Ok. Many restaurants in Bellagio are off the many stairs in the area. Small and intimate but full…read moreof experiences. We saw La Lanterna on our first night thought we have to give it a try while we were here. The next night we walked by and the was a table outside in the stairs. OK, it does not talk much to excite us but this was awesome. Enjoying our meal while watching people walk by and walk by. A lot of people walk by and look et you. So if you are self conscious ask to sit inside. They have a basic menu of pasta and at first we thought, "this will not be enough food." It was plenty and so flavorful. In our four weeks of travel in Italy and Greece, this was my most memorable and tasty meal. No hesitation. Just a cute little restaurant with a great eating experience.

Just barely beating the rush, we were given a lovely table inside and could enjoy the artsy decor--loved the flat wine bottle art, just wish it wasn't so expensive. 60 euros with the current exchange rate is a bit much especially that I was wary of being able to get it home safely! My mom went with the minestrone and she raved about it the rest of the trip! I dipped some of my bread in it and agree that it was quite good and that's not normally a soup I care for. The rest of us somehow all got lasagna and most of us enjoyed it, though one of the group found it too "creamy." I would agree that I do like a bit more mozzarella on my lasagna, but that could also be an American thing and not "authentic." Really the only negative here was having to go all the way downstairs to pay my bill. The restaurant isn't very big yet it was not the easiest journey and the wait down there was a bit long. Otherwise a great experience!

The wine selection was detailed. They had crazy levels of details about the wine and mentioned specific individual serving temperatures and the like.

I was not ready since it was a menu you had to scan and view in your phone. I ordered water and it came within a few minutes but then he never came back to take my food order. I had to stop him and call him over when he was at another table. I ordered the "city" which was a hero sized bread with a slice of chicken breast, bacon and a piece of lettuce. It didn't taste bad but the bread was so toasted that I could barely bite into it. I left about 75% of the sandwich because I only at the middle which was less toasted. He never came back to check up on me and I ended up going to the counter inside to pay. Maybe this is how it's done in Italy but it was very odd. It wasn't even busy which made it very frustrating. I could understand if it was packed and a lot of tables had to be served but it wasn't at all! Definitely would not come back and would not recommend.
