Enjoying the poached egg with avocado. The music makes this place very special.

Concept Cafe for Cyclists As a cyclist I was recommended this place by a friend and decided to visit on a Sunday morning. It is a vibrant cafe which has a good selection of breakfast. A comfortable seating area just for diners and a space by the window for the laptop brigade. The latter can happily type away sitting on their stools looking out at the hustle of the street. It also provides a workshop that fixes your bike while you have your meal. The first thing you notice is the cycling related items including the ancient bicycles that are arranged at the front of the cafe. Next the funky music hits you. If you like funk, like me, you will be chilled for the rest of the stay. The staff, and their were lots of them on a Sunday morning, were polite and quick to get the order down. I had the Toast with avocado, salad and poached egg. Healthy and well made. I also ordered a latte which was a bit too milky for my taste. I sat down, enjoyed my breakfast, and planned where to hit next on this free Sunday morning. This is an excellent spot to chill and I cannot recommend it more to the cycling loners out there.

This place was fantastic. I was looking for a cool, unique local place that wasn't super touristy where is could sit and get some serious coursework done for a few hours. This was a great fit, they have a wall full of outlets set up bar style and in the back is a single seating area that's cozier than just a desk style. Thy had a great atmosphere which was a little loud but nothing that headphones couldn't fix. They played stellar music too and had good coffee drinks. They also had a whole eating area for people seated at tables which made it a great lunch place, although I didn't get to try the food. Overall great experience and I recommend it to study by oneself or grab lunch or dinner with a group.

    Cute wall right outside!

Loved this place! It's so trendy and cute! It's a pretty large space inside and also has outdoor seating. It's also part bike shop which is where it gets its name! I went with my roommate and the food was pretty good although it's a little on the pricier side. I got the passion fruit smoothie and it was DELICIOUS! My favorite part of the cafe and I can't stop thinking about going back for another one! The decor is also really cute and it has a great atmosphere and vibe. It definitely has an instagrammable wall and whatnot, too! They had a pretty cool staff and good customer service, as well. I would definitely recommend this cafe!

3.5 stars. Sadly didnt get the chance to try any of the food, but the flat white was just okay. What I really loved about his place is the atmosphere and plenty of couch seating with a lot of outlets. Laptops arent allowed on the tables (to avoid freeriders) and they claim that they can turn the wifi off during extremely busy lunch hours, but they didn't on the day I was there. Would still drop by if I am in the area.

In my quest to find creative spaces to work, behold...Look Mum No Hands! This quirky little cafe-slash-bicycle supply shop gives new meaning to the term biker bar. With bicycles adorning its main window facing Old Street, to bike racks and benches out front, to the bicycle repair and supplies shop inside, it's hipster to the 10th power But I'm from San Francisco so we pretty much invented hipsters. Aside from your usual coffee-latte-chai selection, you can grub on salad, quiches and light snacks. I had a goat cheese quiche with salad that was light and tasty - with cherry tomatoes and sweet potatoes drizzled in vinaigrette. Order at the counter and they bring your order to you. When you're a freelancer like me, you'll appreciate what I believe to the BEST part: Outlets can be found along the couches, which is also the best place to prop open your laptop. Give me couch, a power outlet and some food and good luck trying to get rid of me! Side note: No wifi from 11-4 Saturday and Sunday and from 11-2 Monday to Friday.

    Will need hands for this!

"When bikes and coffee collide..." The cute name aside, this place is legit. I don't have a bike that needs fixing (or throbbing over) -- I'm too worried that I'll 1. get hit by a taxi, 2. get hit by a bus or 3. get stolen. But I do love coffee and I do love sweet potato soup! A gal pal and I stopped in for a late Sunday lunch and enjoyed cold salad plates (this is a thing in London that I love -- salad plates, mixed all together and wonderful) -- green beans, noodles, all sorts of things. The sweet potato soup with corinader and coconut though? Out of this world -- hands needed, hands needed! Dig in. Counter service, a pretty laid back cafe. The din is minimal as folks hum over their laptops (free wifi abound). I actually do prefer the mellower vibe of Timberyard a few doors down, but "Look Mum No Hands!" is a pretty darn close second.

    £3.50 for a "thick" slice...
    Katherine R.

Food is good at this 2in1, bike and cafe shop. Low star rating after recent visit, for ridiculous prices/portions. Paid £3.50 for a meagre portion of the vegan pumpkin cake. I complained, and was told it was a thick slice. You decide, picture of fork hiding slice of cake.

This place is in Alex's list of great spots to have coffee and today, I had the chance to taste it myself. They have free wi-fi here, and I'm writing this on my laptop while taking little sips of sweetness. My mocca is very warm and creamy, but I can't wait for it to cool down until I drink. The place has a lovely interior that makes you feel comfy and relaxed. It is quiet and almost empty at such an early hour, but this way I can focus on work and enjoy my morning. I also tried their freshly baked croissant with butter and jam which gave me even more strength to start the week. Having this place in my area, I already know I'll be back soon.

To begin with.. I love the name! First thought it's a bike repair shop only, but entering it .. you'll be like WoW this is a super cozy café, too! Delicious sandwiches, quiches and hot drinks are waiting for you. Prices are very london style, but I got over that shock already.. Nice atmosphere in a very special place!

