It's been several years but I've had hydrafacials at med spas in Blackhawk before, and this felt like a more nourishing and aligned experience. Danielle really listened to my needs. I felt she really listened to my needs. For example, in the appointment notes, I put that I didn't want to discuss anti-aging, but rather focus on health and clean skin. I told her about my sensitive cheeks. She did a great job of focusing on what was important to me rather than pushing an agenda. Emily the nail tech is simply THE BEST! She has brought my brittle nails back to life! Now i never want short nails ever again!! Her creativity and willingness to try different nail art and techniques show how passionate she is in her work. I love how different my nails are designed. I keep throwing her some crazy inspo pictures and she puts her spin on it and knocks it out the park!!! Structured manicure is the way to go! Safely growing out my nails to the longest they have ever been. She's very gentle, very clean, and makes sure i like the design. She's the sweetest! I see her every 3-4 weeks, and I always make sure to prebook at least 3 appointments out because she is busy! I'm happy to refer her more clients when people ask where I get my nails done. People are always saying how pretty they look and how they can't tell if they are real or not . The facials are fabulous and they also offer microdermabrasion and Micro-needling which I get often . I recently had a serious situation when I went to get a manicure. The work was good and the gal who did them was nice but another customer was there when I walked in and her large dog ran over to me and immediately started licking me. I quickly called out that I was extremely allergic to dogs, which the dog owner replied indifferently that the dog was hypoallergenic, and turned away unconcerned by the fact that her dog continued to lick me. I should have just left right then but I'm still not used to this situation being so serious so I again explained that this could become very serious to the point of needing medical attention, in which the dog owner said in an angered voice that she also has a health condition that required her to have the dog, that it was a "service" dog and she has a card for him. I pointed out that he wasn't wearing a vest as is required for a real service animal and service animals do not run up to strangers and lick them while they are working. The nail tech that was working on the woman and another tech from across the room immediately started to side with the dog owner, one of them saying she has allergies too and in my exasperation, I continued to explain that this is a very serious health situation that could require medical attention. It took way too much effort to convince at least the one tech from across the room that this was not safe and I was getting ready to leave the salon when the tech went over and had a discussion with the dog owner and a few minutes later came over to me and asked if it would be ok if they kept the door open for ventilation and moved the dog and her owner across the room to keep us spaced out as she was at a station close to me. I said yes, they offered me a mask and I immediately started my protocol for times I come in accidental contact. I enjoyed the rest of my appointment until I walked out to the parking lot where the dog owner stared me down in a threatening way. I pulled out and drove away with her still angrily staring me down. I don't think I'll be back in fear I'll come in contact with this woman again and don't want to chance it. I have an autoimmune condition that causes me to be hyper allergic to certain things, unfortunately dogs being one of them. It is very difficult living in the world like this but with a bit of consideration, it's at least so far, manageable. it would have been nice if the tech's would have asked the dog owner to manage her pet and not sided with the inconsiderate dog owner. The one tech did come around so I didn't have to leave but if was iffy for the first 15 minutes or so. read more

Finally got in to see Daniell, the business was closed due to Covid. I have been Daniell's client for a long time. I really missed getting a lash lift during the shut down. The business is very clean and safe. Everyone is required to wear masks and my temperature was checked upon arrival. I got a lash lift, tint and brow wax from Daniell. The lash lift is basically a perm of your natural lashes. It usually lasts me about 8 weeks. I can't wait to book a facial and a touch up for my lip shading which was done pre-covid. read more

Very frustrating experience scheduling a lash fill. Online system allowed me to book an appointment. After doing so the business contacted me and told me the person I booked with wasn't taking new clients and that the next available appointment would be in 2 weeks. By then I'll need a full set. I wanted to love this business as I've heard great things about them but was unsuccessful in trying to schedule with them. Definitely seems better to call this business vs using the online booking system to schedule to avoid any issues. read more

I got the BEST spray tan from Megan! I have been spray tanning for 20+ years and I have never had a tan that is more golden and evenly sprayed than what Megan did. I am fair skinned and most times end up orange no matter how much I have paid in the past, but not this time. Just golden. I'm still kinda shocked but surprisingly super happy! Megans bubbly, laid back personality makes you feel comfortable from the first minute you meet her!! This is super important if you're gonna be bending over in your birthday suit the first time you meet someone! She is meticulous and is sure to explain to you everything she is doing. She finishes your spray tan off by dusting you with a soft powder so you don't walk out feeling sticky. I received the basic spray and slept in it overnight, I was comfortable, didn't smell and my sheets were not stained, to me that equates to quality product. The Liv Beauty salon is clean, quaint and welcoming. I have purchased medical grade facial products there before but this was my first time going for any type of service.
