Well worth driving the seven miles south of Carmarthen to visit this marvellous 12th century ruin (which I did yesterday). There's a car park near the beach and you can then walk up the long steep hill path to the castle. Equally interesting`are the great views from the top over the River Tywi and the whole estuary, with lovely beaches both sides, and looking across to the village of Ferryside. read more
