After we paid them half to get started as agreed, things went downhill. They didn't show up as scheduled and over the last TWELVE WEEKS Mike Shannon has assured us that he was coming out/sending two crews/sending three crews/be there rain or shine/be there first thing in the morning, etc. You name it, he said it and then never did it. Some of the excuses: flat tires on the trailer, broken tire at Home Depot on the trailer, stuck in Tennessee, can't get to the bank, and of course NO calls NO shows. We've given him every opportunity to make good on our contract, going out of our way to contact him, follow up with him, notify our neighbors to plan accordingly for our fence removal, etc. We've been polite, we've compromised, we've followed up, we've waited, we've allowed them on our property unannounced at 9 pm on Friday, April 1, and at dusk Saturday, April 10. Who comes to do fence work at night? Now, he's offered to return our money. Have we seen him? NO! He said he would return our money on Monday, May 2, 2022. Hasn't shown up, yet. Instead, he's offered more excuses and claims he's really going to return our money because he's "not that guy". TWELVE WEEKS, partially missing fence that they removed April 10, and down $5500. Mike Shannon, YOU ARE "THAT GUY". --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *UPDATE Mike returned $1,000 to us on June 2, 2022, vowing to take out a business loan so that he could pay back our remaining $4,500 from February 2022. It's been over NINE WEEKS since that payment. If this was truly an instance of scheduling more work than he could handle, as he claims, he would've already returned our money. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *STILL WAITING Despite Mike continuing to say that he will return our remaining $4,500, here we are, A YEAR LATER, and he still has not kept his word.

He did not use any cement in the post holes and did a terrible job securing the fence boards. He said in his contract that he would use screws but he did not. He barely used any nails. Too much hassle trying to get him to repair so I will fix it myself. Save yourself the time and money and DO NOT use this guy to do your fence. Trust me it is not worth it.

We have boards that were installed without enough nails, and some boards are already falling off. Several posts were not cut properly, leaving rails that do not sit flush. The gate has a significant gap and does not properly lock, defeating one of the basic purposes of having a fenced property. The lack of attention to detail continued throughout the project. Nails were left scattered around our property, creating a safety concern for our dogs, people, and equipment. We were also surprised when the crew arrived without the equipment necessary to move the large quantity of fence boards around our property. They asked to use our personal tractor and used it throughout the week they were here. Without the use of our tractor, it is difficult to understand how they planned to complete the job. The staining was equally disappointing. They underestimated how much stain would be required for the fence and watered down the stain in an attempt to stretch what they had. It still wasn't enough to properly complete the job. We were left with areas that are inadequately stained, an uneven appearance, and visible water marks. For approximately $32,000, we should not have boards falling off, missing nails, poorly cut posts, rails that aren't flush, a gate that is gapped and doesn't lock, nails left throughout the property, and an incomplete, uneven stain job. This wasn't an inexpensive fence where minor imperfections might be understandable. This was a major investment, and we expected professional workmanship, proper equipment, quality control, and a finished product that was actually complete and functional. Unfortunately, that is not what we received. Based on the quality of the work and our experience with this project, we cannot recommend this company. Owner said he would make it right but keeps saying he's working on larger jobs. It's a shame he took advantage of a combat wounded veteran after convincing us how important it is to complete this job professionally.

We just had a brand new fence put in by Redstone Fencing that cost over $7,000. Several of the posts have major cracks in them and at least 30 of the pickets are split right where they were attached. This is not our first fence, we understand some splitting is normal, but this beyond that. We emailed pictures of the issues to them with only a basic response of we'll give you some pickets. They denied any responsibility and never even came back to look at the posts. They were polite, just not at all helpful. If you're making this type of an investment in a relatively small fence, I would definitely look for a more experienced company. Redstone puts all the right sayings on their web page about building relationships, being pros, etc.... It's just not true. There are several other fence company choices, choose one of them.

So, this is a family owned business--mom and dad do the books; the son does repairs (with help). Mom answers the office line and is super cheerful, dad is hilarious and really kind. Chance, the son, knows his stuff when it comes to gates. We knew that our gate--which was installed by previous homeowners--wasn't great, but Chance gave us details on how to "reboot" it on our own, along with helpful tips to extend the life of the setup. I found their prices more than reasonable for a service call, as well. Again, small business, so your mileage may vary if you need something major done. However, they are more than competent and kind.

What a bad experience that I have to see every single day. Ruco was not the cheapest quote I had…read morereceived to fence my property. The old fence was removed and replaced in a single day, which was worrying. Within days the fence pickets were warping. One of the owners of Ruco came out and took photos, sent them to the lead installer. Comments were made about how these materials didn't seem to compare to what they normally see. Ruco scheduled his team to come repair. The attitude of the lead installer was poor, defensive. After picking out many boards that needed to be replaced, they ran out of nails. I supplied their team with coils of nails for their nail guns so they could attempt to finish the work, they ran out of pickets. After leaving I called Ruco back, asking for further action. When the owner came out we looked at the fence again, pointing out a few different things such as an entire panel that was bowed "what do you want me to do, replace the entire section?" I shouldn't have to ask, you should install a quality product. We scheduled another service, the owner came out instead of his team with a stack of boards and a hammer fit for a grade schooler. I set up my own chop saw and cut boards for him, sad. There is more sadness to the story, that I don't have the urge to keep this going.
