Literally like pulling teeth!!! The amount of times they rescheduled me is mind blowing. Its not like they call you the day before they wait til you took off work, drive to the appointment, then call 15 mins beforehand. This didn't happen just once but literally 5 times! Today i finally had the cleaning and mid cleaning the front desk girl who is EXTREMELY RUDE walked in and canceled my filling appointment AGAIN after i was getting worked on! My mind is blown. Not to mention the sign on the door says MASKS PERMITTED and both front desk girls had it on there chins the whole time even when i walked up! How is this ok? Maybe its the fact that I'm in the medical field and i know how a patient should be treated. The front desk is unprofessional. They will sit behind the desk and talk shot about clients while other clients are sitting in the lobby They have you come in alot without doing anything. And still bill insurance. Won't be back!! read more

Had a bad experience here. Came in for extraction and they made a schedule for me. Come in on time and they said sorry, we lost your appointment and gave it to someone else. They said they would call back but never did. I call back and the girl says it could be three weeks till I can schedule you in. What morons. read more

Never been to the dentist in my entire life because of my anxiety I'm 21 now and went in to get over 10 cavity's filled deep cleaning and 2 teeth pulled I'm glad I got the courage to go to the dentist and have my teeth fixed up :) the dentist guy is really nice he says he's proud of me for going through months of getting my teeth fixed up I faced my dental fear and most importantly it was at a nice dental office they show such compassion and kindness I couldn't have asked to be in better hands :) now when I go I'm not scared anymore and always look forward to keeping my teeth in check I recommend this place 5/5 stars all the way !!! :) read more

This dental clinic is ridiculous. The dentist had my husband make a spur of the moment decision, while in the chair, in pain, needing a tooth extraction, about dentures or partials/bridgework. He pushed my husband into making a decision, without a proper consultation, and we pre-paid $100 for the bridgework and, upon further investigation, we decided that bridgework was not the way to go. We called the office and asked for the money to be refunded. We paid the amount in cash, mind you and pre-paid for services that were not done. The office manager tried to talk us out of this but we were adamant. My husband just wanted full dentures, which were covered 100% under our insurance vs. bridgework, which would cost us over $1000 according to the estimate that my husband signed. The receptionist told us that the receipt was not correct and we wouldn't have to pay that amount. I asked how a person was supposed to know that based on what was written and she said that we were to simply call and find out that information. Well, I'm sorry, but that was extremely hinky and my spidey sense shifted into overdrive. We live on my husband's VA disability pension and make under $1000 per month, so to put out over $1000 on bridgework, that was pushed on my husband, without a proper consultation, was just ridiculous. The office manager tried to tell us that they didn't have $100 in the office. Well, I'm sorry, but if they take cash payments (and they do, we have the receipt), they have $100. This was just a stalling tactic. The office manager noted that I had not been in the clinic since I had canceled my appointment back in September 2015. I told her she was correct, I would not be back in. The dentist couldn't take 2 seconds to look at my allergy list and tried to prescribe me two different meds that I was allergic to. I'm not ok with that, nor am I ok with the dentist saying that he wasn't going to deal with me. I didn't ask for these allergies, they came about from being over-prescribed antibiotics from...guess who...dentists! I had a knee replacement and this clinic couldn't even be bothered to call the surgeon to find out if I needed to take a "pre-med" or not. I had to drive 40 miles out of my way, to a doctor that didn't know me from Adam, to be prescribed a very heavy duty antibiotic that made me super sick. It was only when I complained about how sick I was that the clinic got on the phone with my surgeon's office to find out that this mega dose of antibiotics was not necessary. Needless to say, I was not impressed and had decided that this was absolutely not the clinic for me. Well, the office manager told us that they would have a check for our $100 by the end of the day. I had to call them and tell them that I would need to know what time exactly as we live 25 miles out of town, one way. They said to come in at such and such time. We were there and they made the check out to me, not my husband and didn't have us sign anything. The thing was utterly unprofessional. I drove to my bank to cash the check and they had post dated it and the bank wouldn't cash it. I had to call them back and the office manager tried to argue with me about the date. Well, it did not say December 22, it said December 27. When I walked back into the clinic to have the issue fixed, there was a male there and he acted as if I was going to rip them off. That was completely laughable. I do believe that was the other way around. He handed me another check and told me that we were excused from the practice. Well, that's fine. We had absolutely NO intentions of going back to a dental clinic that was so completely unorganized, unprofessional, who used basic bullying tactics and, because we have state insurance, treated us like we were vermin. I'm sorry, we're not a disease, we're low income and still deserve to be treated with basic human dignity...especially my husband, who is a disabled Vietnam veteran. We both received letters in the mail from this clinic today stating that "due to our behavior, we were not welcome back into the clinic for any reason". Well, I know that they should have some type of video/audio monitoring available. I would totally love to see it. I would love to see how they addressed the male (I assume he thought he was of some type of importance) and his completely unprofessional behavior...or should we just forget that and let him treat the patients as he sees fit? The bottom line is that Longview Family Dental is, by far, the worst dental clinic that we've ever gone to. I've never seen such ridiculous, unprofessional behavior. They do not read your medical chart to see what your allergies are, they just act like you are the biggest inconvenience when you tell them that you can't take certain meds because they will, oh...I don't know...KILL YOU...and then proceed to tell you that because of that, they don't want to deal with you. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST DENTIST MY FAMILY HAS EVER BEEN TO !! The low level of caring is astonishing. I had a tooth pulled and it was a butcher job! The "Dentist" ripped and severed my gum and when he stitched it up, left parts not sewed together so it healed split. During the extraction, he kept looking at the assistants and they continued to exchanging nervous stares through out the procedure. I'm not a dentist, but I'm pretty sure he wasn't suppose to be wrenching down so hard that he was trembling from exerting so much force. He also used my GUMS for a pivot point to get leverage and mangled the gum. When we were done he gave me a long explanation of why it was such a tough extraction, which was the only time he spoke to me, He never even asked my name or introduced himself. I am pretty sure that the only reason they are able to keep their business open is because they accept State insurance. If that's the reason you are willing to try them out, know that they make it obvious that they look down on you for having state insurance, as stated in other reviews. If having state insurance is the reason you are going to Longview Family Dental, know that Family Health Center in Longview and Arbor Dental accepts state as well. The staff treats you like a conveyor belt of cattle on their way to the chopping block and piling in as much work as possible into small appointment times. If you want to reschedule or say you need another appointments for the work that needs to be done they are very quick to huff and puff and NOT try to accommodate your needs,fears, or anxieties. I have a strong fear of the dentist, and needles, and asked multiple times for the Doc to tell me before he administered the Novocain shots so I could close my eyes and breath, and every time I asked, he didn't bother to warn me. Clearly, even the smallest request by patients is too much to handle. I thought this was awful beside manner, and rude considering the dentist is seeing people with needle phobias and anxiety and not telling them when the needles going in. The other work I had done was essentially the whole left side of my mouth (fillings) and it hurt for TWO FULL MONTHS. I've never heard of a filling lasting in pain for more than a week. I lost weight because it hurt to eat, so I just didn't. Even trying soft foods, etc, everything hurt and the pain was slow to diminish when it did. It make me question what they did wrong. I know some of the dental assistants didn't know what they were doing for a fact. They're always having to leave the room to ask questions from the Doctor about what they should do multiple times through out appointments. This is absolutely one of the worst experience in my life, not only the worst dental experience. I've never been looked down upon so much in my life, and for something such as my type of insurance. All of the staff are very nice and supportive, except for Dr Rowie. If your looking for a gentle and kind dentist, definately go to someone else. I've never in my life had shots hurt so much. I allmost walked out numb they hurt so bad. He agreed to start by pulling the infected tooth first which was broke off and then we would go from there. He started by pulling the two teeth next to it first so I wouldn't have any teeth on the one side to support my partial. then he pulled the broken off tooth. I know he did it on purpose. When I went back to get the stitches out, which I allmost tried to do myself to avoid going back to him, he yanked them out very fast and brutally. my mouth was bleeding and i was allmost in tears again. If you think your tough and pride yourself in being able to take a lot of pain, by all means go to him, you might end up thinking differently. My 5yr old had a terrible experience with his last dentist. To the point he would hide under the chairs, scream and cry as soon as we pulled into the parking lot. We tried Longview Family Dental, they are one of the few that accept Molina Apple insurance. They took us back, then had me leave the room. I was expecting screaming and crying, or for them to come get me because he was terrified. Then 20 min later they brought me back to the room. My son was smiling, laughing and high fiving the dentist! Even said he loves this dentist! They were able to clean and flouride his teeth too! I can't thank them enough for helping my son get over his fear of the dentist! Just FYI, we do have state insurance, and it didn't seem to make any difference to the staff or the dentist. read more

