She over charged me for sessions where all she did was talk about her issues or made excuses for her mistakes. She screwed up prescriptions and blamed me for it while refusing to fix her errors or respond to the pharmacies inquiries. She got me banned from several pharmacies for writing a prescription for a medication I wasn't on and didn't ask for, and sent the same prescription to the wrong pharmacy 6 times causing CVS to refuse me. She also refused to contact any pharmacy to answer questions about her prescriptions. She charged me for 4 sessions to change the same medication that no longer worked but refusal to confirm with the pharmacy led to being untreated resulting in the loss of my job, and many life consequences that she didn't care about. She the medically abandoned me twice once for passing drug tests she was trying to use to justify me being abused and the second for blaming me for her mistakes and her failure to follow her own policies. She changed the doses of my medication when I first saw her without my knowledge or consent resulting in me dropping out of medical school. She plays favorites and will not be there for you when you need it. I trusted her and almost lost my life several times for it to be medically abandoned. I used her for 7 years and paid $140,000 and all I have is record of her own life problems and no chance to find treatment. Hopefully you are someone she likes because she will neglect you otherwise

Our experience with North Port Behavioral was extremely disappointing, particularly regarding…read morecommunication, staffing, provider involvement, and discharge planning. Our 11-year-old daughter was admitted for inpatient psychiatric care. The facility is FOUR hours from our home, and because communication was so poor, I ultimately had to get a hotel nearby just to remain close to her. Much of what I knew about how she was doing came directly from my daughter during visitation. I made FOUR separate requests for an update in one day, and not one was returned. I never once spoke with her treating provider during her entire stay. The staffing issues were also obvious. One scheduled one-hour visitation was reduced to approximately 15 minutes because staff were so understaffed that they could not get us back to visitation in a timely manner. The discharge process was even more concerning. On the day she was discharged, I showed up expecting our scheduled visitation and was simply told, "Oh, she's being discharged." I received no meaningful advance notice and never spoke with her provider about the discharge. Most concerning, we left without meaningful follow-up care established. A referral was sent to a town far from where we live, despite repeatedly correcting them that we live near St. Augustine, NOT Fort Lauderdale. The referral was inappropriate, and I am now having to contact DCF for assistance because I still have not heard from North Port Behavioral to rectify the situation. I understand psychiatric facilities are busy and that staff face difficult circumstances. However, that does not excuse four unanswered requests for an update, never allowing a parent to speak with the treating provider, drastically shortened visitation due to staffing, or discharging a child without proper advance communication and appropriate follow-up care. Families deserve better communication, coordination, and discharge planning than what we experienced here.
