I have competed in the Arapahoe Invitational tournament back to back years and while this year did not hold their tournament, looking to play in 2021. For those who don't know what Platform Tennis is: Platform Tennis is an outdoor racquet sport generally played in cool or cold weather, although it has become a year-round sport in some regions. Courts are generally on a raised platform, allowing heaters under the deck to keep the playing surface playable no matter what Mother Nature throws at you. The top 5 popular cities for Platform Tennis are Boston, Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City, and Denver. If you get the chance to play platform tennis, I highly recommend it!

This place offers tennis lessons for your kiddos and is in a great location in the Vistas. You can…read morego in for a free 1 hour lesson to see if the kids like it, and you can stay, or leave while they are in the lesson. We did the one hour lesson and the kids loved it and begged me to sign them up for regular lessons. We did sign up for regular lessons, but instead are trying their summer camp for kids. You can do mornings, afternoons, or both and have them pack a lunch. It's run by what seems like kids in their late twenties who are more than up for handling even strong willed kids. I watched them steer kids back into what they were doing, and keep them involved. My kids did nothing but rave about it. I personally would suggest with running a place for kids, having more of a waiting area, and having more than just one unisex bathroom for the whole place. We had a 20 minute wait at the beginning of camp because every single kid had to use it before camp started. Otherwise no complaints. And GREAT location.

The facility is strict about enforcing mask-wearing and hand sanitizing which is comforting throughout these uncertain times. COVID-aside, I've had a great experience with the entire staff and the quality of the courts etc. are top notch. I've only taken classes with one instructor, Cannon and he is AMAZING. I'm just getting back into tennis after a ~15 year break from when I played in High School and I've had major issues with my backhand, it was completely broken. After a few private lessons and group drills with Cannon, I'm really starting to make progress. All of the other players I've met at DTP are wonderful as well. I went to watch a senior softball game, so some people had difficulty getting from the lot on University down to the ball field. Another issue that surprised me was that the ball field was not very well kept. Although chalk outlines were new, the bases were not securely affixed to the ground, and there were uneven areas, including some holes. This caused some players to fall.

Pedestrians and Bicycles can use the popular Highland Canal Trail that intersects and traverses several sections of the park. I really enjoy every time I come here and intend to come here much more.
