Their equipment may be aging or in need of a callibration. The Table was vibrating fiercely during the last half of study and loud enough to drown out the voice of technician throught the headphones - never heard a word they said. The repeated tactic of desk staff attempting to pre-collect a fee well in excess of co-pay by claiming they could "see in insurance computer system that my deductible had not yet been met" is a smarmy tactic. One that undermines the professionalism one expects from an extablished practice. This in an of itself will dissuade me from returning. read more

These people understand going over and beyond for there clients and persons served. I have never met a team of individuals who are constant in getting job done in all aspects. Jasmine and her team came through even after the services was paid and help get all information to the correct parties even when other DRs offices were not as helpful. If you need imaging and want to be treated with compassion, empathy and all around human being going through a traumatic experience. Please do yourself and your family the favor and go to them. I will be coming to them over any Hospital if I can. Only complaint was the headphones used for music was a little low in volume but even then where do you know who does that for the client to allow for overall comfort during an MRI. read more

I had an excellent experience here. My orthopedist was able to schedule a same-day appointment (on a Friday, no less) within about an hour's notice. The office staff at Longwood MRI handled the insurance authorization seamlessly, and--perhaps most important--in no time at all, without which I would not have been able to get in the same day. The scan itself was fast and straightforward, the tech was helpful, and the images were available immediately both through an online portal and on a CD that was given to me before I left. The report was available within 24 hours, as promised. And probably most important to me, when I had a question concerning the diagnosis, I e-mailed them and Dr. Schwartz uploaded an additional report with an addendum directly addressing my question within 24 hours of the e-mail. Fir the second time in a row, the incredibly rude "ladies" at the front desk attempted to make me pay almost $500 for an MRI claiming this was a dedeuctible. Even after my insurance company CALLED THEM to explain that the MRI was not considered part of my deductible they refused to listen. I had forgotten that I had this experience with them a couple of years ago and had to have my insurance call them to resolve it. This time I decided to cancel and ask for my money back- I don't want to give my money to these incredibly rude, ignorant people. I've had many MRI at Shields and its never been a problem. When I said that I wanted to cancel my appointment they said " Go ahead try the hospital, see how that works." I replied I'm going to Shields, who they then tried to discredit. Even if the MRI had been part of my deductible, there was only $50 something dollars left on the deductible. So where did the $500 come from? You have to wonder- were these women scamming me? read more

This is my first review, and it won't be my last, but I felt compelled to write a review of this MRI center. Longwood MRI is an incredible experience (note, if the words incredible and MRI are in the same sentence... you're on the right track). I have gotten one other MRI before so I had negative expectations about the experience. Longwood MRI was affordable, efficient, and most importantly they cared about the care I received. The staff are kind and helpful - the doctor who reads the scan is available if you have any questions about your scan after you get it done. I wasn't surprised to learn that Longwood MRI is a family business. The way they treat their patients is unlike most medical facilities around today: they still do it family-style, with only one center run by a husband and wife. Actually managed to pay 1/10 of the price I would have paid anywhere else without compromising quality. read more

I currently had two MRIs and x-rays and they took the time to speak with the insurance companies about my case. They are friendly, classy and kind. Danielle is amazing, she runs the office. I have been in other medical offices before so I know how things can go, and she is incredibly personable and efficient. The people behind the desk didn't understand how my insurance worked so we had to have an almost 30 minute phone call with them. Because of this I have to rebook my travel to NY for tonight. Ridiculous and unprofessional how slow they are. read more

Great and fast service. Had a knee MRI taken last year. Very effective, reasonably priced and worked with my health insurance. The doctor is an expert and the report helped my physician address the issue better. I would recommend to a friend and go back here if I have to. read more

When you need to confirm whether or not you have a brain (or any other organ), come here. Of the maybe nine places at which I've had brain scans done over the past decade and a half (yes, whether or not I have a brain remains that up in the air), Longwood MRI is by far my favorite. The people who work here are fantastic--from the front desk staff to the radiologist to the president. Phenomenal medical expertise and phenomenal customer service (and free parking and free coffee), all in a small center that will spare you the bureaucratic nonsense of so many of the in-hospital imaging departments. When I checked in for my scan, the receptionist had already figured out how to approach the insurance claim such that I didn't end up having to pay anything for the test. (At many other places, they won't take the time to determine what exactly is and is not covered by your specific plan. In this case, it wouldn't be covered if the indication was partial seizures or migraine headaches, whereas it would be if the indication was simply headaches.) The test itself was as such tests should be, and I have complete faith in the radiologist here. When the test was over and I was checking out, the receptionist handed me a CD of the scan--souvenir! (At all but one other place I've been to, CDs are not automatically given to the patient but have to be requested later on. Being given the CD before you even leave the office is far more convenient because you'll already have it on hand should you need to give it to a new doctor or have it uploaded into a hospital's system.) Also particularly impressive was how, when I randomly showed up here one day with a question about how to go about getting a reading of a pelvic scan that had been done elsewhere, the director (?) of the center took me to her office and answered all my questions about my options. She was both incredibly nice and incredibly helpful--not to mention cool as well. read more

