We rented a property through LJ Hooker Brisbane west for 12 months and were thoroughly pleased for the majority of our time. The first property manager we had was rather rude and gave advice that ran counter to the RTA Tenancy Rules however after she left we had an amazing experience and a brilliant property manager. Repairs were actioned promptly, minimal inspections and a wealth of notice when they were scheduled. No issues with bond refund or the exit process. Thanks Leena and LJ Hooker Brisbane West for a great experience. read more

I came in on a Saturday morning at 9:30 to pick up keys to my new place, and the office was SEVERELY understaffed. One poor lady on reception trying to field calls, and handle the 4-5 groups waiting around while she was on the phone. The gentleman in front of me was doing the same as myself, and his property manager had lost his welcome pack with keys etc. so I had to wait while the only lady in the office looked through the whole back room, whilst also running to answer the phone 3-4 times in between. My pack was there thankfully, and I was out of there quickly, but they've really got to anticipate the level of people coming through at any one time. One poor person trying to run a whole office, answer calls and find things for people coming through just isn't going to work! Definitely not her fault though, she was doing an excellent job, but there's only so much you can do with one person. On another note, communication with my new property manger has been abysmal. Several unanswered emails, to rather critical questions, so I was able to move in on the right day and ensure my furniture fit, are still unanswered... Even an apology email would be welcome. read more

Experienced a professional agent service since my family planed to move from Sydney to Brisbane. Searching property resources through LJ Hooker's website, contacting staff, signing contract, moving interstate, settling down...really a wonderful one-stop service. Good communication, punctual inspections, nice staff during lease period, I don't think other agents can beat though I have rented properties from a couple of other agents. Will highly recommend!!! read more

I have rented with L J Hooker Toowong since 2011 and i have never had a worse experience with any other real estate agent before. they are incompetent. they do not look after there properties well. when you contact them to let them know there is a maintenance issues they ignore you and let it get to the point where it causes damage to the property then blames you for it. They are rude and i have never met a nastier bunch of people in my life. I should of listen to all the people that warned me about renting through them as if i had of listened to those people i would of saved myself a lot of heartache. read more

I totally agree with Tegan's comment as our experience was almost identical. Total mismanagement from the word go. Lost paperwork, unanswered emails and phone calls, property 'manager' lying to her boss to cover herself and boss backing her up. Very arrogant, rude and unhelpful. Repair requests not attended to and then at the end of the lease they claimed damages off our bond. They even lost the keys returned by the cleaners at the end of the lease, blamed us for not returning them and threatened to charge us to have the locks changed. When the cleaners were able to describe in detail the guy who they handed the keys to, no more was said. No apology either. This experience has turned me off LJHooker as a brand forever. Maybe they look after the 'flasher' properties, but the Uni student occupied ones are a very, very low priority. Stay away from this circus. read more

After renting for 10+ years, I've never encountered a worse agency than LJ Hooker Brisbane West. Unlawful entry, no procedures for notifying of maintenance issues and staff are rude and seem to change over every couple of weeks. In my 2 years of renting with them, I dealt with 5+ property managers! Now I am a homeowner, I will definitely be looking elsewhere for my property management services. Avoid at all costs. read more

If you're renting from them, be very careful to mark everything in your entry report, and also take photos for your reference, otherwise, they will over charge you. PS: Google reviews are overly manipulated I guess. read more

Frank Ham, Principal and Licensee, has been in the property industry for over 23 years, gaining experience in all facets from general real estate through to property management, investment, development sales, new homes and land sales. As Principal and Licensee of the LJ Hooker Brisbane West and LJ Hooker Project Marketing QLD team, he leads by example, using his knowledge and skills in the marketplace as well as guiding and mentoring his strong team. LJ Hooker Brisbane West have always assisted myself with any of my renting needs. My agent Robyn has always been easy to contact and get a hold of, and has been a far better experience than my other property managers that I have dealt with elsewhere. I feel looked after and that LJ Hooker has my best interests at heart. I know that if I ever purchased a property, that LJ Hooker Brisbane west would be my first choice as an investment property because of their attention to detail, professional manner and their customer service. Whenever we have an inspection, my property manager checks the property thoroughly to make sure that we are respecting and taking care of our landlords home. Our house has flooded previously, and in 2013 LJ Hooker Brisbane West actually contacted myself before any of my friends or family did, asking if we were ok. That's not something many real estates would do, and the fact that they cared to check on us in the first place, meant a lot in a very stressful time of our lives.
