A top quality deli at the westernmost point of the British isles. Manned (womanned?) by a dedicated group at the back of the shop who will knock you up a sandwich to go in minutes. Great local cheese counter. Lots of tasty pies, pasties, sausage rolls and scotch eggs. A couple of shelves of excellent white and red wines. And lots and lots of great quality bits and bobs from chocolates to pasta to dairy products. It's really well curated and the sort of place you'd expect to cost the earth. But it really doesn't. Very fair prices. A large baguette packed full of whatever you want will cost less than a fiver. We go there every day when we're on holiday and take our booty down to Whitesands for a delicious packed lunch. And when we're cooking, it's a great place to buy posh produce and a bottle of Pouilly Fume to go with the lobster or crab from down the road in Solva. Insider tip. Go early. Lunchtime gets crowded and although they work quickly it will be a bit of a wait if you're getting a packed lunch. This place is an absolute godsend if you like your food and wine. A real treat you can award yourself every day. Well, you are on holiday. For more St David's reviews please read my write ups on... The Farmer's arms. The Bishops. Gianni's ice cream. Saffron. The lunch and evening menus have a good selection of food and i have never had a a dish i wouldn't recommend. The wine and sherry selection is outstanding. The deli means you can take many Spanish dishes home with you. I would also like to mention the lunchtime takeaway of panini and paella which are very good. It is a food and wine lovers place to go.

The service was personable and they were quick to bring drinks and dishes out. The food was top notch! My favorites were the basic salad, the olives, the patatas bravas, the salt cod (was amazing), and a few others that are now escaping my memory (I'm thinking we had a rabbit and a lamb and a bean dish... and a cheese/meat plate, and another salad) They will bring endless plates of excellent bread (and there is olive oil on the table). Basically, you can't go wrong here! We also got the house wine; a light and delicious Spanish wine, and very affordable. The only dish that I specifically remember our small group being lukewarm on was the octopus (was served chilled and was ok, but not amazing). After you eat (in the back), you can stop in the front of the store to buy more amazing meats, cheeses, olives, and wine to take with you! You may have a wait at times, as seating is fairly limited (we were there mid-afternoon on a Saturday in October, and had to wait only about 10 minutes to be seated). Also... I thought the price here was excellent for the quality and quantity of food. A real gem and must-do if you come through Aberystwyth!

We had some amazing food in the café and then purchased some lovely wine and cheese and beautiful homemade apricot chutney on the way out. The couple that own the business are the friendliest and kindest people and had a wonderful scene of humor and we chatted for ages I left feeling like I have known them forever. If you are visiting you must go and if you are a local then you are very lucky to have this amazing shop on your doorstop!

She could only sit in the dog friendly area that only had bar stools. We quickly explained that it is unlawful under Equality legislation to treat someone with disabilities less favourably because of their disability, or because they have a Guide or assistance Dog with them. But sadly, it quickly became obvious that my wife was not going to be treated with the respect and dignity she deserves, and the atmosphere was no longer conducive to enjoying a meal, so we left. He has since spoken with the Guide Dogs for the Blind Engagement Officer, and been informed of what he should have done, but no apology to my wife was ever forthcoming, which would have cost him nothing! I just want my wife to be treated like a human being! Each (illegal) "you can't sit here, sit over there" is a crushing, confidence shattering rejection.