"Look mum, no hands". I still remember shouting that to my mum when I was 11 and her shrieked reply of "Bethany, watch what you're doing!" - the look of horror on her face. Today however, no horror, no screaming but instead a unusual yet intriguing bike shop/cafe which has become infamous throughout Europe. We walked in and grabbed a table. We were here for a brainstorming session so we were looking for a relaxed work/lunch space and this place definitely fitted the bill! As you enter you can't help but stare at the different bikes on the roof and the quirky but simple interior. The food menu is varied and quite particular (in regards to salads - no fruit on my salad please) but the spread is vast and presented well on top of the counter and in the fridge. The woman behind the counter was slightly grumpy if I'm honest and not very warming but I ordered my food and grabbed a seat! I opted for the avocado/guacamole and wild mushroom on toast and the mushroom frittata topped with chorizo. I was hungry. The avocado and wild mushrooms on toast was truly delicious! There was a hint of lime running through the avocado and it complimented the mushrooms perfectly! As for the frittata, I liked it, I didn't love it - it became very samey very quickly and I found it slightly dull in flavour. Overall though I had a truly pleasant experience at Look mum, no hands and really enjoyed our session there. OH and don't forget they have a bike shop for all you cycling enthusiasts out there!

A very very very cool bicycle and coffee/food/hangout cafe bar in the very very very cool district of Clerkenwell. I popped here a couple of times for coffees while staying and working close by and the beans were right on the money, served up by very friendly staff. The general vibe is rough, ready, relaxing - just a great place overall. Great music too. I did pop in on the last day of my visit to grab a very tasty organic sausage and avocado roll - lovely sausage and bread, just be careful if you're in a rush and want it to go as it probably took about 15 mins to come out. Not their fault - just a heads up if you're in a rush as everything is cooked fresh. I'm not massively into bikes so I'll let some other reviewers tell you about that side of the business ;-)

This is probably the ideal coffee shop to take my husband. While it's a nice (comfy, quiet, trendy) coffee shop to fulfill my needs, it also doubles as a bicycle repair shop to fulfill his needs. We rarely agree on coffee shops, but I think this might be the one place where we do. This place is located around the corner from my office. Every time that I have walked by there are always people working on laptops or informal business meetings occurring. Therefore, I came with the expectation that I may be able to get some work done. However, I think that I came at the wrong time (5pm) as this is when the coffee shop transforms into a pub. They serve beer & wine & coffee, which is great and all but the atmosphere was a bit more pubish in the evenings. This is my only complaint. On the other hand, the staff are very friendly. They have great customer service, which is not often found in London. The coffee is well coffee. All coffee tastes the same to me--maybe I'm a coffee moron. Overall, I'd come back, but I'd be aware of what time I came regarding work and noise level. It's great for a beer and conversation in the evening, but not so much work. I imagine that during the day it's the very opposite! :-)

Just about tells you everything you need to know about this place and NOT in a good way!

Have to say this place was a huge disappointment. The place looked busy but what place doesn't that offers free Wi Fi? Switch it off and people melt away. Its hugely important to remember that the prices that LMNH are charging reflect more what they can get away with rather than the quality of what's being served. Too many coffee shops see the amount of froth they give on a latte as a good way of enhancing their profit margins. Considering the small size of the cup LMNH uses the amount of froth served means that the actual amount of coffee you get is pitifully small for just shy of £3. I was also surprised to note that the coffee wasn't anywhere close to being 'hot'. Given the choice I'd have a Starbucks 'Clover' over this any day. My mate a non-coffee drinker (I know I know) had a hot (supposedly) Chocolate. lets just say you wouldn't want to be serving this to the kids as they'd bouncing off the walls for days judging by the sweetness. Again it would be perfectly possible to sell a quality hot chocolate for the price and size LMNH serve but nowhere near as profitable. Didn't have time to get any food but the prices looked off putting. In fairness the salad did look a good size. If I had to sum up LMNH it would be "All mouth and no trousers" or "Look! The Emporer has no clothes on!" Others might look the other way when it comes to quality because it's 'trendy' but I don't and won't!!!!

Together we chose a bike suitable for me, mudguards, a back rack and a cycling jacket, coming together to just under £600. He sent me away with a receipt for the quote and knew that it might take two or three weeks for my hire certificate to come through from my employer. I asked him if the bike could be kept on one side for me - he said it couldn't (reason unclear) but seemed to think that the model I wanted wouldn't go out of stock. A few days ago I rang him to let him know that I was still waiting for the hire agreement to be processed and to check the bike we'd chosen would still be in stock. He assured me that it would be. The voucher finally came through at the end of last week and this Monday morning, at the first opportunity, I visited the store to hand it over and get the bike properly ordered. You can guess what happened - I was told that the bike is no longer available "in any size", as if I'd want a size that isn't right for me. I am very disappointed. I now have to cancel the voucher, tell my employer not to make the salary deductions from next month and start the whole bureaucratic process again. It seems to me that Evans don't take this scheme seriously - or they'd find a way of making sure this didn't happen. They have lost me as a customer as a result. I shall try a small independent shop next time, where maybe the bike deals aren't quite always as good but at least I might actually end up with a bike.

