The items were very reasonably priced in fact they have the same as on 5th Ave. lol Well some. The staff speak Spanish and very few speak English in fact we have not come across any staff that did to tell you the truth. So brush up on speaking Spanish!!! The tellers are friendly and there is a person that bags your groceries and you are required to tip. This location is a superstore, which carry groceries, clothes, household products and more. During our stay we will be returning.

This supermercado far outstrips any of the offerings south of this point, and should be a stop you make on the way from the airport to Tulum or really any points south. Located inside a weird sort of mini-mall, the Soriana has a surprisingly decent selection of produce, a very large and diverse selection of regular groceries, a big meat, deli and cheese selection, and pretty much everything you could want. The spirits selection is larger than your average supermercado. Prices are pretty decent. Don't miss the little deli section on the left hand side of the store (when facing in from the front) with various types of interesting Mexican cheeses and chorizos. Nothing too artisan or fancy here, but some decent stuff. The only things this place is missing are maybe a fresh salsa bar, some more artisan things, and maybe a little bit better produce section. But compared to other markets in the area, it easily holds its own.

The walk was not so bad, maybe 10 minutes from the Plaza. You see government building and hotels. There are very few tourists on this street. We ended up seeing Chedraui on our way to Mega and stopped after. I found the prices to be better here. The selection is about the same. We were souvenir shopping. They had a wide selection of souvenirs but I found the prices to be about the same as at the touristy Plaza Longosto. Nonetheless, I came to get treats for the ship crew and found what I was looking for.

We enjoy stopping by Costco when traveling just to see what may be different. Some of the more notable items were 5 gallon paint, mini split AC units, local cheeses just to name a few. The costs were much better than in the dates wish I could bring stuff back with me.

I am writing this to bring attention to a serious scam that occurred inside your Walmart 24h store…read morein Cancun. During my visit, a man named Mike, wearing a Walmart name tag, approached us inside the store and offered what he claimed was an official Walmart promotion: * 6 round-trip ferry tickets to Isla Mujeres * A full-day golf cart rental * Lunch on the island * Hotel pickup All for USD $120, with a $30 deposit. He repeatedly assured us that he worked for Walmart, not any resort, and that it was NOT a timeshare sales pitch. However, later that night he messaged us saying the pickup would be changed to 8:00 AM so he could take us to another resort for breakfast -- something we never agreed to. When we insisted on sticking to the original 9:30 AM plan, he showed up the next morning and again pressured us to go to the resort to attend a 1.5-hour presentation, which was obviously a timeshare scheme. When we refused, he told us the trip was canceled and that our $30 deposit was being kept by his "boss." He then claimed we would have to return to Walmart to get it back. Before we could even discuss it further, he jumped onto a bus and disappeared. This was misrepresentation, dishonesty, and a clear scam -- all happening inside Walmart premises, by someone wearing a Walmart name badge. I am requesting: 1. Walmart Cancun to investigate how scammers are operating inside your store while appearing to be legitimate staff. 2. The resort involved to take responsibility for using deceptive tactics to lure tourists into timeshare presentations. 3. A refund of the $30 deposit that was taken under false pretenses. 4. Measures to ensure this does not happen to other visitors. Tourists should feel safe inside a well-known retailer like Walmart -- not targeted by scammers pretending to be staff. We all went to 5th Ave in Playa Del Carmen and that's when I found this shop. Exactly the things I wanted only better. The shirts all had a little difference to them. The stitching had small details that set them apart. The quality was even better and at a quarter of the price. The only problem was that there were so many different colors I wanted but was set on only getting 2.
