Upon my last visit to the office, I was told they would be closing due to business reasons. They played a MAJOR role in getting my body back to where I needed it to be, to avoid future health and mobility issues and back surgery. I started going in 2010 after they came to my school and gave staff a free session, i decided to give them a try after I had been taken advantage of by another chiropractor. I would not recommend this practice to anyone. I have been to see many doctors, chiropractors, physical therapists, alternative medicine practitioners, etc., and I have never experienced such poor service. I couldn't disagree more with the other reviews. When I arrived for any initial visit, I waited for AN HOUR before I was seen by a counselor (not even the real doctor). During this hour, I had to fill out countless forms (most offices send forms in advance of your appointment, to cut down on wait time). I also had to watch an awful, corny movie from 1990 that told me how Chiropractic works. THEN, I had to read a series of laminated brochures. After an hour, I was taken into an office with a counselor, where she proceeded to ask me a series of questions, most of which I had already answered on the 15 pages of paperwork I had already filled out. Then, she proceeded to quiz me (seriously, I'm not joking) on what I had read in the pamphlets! The counselor asked me if I was ready for my xrays. Xrays? I haven't even seen the doctor yet. No one has felt my spine or examined me, and they already are telling me that I need xrays? I had to pay the full price for the xrays now, up front, and they would reimburse me later based on my insurance plan. (It is now 2 months later, and I am currently after them because they have neither 1. submitted to my insurance company or 2. reimbursed me for any amount. I cannot get anyone at the office to return my calls.) THEN, they took me to another area where I waited for the doctor for another 10 minutes. Finally the doctor came in, pressed in a few places, asked me more questions I had already answered, and took my xrays. After that, I waited another 10 minutes to be adjusted by a different doctor. A week later, I came back in to review my xrays. AGAIN I had to watch a different movie! And read different pamphlets! And again I had to meet with the counselor, who again quizzed me on the movie and pamphlets! After we reviewed the xrays with the first doctor, they informed me that I would need to come for 60 visits. I would have to sign a contract agreeing to come for all 60 visits, and if I missed one without rescheduling right away, I'd be fined! I would have to come three times a week, no exceptions. The total expense for the 60 visits (even with my insurance's contribution) was over $1500. You had to either pay up front, pay as you went, or set up an auto debit, but you had to sign a contract AGREEING TO PAY FOR 60 VISITS. Is this a doctor's office or a car dealership? I left and went to another chiropractor in the area, who told me this place is notorious. Since, I have met several other people who had negative experiences with this practice--some even got into legal disputes over their chiropractic "contract." read more

I can only think of one word when it clmes to this place SHADY! I wish I knew then what I know now when it comes to chiropractic care because these guys are sleezeballs. It started with the overly aggressive saleswoman trying to convince me that my spine was about to fall out and that my neck curve was so terrible that I had to get the treatment or I may die lol.. I'm not exaggerating. After a while I started pushing back and telling her to stop trying to sell me on something that I've already decided that I wanted to get. The owner gave me a very sleazy vibe and I didnt believe he was really a skilled doctor. He had to adjust me once when my doctor was gone but his adjustments were less than effective. I actually liked the doctor that did my adjustments and he seemed like a decent guy but I'm sure he is working somewhere else by now lol. Eventhough the doctor was kool, he made fill out a chart with all of my pain areas but he ignored it and just adjusted my back and neck. never my legs, shoulders or arms etc.. He seemed annoyed with the fact that he was working there most of the time. They basically set their office up like a puppy mill. Everyone gets a 5 minute visit with the doctor and then you're out the door lol. No one gets to actually converse with him and get their needs met at a sufficient level. At least that wasnt my experience. You can tell they have structured the business around profit and getting as many patients seen on a daily basis as possible. Even down to the fact that they troll professional setting because they know those people have insurance they can exploit. They will also harass you after you're done so be prepared lol read more

I travel a lot. I see a lot of chiropractors. Dr. Jarrett is, hands down, the best I've seen. The office is a well-oiled machine and though they see many, many patients, the wait is never long and each patient is treated with individual care. What I like best about Dr. Jarrett is that he relies on x-rays to treat my neck problem. Rather than guessing, he knows exactly what's wrong. Because I'm only 25, most doctors did not take my complaints about neck pain seriously, chalking it up to stress. Dr. Jarrett took the x-ray and even I could see that my neck was severely misaligned and showing signs of rapid deterioration unusual for my age. Now I take chiropractic care very, very seriously and am working on fixing the problem. I highly recommend this office to friends in the Baltimore area. I really think my decision to visit Dr. Jarrett last year was one of the best ones I made in my life. read more

