My husband, Phil, and I waited for 3 years for this wedding because of COVID. At first, it was going to be at Wedgewood Brittany Hill in CO, then it got cancelled because of COVID, then Wedgewood Carmel in CA when things started to reopen, and finally we moved it to Hofmann Ranch because my mom is struggling with complications from her double knee replacement surgeries that were postponed because of COVID and she couldn't fly to CA. The day before our wedding, Southwest cancelled Phil's best man's and his wife's flights, Phil's cousins' flights, and my friend's flights and my uncle had to drive all the way from San Diego the day before the wedding. We were beyond worried and devastated. Because of the Hofmann Ranch team, we felt so secure and so loved and our families and friends were able to meet each other for the first time and connect with each other. Britney thought of everything: making sure that my mom had a place to sit so that she could march with me halfway down the path of the patio deck, she held onto my train, she made a water color Phannie drink sign that was gorgeous, she made sure that we ate, she thought of every single detail and schedule change when our families kept talking and singing (this is what happens when you get a whole bunch of Filipinos together LOL), she made sure that Phil and I ate food, and there are countless other things that I am sure that we don't know about. Giving Britney my bouquet was the only way that I could say how grateful I was for creating a magical place and experience in spite of all the obstacles. Phil and I are so thrilled and feel like we were destined to be married at Hofmann Ranch. You have a special place in our hearts. I hope that your mother liked the bouquet. Against the cream drapery that draped so gracefully throughout the venue, the papel picado became a stunning focal point that felt neither overdone nor understated, just perfectly balanced. The floral arrangements in deep fall reds were breathtaking. They were layered beautifully with the florals and greenery, creating such a cohesive, intentional look. Nothing felt random or out of place. What impressed us most was how our decorator understood that true elegance comes from restraint and intentionality. Every detail from the cream drapery that created such soft, romantic shadows to the warm tones of the terracotta came together to create a space that felt sophisticated, refined, and unmistakably special. They visited our home in advance (at no charge or obligation) to get a feel for the place, select a place for him to perform, and confirm the music set list, which he had e-mailed to us in advance. Chris is himself retired from the Air Force and a former member of Tops in Blue, a touring performance ensemble made up of active duty members of the United States Air Force formed in 1953. Chris plays gigs as a member of The Azul Experience, a three-piece band. However, for our party, he played electric guitar and sang with a backing musical soundtrack. He arrived early and set up unobtrusively as we prepared for the party. He played well timed songs for the surprise and a touching tribute to my friend's career in the Air Force. The set list was quite varied and included everything from Kool & The Gang to Steely Dan. Everyone LOVED the music and he stayed after his performance to just hang out with us.
