We met with their lead salesman, Colin, and he was fantastic. He was clear, open and honest and told us exactly what we should expect to see. They used a really cool 3-D modelling software (super modern!) that allowed us to plan out exactly how our deck would eventually look in our actual backyard. I didn't feel "up-sold" at all and it was super cool to see and hear all the options that we could choose from in order for us to pick what would eventually look best in our backyard (we even kicked around the idea of including a half-pipe for skateboarding and a fireman pole to get from the upper level to the lower level which was super fun although my wife eventually kiboshed the ideas...). Scott and his staff were very helpful throughout the selection process, with Scott showing amazing patience and understanding as he helped us determine how much railing we would need, what panels should be rails and what should contain glass. They have all the parts in stock with the exception of the glass panels which just takes about three weeks to come in. Scott explained to us how to install the railing sections in amazing detail. Skanes General Contracting was the most expensive out of the quotes that we received for painting…read moreour living room ceiling and ensuite bathroom, but my wife really liked Jen, the operations manager, so we (mistakenly) chose Skane General Contracting. I am not sure why their company website prevented g****gle from creating a page description; therefore, not allowing comments/reviews to be seen or added ... https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/7489871?hl=en It took over a month to complete the work (4 Nov - 11 Dec 19), and the experience was very frustrating! Even though, all agreed upon and requested payments were paid promptly and on time. Jen, herself, is a nice person with her apologetic, professional sounding email responses. However, she is quick to point out what is in the Scope of Work and the clients obligations on the signed contract including payment, but doesnt deliver the finished service in a timely manner. Once the substantial work money requested was received - I heard nothing from her for over a week - and only after I initiated my concerns again. I found it hard to reach Jen directly by phone and I had to leave messages on her answering machine. Skanes General Contracting lack of professionalism with slow communication also included a same day work cancellation. The actual work done by Skanes General Contracting lacks care and detail. Please refer to photos which include missed areas and hardened paint drips, and is definitely not worth what they charge.
