he was disrespectful and "wasn't raised right." She was just pissed her "authority" couldn't get her what she wanted. SOOOO glad I will never have to deal with this school again.

This school has horrible security, my son has told me that there are groups of 10+ boys in the…read morerestrooms all smoking together and the security even encourages they smoke! He told me the security told the group of students to keep smoking or else they were "p***ies". There is supposed to be security walking around the school everyday but suddenly when a group of guys starts fighting all the security disappear! And don't get me started on their joke of a curriculum. My son says the teachers don't explain anything in the lessons, they just give the answers for the assignments so the students don't complain. This school is completely outrageous! The school has metal detectors but students are being let in by security even when they have a backpack full of vapes! This school needs to replace every employee with someone who truly cares for the children and not just their paycheck.

Don't enroll your kids here, better off teaching them yourself…read more... teachers don't do their jobs, they don't teach the kids they bully them and their parents until they feel like a failure for not being able to provide a tutor for my child who again doesn't learn They let bullies bully, they tell you they'll help you out and go behind your back just to do what they say Once again it's F that school. On another edition of this place is h*ll on earth Im going to start off with these letters they send out, first of all they didn't ask me if I was available, didn't call me back when I tried to tell them to shove it. I'm so tired of these letters. "YoUr SoN mIsSeD 5 wHoLe DaYs" So they say they don't get paid per attendance but freak out over 5 days. MY SON WAS SICK, they weren't in a row. I'm his mother any reason I see fit is excused, again I'm his mother, birth giver. I send him to school sometimes sick, f everyone's kids right? BUT I need the nurse to send him home. Oh but wait they can have "teacher conferences" and give our child the day off when THEY see fit instead of meeting on a Saturday I'm TIRED of this school. These letters make me wana homeschool my child.

The bathroom always smells gross and theres toilet paper all over the floor and ceiling. The teachers are disrespectful, my daughter said she heard kids play music with inappropriate words in it and Ms. Bell didn't do anything about it. My daughter didnt learn multiplication in 4th grade! She said that her teacher would just teach her for 20 minutes and thats it! The kids there are really disrespectful too and act like highschoolers when they are only 10! Again, DO NOT COME TO THIS SCHOOL!

We just get a mass email with limited information and told to call with questions yet no one is ever there to answer the phone regardless of the time being called. Insist on a transfer to any other school…read more My son was originally assigned to this school, and came home telling me about his teacher being stalked/threatened by her boyfriend. After a little bit of investigating, I found out that his teacher (2nd grade) was receiving cell phone calls during class time. The conversations were inappropriate for any child to hear of and the professionality of the teacher had to be questioned. Understandably, my son was worried that his teacher was going to be hurt because of what the teacher shared with the class. NO child should have to deal with this these kind of issues! To make matters worse, trying to reason with the teacher was impossible. She refused to keep her private life private. I thought that speaking with the principal would help resolve this issue, but the principal refused to assist in any way. After the principal refused to speak with the teacher, I insisted on a classroom transfer--no such luck. I was left with no other choice but to keep my son home until changes could be made. The next morning after my son was absent, I received a call from the principal, threatening me with criminal sanctions for keeping my son out of school! I had to pay a visit to the school district and file a grievance. I was immediately given a transfer to another school, but I have lost so much respect for this school district. Needless to say, Los Banos Unified will not be educating my child--EVER, nor will they ever receive my vote for increased funding. IF YOUR CHILD MUST ATTEND THIS SCHOOL AND YOU CANNOT GET A TRANSFER OR AFFORD PRIVATE SCHOOLING, BE SURE TO MAKE MANY UNANNOUNCED VISITS TO THE CLASSROOM.
