Chorizo potatoes w egg and beans
Annette M.

This place had high ratings, and it did not disappoint! I ordered the chorizo with potatoes, eggs, and beans, and everything was fresh and flavorful. The plate had a generous amount of chorizo, which was a nice surprise. We loved it so much we went twice before leaving. The service was good, and overall, it's a spot I'd recommend if you're in Laughlin.

Upon entering the establishment you will locate this place on a strip mall. Formerly known as Lizzys Kitchen. The a staff hostess Michelle greeted upon entry and allowed us to pick our own seat. The ambiance on a Holiday was very chill, not as busy for being 10:40am. Overall the pozole was plenty for sharing. The to go tamale and egg dish was also ordered. I will recommend comming to this place and try the pozole. Apparently they sell both menudo and pozole, which is rare to serve on a daily! Please enjoy the pictures.

Just needs a good scrubbing

This is the first time here. The lady at target suggested this place. Food was yummy. I've been coming to Bullhead City for 10 years and never knew about this little spot. It's hidden right across from sonic, but so glad I came here. Only reason for four stars instead of five. It needs a good scrubbing. It makes it so much nicer to eat in a place that's clean clean. The waitress was super nice. The food was good but it was just dirty looking. I will definitely be back because my husband enjoyed his Menudo. But just a tip clean those walls .

Took a drive over to Bullhead city to get some lunch and lottery tickets. The original place we were going to go to was a little too busy so we headed on down the road and stumbled across this place. It has american and Mexican food. Breakfast and lunch items. I was craving Mexican so that is what we got. I got enchiladas and my husband got chilaquiles. We enjoyed them. Had to put some of the green salsa on the table to make it spicy but it was very cheesy!!!!

Best mom and pop shop I have ever been to. I came in December 2023 because we were looking for someone on our way home back to Cali. My husband and I had to do a turn around trip I'm April 2024 and I had to come here. The food is so great I wish we had a Lizzy's Kitchen back home. We tried the carne asada chiliquiles mild and they were a great combination. They do have mild and hot for those people who like chiliquiles spicy. The menudo also had so much flavor. Everything on the menu sounded good and the prices are very reasonable.

Green Chilaquiles with Beans

The food was delicious, I had the spicy green chilaquiles with beans so amazing!!! My husband, daughter and daughter in law also enjoyed all their food. We were seated quickly by our waitress dest and received our drinks, just a few minutes after we ordered food was on the table. I would totally recommend this place to anyone looking for something tasty.

Lots has changed since covid. Lost some booths, cashiers counter in front of the kitchen. Booths where the cashiers used to be. We are quickly greeted and sat. Immediately got coffee and water. 5 minutes later got salsa, green and red sauce bottles, fantastic. 17 minutes later our food came out. Hot, tasty, crunchy. Tender, just what I wanted this morning. Our server was the only one here, at 730am. She was a pro, checked on us several times. She got a 30% tip because folks just don't do that much. Good help is hard to find.

Unfortunately food was not fresh nor tasty. Restaurant looked like it needed a facelift. Sorry but food was not impressive in any fashion.

As far as I am concerned, this is the best Mexican food on either side of the Colorado. Starting with the freshly made corn and flour tortillas (I usually eat flour tortillas, but at El Charro, I will choose corn tortillas 99.9% of the time.) The chips are terrific with two salsas brought to the table. The Choriqueso is a cheesy deliciousness. I am not really a pozole fan, but here, it is very good and really has an awesome taste. I always get their menudo. Lots of honey comb and a good ratio of corn to meat. For me, the fact that I can get pata is great because it is becoming harder to find many restaurants that will provide you with that delicacy. I always alternate between their different tacos and this time I got a tripa taco. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it is great here. Well fried and crispy and with their hotter salsa spread over it, with fresh tortilla, I am in heaven. From my first trip to this restaurant, I have always loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. It truly feels like a great little Mexican restaurant and I am happy to see they have expanded. I envy all you folks who live in Bullhead City and have easy access to this restaurant. I live in Phoenix and no trip to Laughlin is complete without a stop to El Charro.

While on our yearly vacation, our family decided to have dinner here. Before we were seated, one of…read morethe staff members told us that we couldn't bring the baby's water tumbler inside and that we needed to take it back to the car. When we politely asked why, we weren't given an explanation--just repeatedly told that we couldn't bring it in. We were confused and even debated whether we wanted to stay. I eventually asked another staff member, who kindly explained the reason behind the policy. Once it was explained, we completely understood and were fine with it. A simple explanation from the beginning would have made all the difference. The rest of our experience was wonderful. Our server was attentive, friendly, and on top of everything throughout our meal. The food was also delicious, and everyone in our party really enjoyed it. The place looked great except for the restroom trash can was overflowing with paper towels, maybe invest in a bigger trash can if you have that much foot traffic However, toward the end of dinner, we noticed another family with a child who had a water bottle at their table. That left us confused all over again. If the policy applies to everyone, it should be enforced consistently. If there are exceptions, those should be communicated clearly. Overall, we enjoyed the food and service, but the inconsistent handling of the water bottle policy left us with mixed feelings.

We stayed 5.5 miles away, on the River Walk, made the leisurely return drive to Bonito once we saw the colorful frontage on an earlier foray into Bullhead City for necessary provisions once we RECOILED from the sky high prices at the Harrah's Tropicana (ex, $7.49 for a 20oz jar of Diet Pepsi). BG greets its guests with festive, brightly painted dark orange. We began our course with a titanic mango margarita. To their credit, they feature warmed bean dip topped with crumbled queso fresco as an accompaniment to their chips/salsa. Leti, after choosing BG for its seafood heavy menu, threw a curve and opted for a bowl of birria soup. I chose an Asada Chimichanga with a duo of asada tacos dorados. The tortillas are handmade and delicious! Both Leti and I marveled at the quality of the house Mexican rice, super fresh, fluffed and teeming with a light, florid tomato-dense taste complimented by Lima beans. Quite the refreshing departure from the bland rice dispensed by 90% of Mexican restaurants! My wife said that her Caldo de Birria was good...but that it wasn't super plentiful in meat. My chimi arrived golden brown with a heap of melted cheddar jack cheese bullseyed on the top. The interior is studded with asada, bell peppers and onions. First time I've ever seen bell peppers utilized inside burritos! The asada crunchy (dorado) tacos were generously stuffed with asada...but zero accompaniments like onions/cilantro/lettuce or tomato. I hadta redeploy the lettuce/tomato served alongside my chili, inside my tacos! If you're gonna charge $5/Taco at least send them properly attired! Gentle suggestion: Consider offering guests a side serving of fresh lettuce, tomato, diced onions and cilantro to dress up their tacos. Or, serve them with a ramekin of steamy birria broth... The mango marg was not "super sweet" (as our server Daniela had described) and we both thought it was stingy on the tequila, esp for its $16.99 belt, er, tab. Our bill was $86 incl taxes and tip for two entrees, a cocktail and a soda.
