Not always open on bank or school holidays. The cafe has very low staff turnover, so I really look forward to seeing a few familiar faces and chit-chatting early mornings when I usually turn up. Cappuccino is my drink of choice here, add a smoothie and baguette for quick and pretty healthy road breakfast. And you can't beat the price. Grab a paper and pocket some fresh fruit and you're ready to embark on your trip.

Though it doesn't exactly fit the typical "dive" bar stereotype because it is right in the heart of the Gaertnerplatz area (thus making it insanely crowded on a Saturday night), if you come here on a Sunday you will get the same hole-in-the-wall rockbar atmosphere, but slightly less loud. You also won't find yourself sitting alone at the bar either....I think about 15 others were there. Not bad for Sunday at 10pm :D If a cocktail is what you're looking for, I'm sure the bartenders can make it for you, but you might fare better at one of the cocktail places down the road. However, if it's beer, shots, or straight liquor you want then Holy Home is the place for you. Just don't drink too much or you might find yourself staring at the wall of knick knacks behind the bar hahah I'm going again Thursday this week, so it'll be interesting to see how a weekday evening compares to the weekends! They have a happy hour till about 8pm most evenings and a huge cocktail list but most of what we tried was fairly ordinary. I had an Old Fashioned and a Caipirinha and both tasted a bit odd and served in glasses I would not expect for either of them. Service is ok and people do reserve for late evening drinks so expect that after 8pm you will probably need a reservation over the weekend. I wouldn't rush back here but due to the shortage of late night bars in Munich I will probably end up here again ;-)

One thing to note, do eat elsewhere because there is no food available. I had eaten before getting there, but other people in our group were surprised about the lack of food.
