I really hate to leave a neg review (anywhere really) but esp for a practice that clearly other people seem to like. Today I received a random email stating I owe money, no invoice or indication for what it's for. My child hasn't even been seen for several months (May, it's now September)? So, I called. It's always a call center in the Philippines which is always challenging to deal with since they're not actually in the office and therefore not familiar with the practice, policies, staff and dentists. And their Automated texting system is likely managed by a remote third party too since they'll text their generic " please arrive early" or reminder texts when you're already there in the waiting room like...huh? Anyways, I was placed on hold for over 17min today then told that the insurance back in Aug didn't cover everything and so we owe money? So bizarre. Other than this, I unfortunately have other grievances. 1. there is always such a long wait which is difficult with little kids. 2 appts ago we waited 45 min (even tho we were the ONLY patient there?) to "get authorization"... like, don't yall do that before we come in for our appt scheduled six mo in advance? It was..odd. We were also the last appt of the day I think 5pm so it was just very strange no one was eager to get the appointment going so they could close. 2. At our last appt, the hygienist we had was... not warm or seemingly child friendly? If it were for me I wouldn't care one bit but like, this is exclusively a pediatric clinic? Maybe the staff should at least kinda like kids or at the least not seem irritated by their presence? She explained nothing (so I started explaining in a developmentally appropriate way what she was doing during the cleaning to put my child at ease). My 3 y/o had never had X-rays until this most recent visit. He was clearly nervous and she kept making him gag on the X-ray inserts and again wasn't explaining anything (like: "now I'm going to put this heavy bib on you, place this in your mouth and take a quick picture" or whatever. She just kept saying "look up", "look down", "stop moving" in a really irritated, flat tone). My kid almost started crying it was honestly just sad. Every time we leave here I go, I realllyyyyy need to find a new dentist for my kid but just haven't yet. Yah, I need to do that. That said the doctor is nice enough and seems knowledgeable. The reviews seem great here so maybe we just always have a lackluster experience for some odd reason, or, maybe this is standard peds dentistry nowadays idk but I'm over it here. read more

This review is strictly based on the entire practice's not specifically the Long Beach office's customer service. Their service is broadly mixed but mostly kind of poor. There have been times I've been told I'd get a call back in.a question but that never happened. The same happened with an email response. Other times where I ask about or try to get help with an issue involving third party providers they work with, they practically put their hands up in the air and shift the responsibility back on to me or provide little info or help for me to get the information or accomplish what I need to get done. A prime example, was when I was trying to get help in determining whether a third party provider they work with would be able to get a preauthorization through my insurance. It finally resolved in me obtaining a phone number but even after calling that third party I got no call back. Customer service needs work. Maybe professional training on what that entails. read more

Took my 18 month old for her first dental appointment and was able to be seen on time and with warm smiles from the staff. The office was clean, brightly lit, and colorful interior which felt very oriented to small children. I was able to get education about proper brushing techniques and dentist was warm in addressing my concerns. The appointment ended with my child getting an award and some free toothbrushes for our family. Would highly recommend and return again. read more

I always enjoy coming to Lollipop dental Long Beach. It's convenient, fast and very friendly service. I originally would travel all the way to Yorba Linda because the service was so good. I was overjoyed when they opened a lollipop dental in my neighborhood. They always make my kiddos feel at ease and very fun experience for them. The staff is always sweet especially Christina, Kat and Zoraida that made sure we were well taken care of and went above and beyond and showed my son the fun in flossing. He loved his Pokémon toothbrush especially since that is his favorite right now; was excited to try it once he got home. The doctor's office is very decorated very neat. It's very nice but the one thing I DO NOT like about this doctors appointment is that they have bays; meaning everybody is next to each other. HIPAA is out the window when it comes to this facility. OK everybody is directly next to each other. Immediately was greeted by the receptionist and checked in right away. We waited in a clean and comfortable seating area. We then were called for X Rays and then went to sit at a chair our dental assistant Kat was so friendly and gentle with my little ones, she treated my girls with such kindness and compassion. We have twin 19 month old girls who use the pacifier. Getting them seen by a dentist was important to know their teeth are growing in ok. Getting set up was easy online. I was anxious for them to have their first dental appointment but they did great with the help of the staff. Celine was very gentle and friendly with their first cleaning. The only thing that makes sense with this location is the fact that is a franchise but other than that I'm not sure how this place is still standing. My oldest daughter had an Ortho consult in March checked in, paid the deposit made the follow up appointment for the removal of old hardware that was a problem because they wanted me me to make 2 separate appointments for 1 for the removal and 1 for the placement of new hardware did not make any sense let's get it all done in one stop!! After a little pushback we made the appointment for April for the removal of old hardware and placement of new hardware. We get to the appointment and now they can't verify insurance also my child needs and generalist to examine before coming in. But this after the deposit has been paid and my child has been without her old hardware now for 3weeks. So now we're at a crossroads why wasn't this explained during the consult let me add I did all the ground work for verifying insurance with no follow up from Lollipop dental - Long Beach. before rescheduling for 2nd time I spoke with reception and requested a stop payment or a hold on all payments until services begin because it seems like we won't receive treatment until who knows when. I was assured that the hold on all payments was issued nothing has been sent in writing AT ALL!! I got a call another month later from a call center lollipop agent asking if I can pay for the hardware my daughter received only problem is the only thing that was done was the removal of her old hardware!!! In outrage I was over it you're asking for more money when not even the bare minimum was done It has now been 2 1/2 months with not 1 positive moment but I am out of my deposit money and they did not follow through with the stop payment I was the monthly cost 06/01/2025 around 6am so not only was I robbed but I was lied to MULTIPLE TIMES. So please when you see this place always have a full tank of gas and just KEEP GOING P.S Lollipop dental - Long Beach funny thing I wouldn't have gotten a call back if I did not go to up to Lollipop dental - Cerritos ( Long Beach is not open on Monday's no matter what their website says) again for the most part I feel threatened and harassed this is beyond unacceptable. read more
