Who knew when we first bought a Welsh dresser base from JTA that we would collect and eventually find pieces for our entire home! We have always loved early English oak, and have learned so much about the proper patina. JTA has wonderful pieces and we have benefited from their curatorial eye. We needed a large dining table for our big family. They brought three tables to our home and when they were all too small, they encouraged us to wait for them to find the right one for us. And that they did! They found us a fabulous Irish wake table. We have spent so many family holidays sitting around this wonderful treasure! When we bought our home in Florida, Lori also helped decorate the house in addition to supplying us with period furniture. We love the hunt, finding treasures that reflect our life. And they are genuinely nice people!

Oops I did it again!…read more I love antique clocks (and antique/ vintage items in general) even though I dont have anywhere to put them all out in my house, but yesterday, I picked up this beautiful antique mahogany clock. I believe that it may be a Junghans German shelf clock. (Possibly a "Biedermeier style"?) clock with a dark reddish mahogany case and a beveled glass door. It has a wonderful deep toned strike on the hour and half hour. I found this gem at Second & Main and it's sister store Apparitions Vintage Village which is owned by an old high school friend Robin Sowers. This store has a little bit of everything from classis records, vintage items, and locally crafted items as well! Be sure and check them out!

A.J. was my sales person and was very knowledgeable about ALL of the merchandise in his store. He asked how I slept (back, side, stomach) and pointed out the mattresses that were best for that sleep position. He watched as I laid on my side and told me which ones offered me the best support. He did not steer me toward more expensive brands. In fact, several he showed me were considerably cheaper than the one I was considering. A.J. was very nice and not one bit pushy. He spent a lot of time helping me. Beds are hard to shop for so I would highly recommend A.J. and Wildcat Mattress.

This is a small store filled with wood turned items and small brooms. The owner, Tim Wade, hand…read moremakes all the wood products while somebody else does the brooms. Tim walked me through his store and showed me everything he offered. Even going through each item to tell me what the initial use was and other uses that customers have come up for them. You can see how much he loves what he does and the passion he shows for why he does it. I ended up buying a small glass canning jar with a wooden lid that he made. It elevates a simple thing into something quite impressive. His wares are also sold in a couple of other stores in the area. Very personable and professional.