What a well-oiled, slippery, money-making, customer scamming business this is. They've got their their scam down to a craft.... distribute free assessment and free water massage appointment coupons to reel the customer in (even when you tell them you don't have problems), give you the royal treatment while there and pass thorough each perfectly scripted and tailored phase of your first appointment, discover problems with your body you never know you had ("your forward head tilt is one of the most drastic we've ever seen" - though I don't have this problem as they say), determine a lengthy treatment plan while working the ins and outs of your insurance plan, then setting you up for the free massage. They way they reel in customers is dirty and unethical. Perhaps they successfully treat patients with legitimate problems - I don't know, but their sales tactics prey upon people. Apparently they have renamed their business - no wonder.... It's called Advanced Medical Center (Integrated Health). Avoid. read more

I am aware that my specific circumstance might not apply to every patient at the center, but I figured I would share my story below for those that are on the fence about getting treatment here like I was. I went to this center because I had an offer of a free message and consult. I went and not only did I have to wait over an hour both times I went, they lied to me about my x-rays to try to get me to spend $2000 on 6 months of unneeded chiropractics. How did I, a non doctor know that they lied about the X-rays? Luckily I took a picture of the x-rays on my phone and I sent them to a friend of mine who is a doctor and can read x-rays. He told me this: This Chiropractor is a charlatan. He should never have taken x-Rays unless you presented with complaints of severe neck pain. It is an assault on you to perform an unnecessary x-ray, as x-rays are not benign. Regardless you have a very mild straightening of the cervical spine, most likely due to muscle tension, from the stress of working over papers and a desk. If you do have neck discomfort, all you need to do is take a hot shower, apply a hotpack stretch or have someone massage your neck. Anyone with neck curvature equivalent to the greenline he drew, would be considered to have significant pathological lordosis. {For some context: in the x-ray there was a red line drawn along my spine and a green line drawn supposedly where a healthy spine should be} The x-ray of you reveals an insignificant scoliosis that is consistent with the majority of the population. It is an incidental finding. It is insignificant, does not require treatment and does and it does not cause symptoms. Neither of these curves are correctable by chiropractic manipulation. All he wants to do is defraud you knew of $2000. Run away from him as fast as you can. read more

This is a long story. Living Wellness goes around to local schools and offers free massages for the staff members in the break room. I took them up on their offer 3 years ago. I was pregnant at the time and was told that I really shouldn't get the massage but that they would see me in their office and offered a pregnancy safe water chair massage. I was totally fine with that and went in. Well, as another reviewer pointed out, the initial visit takes forever. I was there for at least a hour and a half. No doctor ever looked at my back or examined my spine. I was unable to get X-rays because I was pregnant. However, they came up with a pregnancy treatment plan and asked me to come in 3x a week! I was working full time and in grad school and decided to pass. I got many phone calls after the visit trying to schedule a follow up appointment but I was just turned off from their office. That isn't my biggest problem with the office. I continue to get letters, sent from Dr Cohen, that he is very concerned about my xrays and is worried about my nervous system and overall health. I NEVER GOT XRAYS! (I actually just received a letter today, 3 years later!) They are using scare tactics to get people to come in! Chiropractors can be so amazing and helpful-but have a hard enough time defending their profession without an office lying about treatments I need. read more

Terrible. Tried to scare my girlfriend into getting 3X weekly adjustments! She went to a trusted family friend who is a chiropractor and they told her all she needed was stretches and monthly massages. This place will try to scare and upsell you. AVOID! Very untrustworthy. Furthermore their Google reviews are all overwhelmingly positive and all of them smack of generic shit anyone could write, nothing specific. I don't like their high pressured sales tactics and they wanted upfront payment for 65 visits. Also, I found errors in their cost estimates and insurance coverage projection. The receptionists are great. The doctors are kind. I appreciate that they make you do physical therapy in addition to getting adjusted because it helps strengthen the muscles and helps with posture. Makes sense, right? When I came in, I complained of severe neck pain and constant headaches. I was told that after 12 visits I would feel much better. Throughout 30 visits my condition never improved and no steps were taken to change my medical routine, provide additional excersises/stretches or do anything to help the very issue I came in to solve. Other issues are the same as another reviewer. The written contracts. When you begin I have to come 3 times a week and if you miss a visit you get charged. I was supposed to be charged monthly and after 2 months I was told I needed to pay the entire balance of all my visits before I left that day. Because someone wasn't paying attention, I ended up coming 3 times over my contract. I was the one who pointed it out asking what the line on my chart meant and if it indicated that I needed to see someone special. That same day, after 3 seperate reviews of my chart and after being treated AGAIN, I was told I had to pay for each visit because my insurance ended 4 sessions prior. They claim to care about your long term wellness and that they won't turn people away but that wasn't the case for me. My last piece of advice is to make sure you request to be taken off the call list when/if you end services. They aggressively call you and try to get you to come back after you leave. read more

