Michiana Key & Lock is exactly the kind of local business I appreciate: knowledgeable,…read moreprofessional, reasonably priced, and genuinely focused on helping customers rather than just making a quick sale. I stopped in needing a couple of keys duplicated and some advice about a lock that had been giving me trouble. From the moment I walked in, the experience was excellent. The employee was friendly, listened carefully to what I needed, and clearly knew what he was talking about. What impressed me most was the level of expertise. Rather than immediately suggesting that I replace the entire lock, he explained a couple of possible causes for the problem and suggested a much simpler solution. It's refreshing to deal with someone who actually understands the products they're working with and isn't trying to sell you something you don't need. The keys were cut quickly, and every one worked perfectly the first time. That might sound like a small thing, but I've had keys duplicated at big-box stores that needed to be recut or didn't work at all. There's a real difference between having a key made by someone who specializes in locks and using one of those automated machines. The pricing was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of service and the time spent answering my questions. I also appreciated that the whole interaction felt relaxed and personal rather than rushed. Another advantage of a business like Michiana Key & Lock is having access to people who can help with more than just basic key duplication. Whether you're dealing with locks, replacement keys, or security hardware, it's reassuring to know there's a local specialist who understands the work. Overall, an outstanding experience. Friendly service, genuine expertise, fair pricing, and keys that actually work. I'd much rather support a knowledgeable local locksmith than take my chances with a big-box store. Five stars, and definitely a business I'd recommend!

I called Overhead Door Company of South Bend-Mishawaka, and their response was unbelievable. They had someone at my house literally within about five minutes. Our technician, David, was great to work with. He was professional, helpful, and took care of the problem. From a service and responsiveness standpoint, I honestly couldn't have asked for anything better. My only issue, and it is a significant one, was the price. The final bill was $1,797. Afterward, I contacted Hostetler Door and specifically asked them to quote the same scope of work that had been performed. Their quote was $445 with a two-day lead time. That is a very substantial difference. So I have mixed feelings. The service, response time, and technician were exemplary and deserve five stars. The pricing, however, was far higher than I expected and is something I think customers should be aware of. The next time I have a garage door issue, I'll call Hostetler Door.
