Had a great experience at the Cleveland Clinic's travel clinic before going to Africa for a couple…read moreof weeks. It was very easy to make an appointment there and only required a 40 dollar deposit which was applied to my end bill. I was very impressed at the knowledge and organization of our Doctor, Nancy Ivonovsek (sp?). She was not only very helpful and had all the right resources but was extremely interactive and friendly. I fear sometimes that bedside manner is becoming a lost art in the medical world but this was not that case in my experience at the travel clinic! One of the drawbacks of the travel clinic is that they don't take any health insurance. However, they were kind enough on the phone to educate me on this and tell me which shots I could get free from my primary care physician for instead of them. Also, their billing system appears a bit out of date, as we paid in full before leaving, however were still sent a bill since it was taking weeks for our payment to actually show up on our account. Still sorting that out a bit but I don't think it'll be an issue. Overall my experience was top notch and I could see easily why the Clinic is a world class facility. One particular note that blew me away was that initially the doctor had forgotten one of hte prescriptions to give us that we asked for but was not necessary for all travelers (Diamox - altitude medecine). It accidentally slipped all of our minds as the appointment went on. Our appointment was on a Friday and I meant to call them the following week to inquire about it but was dreading going through the red tape of telling them that the doctor had already approved it, etc. To my surprise, the following Monday Dr. Ivanosek herself called my cell phone and apologized for forgetting to write that prescription. Since I was out of town they went to the trouble of mailing it to my apartment so I still had the option to go to whatever pharamcy and I wanted and it was ready when I got back. Very impressive!

Dr Bindra is an Endocrinologist. He was 'assigned' to the ICU at Southwest General Hospital when I…read morewas staying there due to complications with my newly diagnosed diabetes. I was terrified and uneducated on the disease and had no idea what to expect. Dr Bindra was very patient and thorough. I never felt like he was rushing to see other patients and he made me feel at ease while he was treating me. THe day I was released from the hospital was the worst day of my life... I was in true panic and called his office where I was assisted by his amazing staff. Megan provided me with a solution to my chaos and honestly, may have saved my life that day. I decided to keep seeing Dr Bindra for regular treatment and I am so glad that I did. He and his staff take excellent care of me, make booking appointments easy, and I never have to wait when I visit his office. He is very kind and calm and answers all of my questions thoroughly. I highly recommend Dr Sanjit Bindra for your endocrinological and diabetes care.

I became pregnant with 2nd and everything was a downward spiral. He made me wait forever for a 2 min prenatal appt. while I could hear him talking through walls word for word to other patients. He tried scaring me with "YouTube" videos to get tdap which is a category C not tested safe for pregnancy but he never told me the benefits of delayed cord clamping (if he really cared about my baby, no he just wanted to sell vaccines) anyways, at the end of pregnancy he pushed C section when not needed bc baby was "measuring big" in ultrasound. Then he was impossible to get ahold of to even schedule the csection. I ended up going into labor at home 2 weeks early and called him at 4 am. He ignored the fact I was in labor and asked when we were going to schedule the CSection, and when I explained how far apart my contractions were and if I should go to hospital, he asked me to remember what he told me the last time I was in his office?? I told him I don't remember! But I would be having the baby today not via csection and he discouraged me from going to the hospital saying I would only be at 2/3 cm and they would send me home. I was amazed at his rudeness and wanted anyone even an Uber driver to deliver my baby before him. When I got to hospital I was fully dilated, delivered with no epidural and all he could say was "that escalated quickly" I tried to stay at the practice by going to Dr. Knotek but she couldn't seem to get a prescription to CVS and she could care less about how Dr. Grossman treated me, so my lesson was I wish I had gone to a midwife or Dr. Svets, anyone but this place. Avoid!
