They do a really good batter with the fish and I think that's what makes it good. Service is always very prompt - when we ring in an order, it's always waiting for us when we arrive. Their hot chips are good quality and they always give us a generous portion. They do a range of Chinese food too here and it is also quite good - considerably better than some of the rival takeaways in the neighbourhood. The Roberts Road location of these shops is quite popular with people on the weekends but you can generally get a park. There's a good selection of eateries here (Dominos, a bakehouse, Thai etc) but I reckon Blue Lagoon is probably the best of them. Make sure, if you get fish and chips, you get snapper as it's the best quality.

Spring rolls are the ultimate way to determine if a takeaway store is worth returning to, so naturally I had to get one at Tony's. And I admit, I was a little disappointed. Much to my surprise, the spring roll tasted like cinnamon. I couldn't really figure it out. It wasn't terrible as such, just unexpected.... That being said, the fried rice was brilliant. It wasn't oily and didn't make you feel guilty for eating most of the container - which I did. The portions were good and prices were what you'd expect - about $10 for fried rice. Tony's chips were also pretty good - crisp and crunchy; just the way I like them, and with a good amount of salt too. There's nothing worse than not enough salt on your hot chips, so while their spring rolls were a bit strange, you can rely on Tony's to supply good fried rice, sausages and chips. If you can't the chips right, you've failed, no matter how good any of your other food may be, in my honest opinion. Adriactic's chips are great. They are perfectly yellow, perfectly crunchy on the outside and nice and potatoey on the inside. They give you the perfect amount of salt, and they are never that greasy. Their fritters are good too, not too thick and not too much batter. I hate when there's too much potato and it isn't cooked inside, or when there is too much batter it's like a batter fritter, and you're left thinking 'where's the potato!'. Not a long wait time, and it's pretty cheap. Oh and their fish burgers are delicious as well.

We turned up on Saturday to grab a quick meal on the way through. We were on a tight schedule, so rang ahead to order even though we were planning to eat in. A great move! We arrived to find the place PACKED. Seriously. With this is mind, I was impressed at both the staff and the food. It was amazing watching the staff work - a seriously well-oiled, quick-as team. The guy serving us actually managed to be quite friendly- probably more than I would have managed with that many people to deal with. The food was standard burger fuel quality - ie, much better than your standard burger, but not life changing. I was definitely expecting the burgers to be less well prepared than the normal BF burgers though, given how fast they were working, but was pleasantly surprised that the quality was as good as normal, and they managed not to stuff up the gluten free part of the meal. The wait between ringing to order and having our meals in front of us was probably only 25 minutes - pretty good considering the queues Also, I'm not sure if this is now standard BF practice (it wasn't the case at the Glenfield one I used to go to), but I do like the fact that this Burger Fuel serves your burgers on actual plates if you eat in, and has a liquor license, so if you want to feel a bit posh while eating your burger, you can order a glass of wine.