It must stem from my appreciation of using a space to it's fullest potential. Why just be a bike store when you can also put a cafe in there! Needless to say this shop really has lots to offer beyond just the food, though that is my favourite part. So far I've tried the croissants and pain au chocolat, two types of Luscombe juices, and a flat white. Originally I wanted an iced coffee but the barista said they only serve them hot though he proceeded to mention the cold juice they have in the fridge. The coffee was good, smooth and proper, but I started getting the juice mostly because it's cold, delicious, organic, and comes in a large glass bottle. The pastries made for good afternoon snacks as well. I can't personally vouch for the bike related aspects though I did see lots of customers come in to either pick up their bike or bring it in. Either way I think this is a nice addition to Berwick Street and I've enjoyed waiting out my computer issues in the comfort of their cafe.

And for someone like me, who tends to get a tad lost, you get to see even MORE of the city. I picked up one bike near Hyde Park Corner and rode it to South Kensington. Then a second from South Ken to Sloane Square. And a third from Sloane Square to Victoria. The downsides: - You must have a "chip & pin" card to rent. American "swipe & sign" cards are not accepted. - It's quite frustrating when you do finally manage to find a cycle rack to return your cycle and all the slots are full. While you can add another 15 minutes of riding time for free, you're not where you want to be. - The three bikes I've rented had an annoying tendency of shifting gears at the most inopportune times. All of these are journeys I otherwise would not have taken, or at the very least would not have been nearly as enjoyable as they were on a bike. I find myself now waking up at the weekend thinking about where I'm gonna ride. With more than 300 hire points located throughout central London and 5,000 bikes in total, I have high hopes that it will help London become a kinder, gentler place. The bikes feel a bit better than the Paris Vélib' and the front basket with its elastic cord held my purse snugly. No problems. Don't expect this every time you go but it shows how far they go to make sure everyone leaves with a smile. They're great :D

Yet another shocking experience from Evans Cycles. They've had my bike for five days and only go…read morethe repair it when I turn up to collect it. It was meant to be ready on Friday but I couldn't collect as I was off work. You think they'd have it ready three days later! Having been advised it would 'just take five minutes' I was still waiting ten minutes later. This is the second time in a row this branch have made me wait while they repair my bike, despite coming back for collection. Last time they rushed the repair and I had to bring it back two more times to be done again. What's the betting they rush this repair and I break down on the way home? Next time I'll be using The London Bicycle Company round the corner - they're a professional organisation. Further to my last review - to top it all off after they rushed my bike repair on the spot I pointed out to Evans Waterloo that this is when mistakes happen - queue - a problem with my gears on the way home; what a surprise! They had messed up the gears when replacing the back wheel inner tube and I was missing a gear. They made such a mess of re-repairing my bike last time I just got my husband to fix it this time. On my first interaction with Evans I really felt they couldn't organize a children's tea party let alone repair a bike. The only reason I returned this time was because I have an injured ankle and I couldn't walk far enough with a flat tire to get to the London Bicycle Company. This time Evans Waterloo really excelled themselves proving that they can't even repair a flat tire - nice work guys. DO NOT USE THIS SHOP - they're utter amateurs.

I think the reason this store is worth a mention over many of the other Evans Cycles stores is that…read moreit is set-up as Road specialist store. This means that most of their bike stock, clothing, and accessories are geared up towards road bikes. Out of interest there is a mountain bike specialist around the corner on Waterloo Road. As a road specialist the store and its staff are very much geared up for giving you the best advice and support for road bikes. Whenever I've been in here it has always been busy, but the staff are very helpful when you get to speak with them, and are never in a rush to get rid of you and serve the next person. They finish with you when you are good and ready. The store is well laid out and there is room for wheeling in your bike.

It is located in a fairly old building and the only disabled/wheelchair entrance due to the oddly shaped step going into the store is the offputting, dirty, back "staff entrance" I have long avoided this store as its name Llilywhites is associated with Tottenham Hotspur FC - I stupidly thought this was actually their club shop until I noticed a sign which confused me "The world's finest sports store", after doing some research later I found the name comes from the family which used to own and run the store, located at 25 Regent St since the year of 1925 - it is nice to see it is still in its' original old building, which surely must be Grade listed by now - fairly impressive for a sports shop and especially considering it is now owned by the UK's largest sports retailer, for them to keep the original branding including the website (same website as Sports Direct just with the Lilywhites logo), despite other branches in other cities changing hands such as Leeds, Newcastle and Nottingham. It seems despite seeming to be a higher-end brand the overall store feel and layout is the same - and that includes the staff who didn't seem friendly or helpful by any means to struggling disabled customers or just shoppers looking to find something. It is over multiple floors and does have a decent selection, however. Is it as good as Sports Direct's flagship central London location? No, of course not - other than keeping the brand name it seems the store which seemed so historic and cool has become a boring branded store in every other regard, it's just a more expensive Sports Direct without improved quality/service etc. 2* - For the store size and location, nothing else.
