I was told they accepted my Insurance but upon checkout they said my bill was $80, I asked why and they said they do not take my Insurance, After discussion I had to pay with a credit card after payment they said they would take the insurance but I can use the $80 toward my co-pays in subsequent visits and at $5 a visit they were guarantying more visits. injured myself quite badly the first week of January 2024, unable to get into my primary til the end of the month I contacted Lockport Chiropractic. The staff were able to get me in as a new patient the next day. Dr. Mark Van Volkenburg was the physician I met with. He has been great throughout this journey of trying to fix this injury, advocating for the necessary imaging needed to assess the problem with my primary. Once I was finally able to get the MRI at the end of February he read the MRI and contacted me by phone prior to my next appointment to explain the degree of the herniation and what I should expect once I contacted the Neurosurgeon. He has consistently been reassuring, going above and beyond even asking about how Im coping mentally and emotionally as Ive been taken out of work and not allowed to work out til 8 weeks post op. The appointments never feel rushed, all of my concerns and questions are always thoroughly answered. The medical assistants are kind and funny and scheduling my weekly appointments is done with ease. I cannot say enough good things about this practice or Dr. Van Volkenburg. I have been a patient at Lockport Chiropractic for many years and have recommended this business to several people who also became patients. I have seen Drs Domenico and Lewis. I have been seen for back pain and migraines. Lockport Chiropractic has been open throughout the pandemic so their patients haven't had to be in pain waiting for a future appointment. In December, I had level 10 back pain with nerve pain down my leg. I saw both Domenico and Lewis. They sent me for an MRI, I saw a specialist and had surgery within weeks. Dr Domenico was there for me and helped me all the way through. He treated me as though I was family. I was in so much pain and he really cared and did everything he could to help me get better! I truly don't know how I would have gotten through this without him. If he hadn't recommended the surgeon he did, I probably wouldn't have had such a successful surgery. I started having chiropractic adjustments with Dr. Van Volkenburg about 6 weeks ago and it has changed my life. For years I have suffered from Cervical Dystonia causing constant and debilitating pain through my Cervical Spine, numbness from right side of my face down my right arm and through my fingertips. Along with this I have a complete reversal of the curvature of the cervical spine. I have been receiving treatment to help mitigate some of the symptoms through various injections, which helped, but still left me in a lot of pain. I had resigned myself to the idea that at 33 years old I would live out the rest of my life in constant debilitating pain. Then I started go to see Dr. Van Volkenburg. After the first visit I had regained normal feeling in the majority of my right arm and face. By the end of the third visit all sensation was back in my face, arm, and hand, as well as my cervical spine having a feeling of release. I can now move my head with ease from side to side, up and down, and most importantly, my pain is GONE; this is something I thought impossible! I have only been seen by Dr. Lewis who is always great!! The office is clean and the waiting room does not allow cell phone conversations while waiting (nice touch). THE WAIT TIME IS THE REAL ISSUE HERE. When I first started coming it was a 15-20 min wait which is ok in my book. For my last visit I am writing this review and have been waiting for 1 hour and 15 minutes!!! Very disappointing to say the least and I hope this doesn't become the norm. I have been a patient of Dr. Lewis since their office was in the Bewley Building. I have only had one rather lengthy wait time, at which I had to cancel my appointment due to another appointment that was scheduled for 1/2 an hour after my chiropractic one that I could not miss. Other than that, the staff is always courteous and helpful when I ask questions, the office is clean and I really like the fact that no cell phone conversations are allowed. Would I recommend Lockport Chiropractic, especially Dr. Lewis to friends that need chiropractic treatment? You bet, and I always do. Oh, and those water pillows that they sell work wonders.