Total scam!! Do not go here!! They go to schools and offer these teacher specials, stating they give free massages to teachers and a friend for a first visit, so I signed up. I took my husband with me today And it was a complete lie. They wanted all this info, including our social security numbers. I questioned why that would be needed if we were only there for massages. It turned out we weren't actually getting massages. And they wanted us to buy some chiropractic package. We left. Don't bother. read more

I agree completely wiht Nicole R. This operation is a bait and switch on billing and a shyster operation trying to bilk people. I've been going to chiropractors for over 20 years and never encountered the things that occurred here. Just from a general perspective, Nicole R. is right about the insane paperwork they make you fill out, the stupid videos they want you to watch and the pamphlet reviews they want you to do....all before being carted off by a person who then makes you recite it all again... she took me in the back room and asked how my neck pain 'affected my day'.. I said, as written on the forms, that I got migraines... she then went into this whole thing trying to get me to tell her "all the exact and specific ways it affected my daily activity and work", "does it make you less focused,....etc, endlessly" then "exactly how extensive is each".... then rate every different kind of migraine and its' effect".... on and on unnecessary crap.. I have migraines, I need my neck cracked every 4 weeks and it helps--- end of story -- all that I need... Oh no... they require xrays, then try to sell you the 5 month 3x week package minimum at the 'follow up ' appointment. Keep in mind I've now spent hours at the initial appointment before even getting a 5 minute crack of my neck. Now I'm back 2 days later(their insistance) for another 45 minute 'review of xrays' - where they try to sell you the complete care. As I said, I've never been through such a crazy mess with any other chiropractor. Then I had this entire bait and switch with the billing. This is a bait and switch, shyster operation. I called in advance specifically to check that they took my insurance and that they confirmed that I had 100% coverage for chiropractic with no co-pay and no deductible. They ran my insurance information and confirmed this. Then I arrive and spend well over an hour with unnecessary paperwork and "introductory" things. They take xrays that they assure me I won't be billed for in any way but then at the second visit, suddenly I'm told there's a copay for the xrays. They have me pay a copay that I was told I didn't have when I scheduled the appointment. After the appointment I contacted my insurance company and spoke to a representative who assured my my chiropractic is covered 100% and stated that if they were trying to bill it under a 'physical therapy' heading that would trigger the co-pay but that if all I had was chiropractic and that was all I want, they should bill as such and I'd be charged nothing. I then asked again about the copay and told them I had spoken to insurance. I was then speaking to the same woman who had run my insurance while on the phone and assured me that I was fully covered. She then says that they are allowed and do bill as a 'specialist' so all my chiropractic would require a copay. I've never encountered such a bait and switch operation and such lies as I encountered in the entirety of my visits with this chiropractor. Even beyond the billing issues, it was clear that they were trying to set up a system to 'milk' clients-- with excessive and unnecessary practices that I've never been subjected to in 20 years of chiropractic care. read more

I worked for Living Wellness for a short time years ago. The founding doctors were a married couple. They we're really nice, though very quickly into the new position, I was made to participate in weekly study sessions of Scientology lessons, that also included "confessions" of anything we think we did wrong in the past week, etc.. I wasn't comfortable with the aggressive sales they mandated either, scaring patients into getting care that they could barely afford, even offering "hardship agreements" so they could literally squeeze money from those with lower incomes. Shortly after a "business trip" to Clearwater, FL (it was basically a convention of other chiropractic offices who also forced their employees to study Scientology!), I was terminated because I expressed my aversion to the mandatory studies. Love this place!! From the first time I walked in and was greeted at the front desk by the smiling receptionist I knew this was the chiropractor for me. They give great education and want you to know what is happening with your body. The doctors are friendly, and want to help you not only feel better, but to help fix what's causing the pain. My treatment is great, it consists of exercises to help my posture, chiropractic adjustment and then rehab machines to help fix what they found on my xrays. I'm really glad that I chose to go here. I can see myself continuing in this office for a long time. read more

I have had scoliosis since I was a teenager. I've seen a couple doctors, who told me there was nothing that could be done, and gone to a couple of chiropractors, who helped some but it wasn't a permanent fix. A few months ago I collapsed on my sofa with sciatica. Living Wellness saw me that same day, I had an adjustment and immediately felt better. At the follow up appointment, I signed on for an intensive treatment plan. Not only was everyone there super nice and knowledgeable, but I just discovered I GREW ONE INCH since my treatment (which ended about two months ago). At 46.5 years old, it's pretty exciting to know that I'm taller than I was a few months ago. This was the most intensive treatment I've ever had for my scoliosis (3x per week, with traction machines and other exercises on top of adjustments). Yes, it was expensive and my insurance sucks, but I feel better and am taller! I think the cost is worth it. I'd rather pay now than need a hip replacement or some other awful surgery down the road. read more
