We shared an order of plain fry bread and another Navajo taco which is fry bread with some fresh taco-like toppings. The fry bread was interesting! It was lightly sweet, with a crispy exterior but a doughy interior. The taco version came topped with ground beef, whole beans, tomatoes, lettuce, and onions. I appreciated the freshness of the ingredients but it definitely sogged up the fry bread. I much preferred the original. Two dishes held us (4 people) over quite well for the remainder of the afternoon. I'm taking off a star simply because of service - it was kind of weird but we also kind of expected it because of the location? We clearly had 4 people but we only got 1 place setting. We were also told to sit at a table but then had to order at the counter anyways? Oh well. Mexican Water Trading Post is the only thing at this location besides the gas station and the 7-11 like market. Open everyday 8am to 8:30pm.

The Flashback Diner needs some TLC; a good scrub down, quicker service, friendlier, more attentive personnel. The best part of the meal was definitely the turtle sundae, which was worth every penny:) the ice cream prices are very reasonable, so it'd be a fun place to drop in for a shake or dipped ice cream cone!

Not so good, fairly disappointing…read more Applebee's can be hit and miss, but this location really seems to strike out. Although my last experience here wasn't completely horrible, it was well below expectation. Service was attentive, but the server seemed rushed and annoyed most of the time. My friend didn't get a straw and our server was frustrated at her request for one. She was told to look in her silverware bundle, but guess what, there was NO straw in there! It wasn't particularly busy either, so that attitude didn't make a lot of sense. After we turned down extra drinks for a second time, our waitress seemed even more frustrated and was ready for us to leave. Speaking of drinks, the patron margarita is lacking here, so I opted to try a "mucho size" summer squeeze this time. The drink was refreshing, but way too watered down. Half of the glass was ice too, so it ended up working like an average sized drink at best. No wonder why I didn't order a second one, I wasn't going to waste the money. The food was okay, but options were limited. They didn't even have guacamole, which seemed ridiculous. There may not be many places to eat at in Liberal, but I don't think this Applebee's is worth it.

Variety/process similar to a Five Guys in you have your basic burger and a bunch of toppings. I gave a single burger a try with cheese, fried onions, pickles, and ketchup, plus a chili cheese dog and some cheese curds. Burger was good. A smashed version with a nice crust. Hotdog was delicious, maybe a bit more bun than needed though. Neat with the split top that's buttered and griddled though. Cheese curds were really tasty; squeaky and crisp with the batter. I think if it was closer I'd make it a more reliable choice for a quick bite.

In general I think Freddy's is fine - maybe a hair better than McDonalds if you're out and about…read morelooking for a fast food burger joint, and this location lives up to my expectations. I typically end up at a Freddy's on average once per year and this year I had chicken tenders and onion rings, which gave me ample excuse to try their fry sauces. All in all the food was mid and the sauce wasn't as good as I remembered. The real reason I'm giving them 3/5 is because the price point I found to be pretty high for fast food. Maybe I just don't typically order fast food for the whole family (which is true), but I was shocked that for all four of us to eat at Freddy's it came out to over $40 and we didn't even order any extras. I know, that is still around $10 per person, but I don't know, I feel like I can eat at some nicer fast casual spots for that same price point and feel better later in the day. Overall, not a bad stop and I'd consider it again if in the area on a road trip.
