I speak French, not completely fluent but quite enough. I asked to take away my leftover food, which is common now. The man, he was older, rolled his eyes and shot out a comment I didn't quite get, but from his tone I knew nothing would happen. My French friend then took over. She asked another woman, who came over and was very nice, packaged up everything very nicely and was kind. I know that there is some snobbiness here, but really it's uncalled for. The food was beautifully presented, but to be honest I did not enjoy. I ordered the ceviche, which appeared in presentation like a cappuccino. It was unrecognizable as ceviche, and the flavors and the fish was inedible. I tried. It was pretty but I wish I had ordered something else. I also ordered the hummous plate which was good, and a zucchini thing with cheese, which was quite good. The restaurant concept is good, but with the rude service and the weird food, IDK I'm probably not returning or recommending.

5 stars for the view and 4 stars for the food…read more We went on a Thursday and made reservations late in the afternoon for a table for 3 at 8pm. It's quite possible that tables fill up in advance for weekend nights, but we lucked out because we were seated at a table overlooking the Falaises d'Etretat, a stunningly picturesque view! We ordered a carafe of the house red, which was an incredible Bordeaux. They serve a basket of baguette and it was pretty disappointing as it was my first experience eating a mediocre baguette in France. Fortunately, the rest of the food made up for the bread. They offer a few menu options and we chose the three course meal for 22€. I chose a salmon tartare for my entree, the fish of the day for my main course, and the crepes with apples and caramel for my dessert. The salmon was excellent, my entree of white fish, vegetables, and risotto was also very good. The dessert was mediocre because the crepes seemed to be overcooked. Throughout the meal we enjoyed the view because at nightfall they light up one of the arches, illuminating the amazing cliffs and part of the ocean. I definitely recommend this place and try to get a table with a view of the ocean.

This is a small, simple, bustling and quaint little place. We were seated quickly and comfortably with another couple from our tour. The service was friendly and quick and our waiter was gracious enough to explain some of the items on the French menu. L'Envie offered that day a prix fixe lunch with a choice of several appetizers, entrees, and desserts. I chose to have the onion tarte, the boeuf bourguignon, and the passion fruit panna cotta. The onion tarte was divine, the bourguignon was delicious, and the panna cotta exquisite. It was a nice, relaxed, enjoyable experience. Afterwards we walked to Le Vieux Bassin (a small port in this little harbor) and then headed off to Normandy. Superb eating, beautiful weather, relaxed walk! Perfect day for a foodie in France!!
