She was so helpful in explaining the process, recommending scents to try, and being patient while I smelled literally every fragrance in the place at least twice over. The whole studio is SO cute with their decor, and since it was my birthday (and we were the only ones in the studio--it was a Thursday afternoon), Alex allowed me to pick the music we got to jam out to. The candle making process is truly hands-on at Candle Land, so whatever you make is 100% on you! However Alex was super informative with letting us know which fragrances had mixed reviews from other patrons, and even went so far as to offer a redo if we used a certain fragrance and didn't like it once we mixed it with another. It was so fun mixing the fragrances and finding that perfect balance between the two that I picked! We also got to pick out "toppings" for our candles like different dried flower petals, glitter, and I got a special confetti since it was my birthday that I chose to incorporate throughout my candle. The whole process took just about an hour, and that was with me deliberating over fragrances for a majority of the time. You're able to hang around the area and pick up the candles once they fully set in 45 minutes, or return another day if you can't stay. I love that Candle Land advertises the vessels as refillable, and even offers a discount to return and create a new candle once yours is burned through! It's basically a gift that keeps giving :) Even if you don't return to Candle Land, the vessels are super cute and can be repurposed for a ton of other things. We arrived a few minutes early; and the door was locked until about 12:05 when we had a 12:00 session scheduled. (This was one of the only drawbacks because it was about 90 degrees out on a Saturday at noon.). Once we were let in; things went really smoothly. We picked our scent combination and some dried flowers. Kerykay explained each step carefully and we all chose different scents, flowers, and colors of wax. The entire process only takes about 60-90 minutes. There were lots of board games we could have played while we were waiting; but we decided to go to lunch instead and come back in about an hour when our candles would be ready. Our candles were ready when we returned, but again we had to ring the bell multiple times & actually call by phone before we were let in. It seems to be a one-employee operation. I do think everyone was happy with their finished products so I would recommend Kerykay Candles if you're looking for a unique outing in South Florida.

Parking is a bit of a challenge as it's limited to the outer edge of the store. People double park on the side street, so if you've parked there your car would be blocked in. The store is located in a mixed use area. That being said, you'd think that the prices of their merchandise would reflect the needs of the community. Instead, prices were higher here than at any other Salvation Army we've ever been in. In fact, in some cases, prices were close to the full retail of new items. We did not buy anything here. And we would not recommend your going out of your way to come here.