Radiologist great. Desk staff not so much ( Danielle on phone was terrific ). Desk person was rude, abrupt, just didnt care ( it's just a job, that was clear). Doesn't treat patient as a customer but as as annoyance. Better to have Danielle or someone else answer phone and deal with insurance , pre-authorization and other issues. They are also poor compared to other offices with submitting claims and dealing with insurance issues- no patience and , again- no real concern. If this staffing problem could be solved the place would be great to go to. read more

I am scanned twice a year and feel very comfortable with the procedure and confident with results. The office staff are very client friendly. Dr. Schwartz is very available to clients. I highly recommend Longwood MRI. read more

Let me start by saying that the Staff in the MRI room are great and they is the only reason this review is two stars. Otherwise it would be negative if possible. The reception/front desk staff are anther story. My orthopedic doctor sent me here for an MRI. The front desk staff are very abrupt and rude. They are not nice at all. They don't explain anything. Instead they just bark orders at you and demand payment. If you need an MRI please choose somewhere else. I wish I had used the MGH MRI facility in Chelsea where I had gone in the past. I was early for my appt and they kept me waiting 30 minutes. They even took someone who came in after me first. Avoid this provider until they hire front desk staff that are at least cordial. read more

Absolute nightmare!!! Between waiting for over two hours, staff arguing and swearing and not getting along and doing this in front of a room full of waiting patients(3 times mind you), to the receptionist being off her rocker and an absolute mess , a day I do not want to repeat!!! read more

I had an MRA done at Longwood MRI today - an MRI with a lot of injections in my hip. I'm needle phobic (having had a number of traumatic nerve injections), and find the prospect of getting any sort of injection unnerving. Ashley was super helpful and supportive, and the front desk staff were helpful and cheerful. Dr. Schwartz was extremely competent and put me at ease. I have had a few MRIs at hospitals in the area, and have had a great deal of painful injections - this was by far the best experience I've had with either. The injections were minimally painful and the whole process was a breeze. If you need an MRI, I would recommend this place above all others. read more

I hate giving bad reviews but patients and Longwood MRH Specialist need to know. The best word for the front staff at Longwood MRI Specialists is UNPROFESSIONAL. I was not greeted when I entered, I was not spoken to until after the TWO women sitting were finished with 1 work call and 1 personal call. (I could hear everything they were talking about. HIPPA does not apply here I guess.) I was then asked for my name and insurance card. No niceties, papers were given to me to fill out. When I gave the papers back I was informed that I would have to pay my deductible before my scan. When I ask why, I was told "85% of patients don't pay after their procedures". So every one of your patients fit into the 85%? If that is your way of conducting your business fine. A note at the front desk stating that business practice, and notification when placing the appointment would be good. I had stepped away from the front desk to discuss the payment with my husband, I overheard the main front staffer say, "She don't know if she can afford to pay". This was just rude and I had had enough. Your front staff needs to be trained with people skills and how to run the front of the office. Never again. You lost a client and gained a negative review. Most business cannot afford that. read more

I recently (7/1/2015) had an MRI done at Longwood MRI in Brookline. I had to pay up front which is fine, but, I asked if they were going to submit the claim to BCBS and I was told yes before I left. As of today, this claim that I was told was going to be submitted wasn't. On 7/1/2015 I had an appointment with an Orthopedic Dr. that referred me to them (this isn't my first time here) but, with new insurance that doesn't have a co-pay until it is submitted is difficult to just cough up a bunch of money and then plead for a refund (if any) from the payee. I called today (7/8/2015) and was told it hasn't been submitted yet and I really don't see why it takes so long to submit when everything is done electronically. There is obviously no reason with sliding my credit card and receiving $638. I have never had an issue with Longwood before, but, I do think if I need anymore scans I would rather wait in line at BIDMC and not wait for or have to call to see if my claim is submitted. This is very frustrating! I had no problems with the staff, i'm just appalled as to how long it takes to submit a claim, something needs to be done about the time between the patient leaving from a scan and the time it take to submit claims to the insurance company. My star rating is not about staff, just the amount of time it takes for the electronic paper work to be done. read more
