One person in my party ran the marathon, and needless to say, they were very hungry. Between us, we had ordered the pig knuckles (it was huge - about the size of someone's head), schnitzel, and a meatball dish. All the dishes we had were very reasonably priced for the amount of food it was. We all enjoyed our food, and it seemed like it was a great taste into German food (can't be sure it is authentic since I'm not German myself, but judging by how everyone else in the restaurant was speaking German, I think it wasn't a tourist trap). The ambience of the restaurant was stellar. It was located on a quiet side street near a park, and a bit hard to find since it was off the main roads and was raining the night we went there. The walls of the restaurant were adorned with many old pictures and posters dating back to the 1930s or so. The restaurant had a front room, and also a fairly large back room that isn't immediately obvious when you enter. The whole feeling of the place was one of a historic, quaint old German pub. The feeling was magnified by the fact that the waitress did not speak any English, so you can tell that not many groups of entirely foreigners wandered their way over to here (luckily one member of my party spoke enough German for us to get by). There were quite a few people in, all having a good time, but we had no problem finding a table beside the bar. The bartender was fantastic, friendly, open for conversation, and he made some great drinks. The cocktail menu is extensive, and very good value. I also enjoyed the beer called Fucking Hell, which was advertised as a special, also excellent value and very tasty. Then the bartender proceeded to tell me the funny story behind this beer and its name. All in all, a fantastic evening at a wonderful bar. I'll be back next time I'm in Berlin.

The tables are mostly vintage wood. They have a separate smoking room (without a door). The bathroom is well lit and super clean! The two times that I visited, I had no problem finding a table to sit at with my group of friends. When there's a dj, the music is audible but not deafening, so you can hold a conversation with friends. It seems like a bar to start your night off with, as it clears out around 1 a.m. They offer a nice pilsner as their cheaper draught option. If you're interested in craft beer, they have a nice menu of bottled options. Just ask one of the nice bartenders for their current offerings :)
