It was a bio-hazard which put my then 4 months daughters life in danger. Instead of helping us, they bullied us, saying there is no problem with their work because they are the best in the industry, therefore they can't make mistakes, therefore the problem is with my house. Because of this very flawed logic, they proposed sending in a roofer to add more vents, as a good will gesture. Not only it's stupid, it's also cunning, as the problem was the insulating foil and the fact that they blocked the air intake into the loft so there was no airflow to carry the heat coming from the house out. All they needed to do was to take the foil down but it took 6 weeks of waiting for them to do it, only to do it myself in the end. 6 weeks of agony, emails, phone calls, back and forths. It is my opinion that they did not take enough care designing the solution for our house as per Consumers Rights Act 2015. They just slapped a generic solution made of floor boarding and insulating foil under the rafters, solution they say the slap on every house. The insulating foil is non-breathable and they covered all the air intake locations into the loft with it, so there was no airflow going through the loft. The main issue is that the house has more insulation at ceiling level than at rafter level and because the foil acts as a vapour barrier, it is not letting any moisture escape. The insulation at ceiling level means that the loft space will sit at a much lower temperature than the rest of the house, making the internal face of the foil cold, in turn leading to interstitial condensation. Which condensation cannot escape because the foil is non-breathable and the loft is completely sealed with no airflow going through because they blocked the air intakes with the foil. There was water dripping from the foil onto the floor boards and puddles were forming. That's what led to mould. They also used two different types of foil, one with 9 layers, the other 11, thus making the loft sweat much more on one side than the other.Myself and my breastfeeding partner had to take out of the loft all the belongings in the middle of winter at -4 degC. It wasn't the fact that they made a technical mistake that bothered me, it was the bullying when we needed support, the intimidation, the ghosting, the threats they made, the fact that they sat on their hands for 6 weeks whilst we were dealing with a bio-hazard above our heads. That's what hurt the most. We were treated in the most inhumane way possible by them, especially by Nick Hills who acts as a complaint handler/business manager/ customer care representative. When I invoked the no quibble guarantee they show off with, he laughed on the phone and said I can't do that because they did nothing wrong. His logic is so flawed, sometimes I had the feeling I was talking to a primate. But a very cunning primate though. We ended up in court as there was no way we could deal with them. We feel robbed from our money, our then 4 months daughter life was put in danger by the mould caused by the foil they installed, we had lost many of our belongings (worth about £1000) we've been threatened by them with the court if we leave an online review, violating the Human Rights Act 10, freedom of expression. Nick Hills continued the bullying in court, coming into my personal space during the negotiations, raising his voice at me, being angry at me. They have no T&Cs, no ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) scheme, no ombudsman. There is no-thing and no-one that can hold them accountable for their actions. They have no process for complaints, they don't record calls. I mostly dealt with Nick Hills and Alex Sunderland, a pair with a history of bad installations with other companies that they bankrupted leaving a debt of about £300,000 in todays money to HMRC and other Creditors.
