Small restaurant that offers variety of chinese fast food menu. I.e. sweet and sour, tao chicken, congee or dumpling set. They offer catering as the name says. Come and check it out. I am waiting for the dishes to come. But the place seems nice for a small close family gathering. The owner and staff are very friendly and detail oriented. I will be coming back for family meals

Finally, an exceptional Dim Sum place that is in our neck of the woods. It used to be that to get Dim Sum of this caliber we would have to go to Markham or Downtown Toronto. No more. This chef is superb and the owner seems to be very much impressed by him. We are too. Last night just on a whim I picked up a quick order of Shiu Mai and Hargow. This is what I use to compare the caliber of Dim Sum houses. For the last few years and definitely since the pandemic has hit we were used to the stuff produced by T&T. Not any more. The guys are Longevity are our new go to place for Dim Sum and next time I order food, there will be photos.

This place was introduced to me by one of my beloved godmother. This place is really clean and spacious, and the owner is super friendly. Their dim sums are so really amazing since it brings me back to my childhood dim sum flavour before I immigrated to Canada. The lava salt egg steam buns were just dynamite with tender bum exterior and soft, warm and lava like filling. The steamed pickle vegetable pork was so fresh, bouncy and well seasoned I just wanted more. The steam egg with dried scallop was just velvety smooth and with just enough soy sauce. Even the rice was freshly soft, chewy with a slight bite and you could separate individual rice grain. My new favourite to visit if I want some traditional Chinese food.

It's a great idea since this cuts down on a lot of waste with the one time use styrofoam or plastic non-recyclable containers. You can asked to be placed on their email distribution list and they'll send you a list of what dishes they'll be making in certain days. You call ahead to place your order and are given a number. When you get there you tell them your number and provide them with your containers for the food. It seems as though a lot of people leave their containers and bags there and gone back to pick up their food later. There were 2 shelves filled with environmental bags. The food is tasty and not too salty or greasy unlike a lot of other takeout places.

This review is for frozen dim sum only…read more Overall - 4 stars. I had craved dim sum for a while now but had been reluctant to dine out nor bother to drive all the way to get takeout weekly, so I opted to buy a batch of frozen dim sum from this vendor last weekend. I heard of this vendor via referral of a friend. The frozen dim sum I chose were all of the "steam" nature, as I believed they would be easier to prepare. I called the vendor. Jennifer sent a text message with a link to an online form to me, along with pictures of the menu. The actual ordering was straight forward, just selected a picture and the quantity. The total cost was displayed at end of ordering. The prices were inclusive of sales tax, so there was no surprise or mental mathematics required. Jennifer replied by email soon after acknowledging the order and the pickup time. When I arrived at store, I rang a bell and waited at the entrance lobby as part of the Covid 19 protocol. A lady asked for my name and order. Jennifer counted the quantity in person with me to confirm everything ordered was in the bag. Money changed hands and the transaction was completed smoothly and professionally. 5 stars for process. I steamed the dim sum. I estimated that the quality and size were on par with the "flat price" dim sum at restaurants, and definitely better quality than the frozen ones from grocery stores. The Chai Siu Bao and Chiu Chow Dumplings were particularly delicious. The regular Shrimp Dumplings were fresh but small (there is a jumbo size Shrimp Dumpling available for ordering should you desire). The Siu Mai were smaller than expected. 3 stars for food. The pricing of everything I chose was way cheaper than restaurants, so the value was justified. 4 stars for value.

They offer various services and events, and I recalled as well that they also do kids camps. Over the past couple years, my daughter has taken a big interest in cooking. And not just a fleeting interest, but consistently enjoys watching cooking shows and wanting to participate in cooking at home. As we were planning summer camps this year, I thought we should try to finally give her a chance to live her dream a bit and attend a week here. She's gone to a city-run one before. Though she quite enjoyed it, it was fairly simple. At The Chef Upstairs, they are in a full commercial kitchen with gas stoves, deep fryers and a whole bunch of other things you'd expect from a real kitchen. They have a firm belief that kids can learn safely - in fact, the safest thing is to expose them and provide proper technique. And they're not just making things like a deli meat roll up wrap, but full-on multi-course meals (they make breakfast and lunch) and from recipes from all around the world. You should look at the menus they post on their site for the kids camps. It was a bit of a sacrifice for us as we do not live nearby. That said, they have two locations, so a number of people are well-situated if near Vaughan and midtown Toronto. It's also a bit more money than many other kids camps - though its apparent with the food costs and the high staffing ratio that it's still good value. Ultimately, it was well worth it. My daughter loved it and truly lived out a dream and learned a lot. The highlight for her was the week long prep leading up to the Iron Chef-esque competition where they planned their own full menu. I'm thrilled that The Chef Upstairs lived up and even exceeded our already high expectations and truly made a lifetime memory for our daughter.

It's been a tough year for Restaurants out there but imagine if you are a caterer? You don't…read morereally have a storefront to even do take out. All events have been cancelled. Nothing I would wish on any business so how do we help them make it through these unprecedented times? Well, we try their foods and tell the world about them! This is my first caterer/food delivery service review. I thought I could cook my way through all this chaos - but there are only so many meals and variations I can do with meat, kimchi, and lettuce! OMG! I don't remember how many bowls of instant ramen has passed through my well developing spare tire around my gut! I'm taking that Covid-19lbs challenge serious! LOL! I've been asked to try some various foods and endorse them but it's not my thing. Unless I like it, I won't post it or I might POST a real humzinger of a post if I really disliked something. I had some thaw and chaw (usually raw) dinners. -.- I had some heat and eat - yeah... that didn't go right. :( I had some take and make - hmm... this has promise. I like take and make. You still have to prep it. You can get creative with the starch (sorry keto-peeps) and veggies (yes, I said veggies... veggiemaniacs revel in that statement! You might be hard pressed to see it again!) :D Presidential Gourmet makes food prep easy and bang on. Just follow the heating instructions on their label and you can't go wrong. I made their Maple Salmon - 5 mins in boiling water and a perfect medium rare. 7mins will give you medium - whatever you fancy it was a great meal. The Chimichurri Flank Steak was so perfect. Put in the oven or on a BBQ - 12mins later... Ta-da!!! Just check out my plated pics! FYI - I don't have a bbq...so sad. Dang it for living in a condo with a no BBQ on the Balcony rule! BUT...It was perfectly done in a toaster oven! Ye-yah! True Story!!! :) I also had the Shepherds Pie. A little salty for my taste but it is supposed to be had with some plain starch which would balance it. All in all, I'm looking forward to placing an order with them again soon. Talking about ordering, it's not a place that makes a bunch of food and freezes it. That's the beauty of this place. They make it and take it to you - vacuum sealed bags and not frozen! They deliver twice per week. Order by Tues night, get it Friday. Order by Fri night, get it Tuesday. Simple enough. I'm fresh out of Salmon because my kid devoured two steaks in one sitting with all the Paella. The other kid on his visit had the steak. He also took the lasagna and the remaining shepherds pie with him! Bottomless stomachs! I wish I could be like that again - that way my spare tire would like a bicycle tire! LOL! CHEERS!!!!
