With stranger or complicated queries (such as an overpaid water bill) they were quick to contact everyone necessary to sort the issue out. Dave (I forget his last name) was always very helpful and whenever we called up about repairs or any matter in fact it was dealt with very speedily. Their office is in Toowong, a short walk around the corner from Toowong Village. However, for most things, RE/MAX either called, emailed or came to the house. It was only ever when I needed to drop of paperwork that I visited their office location. These guys were very easy to deal with and help keep the stress low when it comes to share housing, moving, repairs, and just general house worries.

I went to a Day of the Dead party the other week hosted by the Thought Fort's friends, frankie&bs. Sometimes I feel dread when I go to costume parties. Is anyone else going to be dressed up? Is this bespeckled robed rooster I'm wearing on my head too much? Well, let me tell you this. The Thought Fort is a place home to all sorts of creatives by day and by night. As soon as I walked into the venue, I felt right at home. The venue was in the best costume of all, and everyone within it was wearing costumes too. There were dj's in one corner, and a makeshift bar at the front where you walk in. There were a multitude of rainbow crepe organisms that just seemed to grow out of the walls. Local artists were exhibiting their work there as well. The balcony that wraps around the building gave a sweet reprieve from the sultry heat of the dancefloor. The parties held at Thought Fort usually shut down at 12, but then, because you're just on the outskirts of the valley, it ain't no thang to shimmy your way into the lion's den intersection of Ann and Brunswick Street. If you wanted to arrange an event at the Thought Fort, you'd do best to contact them during daytime hours (see phone number) and see what they've got to say about it.

I currently look out onto a row of city council bins, I am sweltering in my 5x 5 metre home office space and I've befriended the neighbourhood stray cat, such is my need for a sounding board to run my ideas pass. For self-employed people working from home, the Thought Fort is Brisbane's latest 24 hour co-working studio space. It's a great idea for those who don't like to mix their domestic life with work or just need to upgrade to a professional space for client meetings without the complications of leasing a commercial office. Prices range from daily, weekly or monthly hire and include a desk, air-conditioning, internet access, cleaning, basic printing (don't print a magazine), Friday beers and an exotic fish tank. Also included is the great opportunity to network with like-minded people who are sharing the same experiences of building a business. The current tenants are an eclectic mix of designers, musicians, artists and programmers but don't let this deter you from applying. If you're working on a great idea, you need some temporary office space, you want like-minded people to inspire and support you, then check out the Thought Fort. The Thought Fort is located 550m away from Brunswick St Station and 850m away from Central Station.

Maybe it is because there happens to be some rather inexpensive hotels here. Well, this one actually wasn't all that bad. Sure, the room was quite small, but then again I have somewhat come to accept that, particularly since I generally don't like to over pay for hotel rooms. The service was pretty good, and the wifi was actually quite good. Oh, and the place wasn't all that far away from the inner city, as well as Roma Street Station, which makes it somewhat easy to get to the airport. Also, despite the heat, the rooms were also quite cool as well. This place actually wasn't all that bad, though they don't have any breakfast facilities.

We applied for our pet three times through the real estate and they did not pass this onto body corporate at all. We even had the council called to remove her, and threats from the body corporate to evict us. They never issued us with entry reports, they completely screwed us over on our exit report. We had our bond cleaner with 7 day guarantee on Friday, and conveniently they did not get our exit report to us within 7 days and we needed to pay for another cleaner. They advertised the unit as a 'quiet' living place, but for the first 6 months of our lease the BC jackhammered up all the tiles in the courtyard, directly outside our window. We were given no warning of the construction and would not have signed this lease if we knew about it. When something was broken it took up to SIX MONTHS for it to be repaired. You can forgive an 'honest mistake' once but there is a line when this happens constantly. The worst real estate I have ever dealt with.

Yet, in the industrial back streets of Mansfield, Book To Cook have managed to deliver just that.
