have been a patient at Lone Star Neurology in Mansfield for several years and have always received truly exceptional care from Dr. Abdul Mohammed. He is personable, knowledgeable, and has consistently provided excellent treatment. I have nothing but respect for him as a physician.
That's what makes my recent experience with the office so frustrating and disappointing.
I went in to simply get a single-page DOT form signed. Before coming in, I called the office and was told I could email the paperwork, have it processed, and pick it up. Based on that, I expected a quick and simple visit. Instead, when I arrived in person, I was told I needed to schedule an appointment--and pay $200--just to have one document signed.
Honestly, I thought it was a misunderstanding or maybe even a joke at first. But after the staff went to confirm, I was told again that this was "company policy." No flexibility, no explanation that made sense for something so minor.
I left feeling frustrated and honestly blindsided. A $200 charge just to sign a single sheet of paper feels excessive and completely out of step with what patients normally expect, especially when my regular copay is only $35. It raises serious concerns about how routine requests are handled and whether cost is being prioritized over patient convenience.
I genuinely respect Dr. Mohammed and the care he provides, but experiences like this with the office make it difficult to feel comfortable continuing care there. It's hard not to question what would happen if I needed something more important than a simple form completed, yet still administrative in nature.
I hope the practice takes a closer look at how these situations are handled, because right now it leaves patients feeling frustrated, dismissed, and like everything comes down to a price tag. read more