While reviewing Longview dentist ratings, I was reminded of my bad experience here, in summer of 2015. Went in for their advertised special $69 for exam, cleaning, X-rays. They recommended a whole bunch of work that I was not interested in, and did not get the teeth cleaned. On the estimate for root planing that the dentist thought I should have, they estimated almost full price for my upper two quadrants, even though my total number of upper teeth was less than ONE full quadrant. Generally, they were not very friendly and tried to push a lot of stuff I was not interested in. read more

Viciously PAINFUL ! I'm in my late 50s & have been to many dentists. This office says they are a dentist and denturist. THEY lied. I was in so much pain from the first round of novacane I was shaking uncontrollably and my blood pressure spiked so high I was in the danger zone. The the second round of Novocain was just as bad, by the third round of novocaine I was in so much pain I was ready to pass out. Stitches came out the very day that they put them in. They were supposed to last two weeks. They didn't call in my prescriptions for 7 hours after I was home. I had to have help getting from the pharmacy to my car. And this is the first Dentist that ever did an extraction that didn't call me that night or the next day to see if I'm okay. They didn't listen to me when I asked them do or not do something. If you have ever looked for some good advice this is it; stay as far away from this Dentist as you possibly can & please God never take your children there. read more

With so few offices taking my insurance I was so pleased to find this office for my family. The front staff are so friendly and try to accommodate my work schedule. I haven't had a dentist make me feel so comfortable and important. The hygienist was very gentle and calmed my nerves and the assistant does so great at making sure I understand every step of my procedure. The doctor is so funny and painless! Don't ever go to this place!!! I had to have several teeth pulled (15) in preparation for dentures. The appointment was 7 weeks away so they had plenty of time to prepare. During my appointment, they got half way done - all the bottom teeth - and said they didn't have enough time to finish and that I would have to make another appointment to come back in and have the top teeth done. You would think they would know how much time is needed to do a procedure!! My next appointment wasn't for another month! A month not being able to chew anything! But, at least they scheduled enough time to complete the procedure. And now, I have to wait another month to get my dentures! That's 2 MONTHS not able to chew anything!! I think this treatment is directly related to the fact that I have state insurance, which is so unfair!!! Poor people deserve to be treated with compassion and respect just like people of means!!! read more
