last week they had an autumnal gnome band and face painting, I hope they do that stuff again…read morebecause wow did that make my day and my Instagram story 10x better, goated IGA. But 4stars cuz the bagging Guy at the checkout wouldn't make eye contact with me or help me and was deep in a french convo with my cashier and I didn't wanna be rude and brother was like 17 yapping

However I did complain to the owner of the store and will not be returning. A poor girls dog broke off his leash and ran into the store looking for her, she was waiting in line and was so confused as to what happened. (I understand dogs "shouldn't" be in grocery stores but this is an exception in my book) Lucky for her, her dog ran into the store to locate her and not onto the busy street of noter dame. my Cashier, thought this unacceptable and started to yell at her colleagues to get the dog out.. I calmly told her. " you can see his leash just broke she's about to pay and leave.. it's not a big deal' in which she replied 'It's a huge deal, pitbulls are vicious and gross and his hair is going to be everywhere. it's disgusting!" long story short when i told her pitbulls aren't all vicious (I've yet to meet one that is and I have two dogs and frequent everywhere and anywhere you can meet dogs...) She lost it, telling me she has one and it's vicious and that dogs are disgusting..she continued to rant.. I finally told her I didn't want to listen to her ignorance and would just like to pay and leave.. to my surprise SHE HAD MORE attitude to give me. I dont normally complain to management, but that was just ridiculous. When i complained to the "big" owner of the store, he took what I had to say but didn't say much more than ok, ok ok. wether it's because he didn't care or didn't understand my english.. who knows. **I cut the story down rather short, because she was exceptionally rude and had some fine choice in vulgarity to use. I also didn't find it necessary to describe her.

The location took a bit of getting used to since it's in more of a residential neighborhood and I'm staying in the city center, but it got easier to find after the first visit. Accessibility was a little tricky at first, the fully accessible entrance with automatic doors closes about two hours earlier than the rest of the store. When I arrived the first time, the staff were incredibly kind and helped lift me and my wheelchair over the small step at the front, which I really appreciated. Once inside, the aisles are spacious, well-marked, and easy to navigate with a wheelchair. Anything that was out of reach wasn't an issue at all because the staff were very friendly and happy to help. We made it work with their English and my French, which made the experience more enjoyable. My return visit the next morning was much smoother since it was daylight and I already had a sense of layout. The staff were even friendlier the second time around. The hot food was really good--maybe not as much variety as I'm used to, but still very satisfying. The chicken wings were fresh, hot and well prepared, the potato wedges were well seasoned, large and hot! Checkout was quick and easy, with registers at both the front and back of the store. They also accept all forms of payment, which made things convenient. Overall, a really positive experience, especially because of how helpful and welcoming the staff were.

When I used to attend college, this grocery store was my go-to in grabbing delicious and big…read moreportion meals in a hurry. Let's fast forward over a decade and I still go there. This IGA is packed no matter what time of day it is. Although there's always many people, the store itself is always clean and stocked. The lady before me complained she did not have enough fries in her box. Despite that, the young woman was smiling when t was my turn. I went right after the lunch rush. Upon waiting the line up was not long and there was a lot to choose from. My regular is the chicken thigh with fries, salad and gravy. I have no clue how these stores make rotisserie chicken but it is always so moist. The gravy was hot, and the macaroni salad was not drenched in mayonnaise. I am taking away one star because the wedges were a bit dry. There is a sitting area for people who have bought food which is awesome. Remember to keep your receipt since security will ask. There is a sink and a microwave.

It's quite an amazing setup and larger than most with a long L-shaped counter area for bottles, plus two aluminum and plastic recycling machines to one side. They also sell lottery products. It tends to be quite a busy and hectic area, and I can imagine is not the easiest section to manage and especially to keep clean. So now for those shoutouts. Firstly, Karele who stood out with a nice smile, was quite friendly and welcoming, also Enkera who even though on break, helped out and Maryemma (spelling?) who was not there at the time, but I have seen working quite hard on several occasions. Job well done, keep it up!
