I was happy having my first son treated there and would have stayed until my younger son had a raging toothache. Crying after he ate, the works, he was in a lot of pain. He had a lot of work to be done. The dentist recommended sedation (which is why I went to him with my first kid). The only problem was he didn't have anything for 2 months! His other office in San Bernardino (since he's only in town one day a week) was still 6 weeks out. After discussion, he would do the worst one that hurt him with gas sedation, but the rest would have to be under general anesthesia. I had to shop around and found that my son didn't need general, he did great with gas, and everything got done. Since I went to another dentist and didn't need general, it cost almost $1500 less out of my pocket. I would have never known how much more the charges are here without having to look somewhere else.

I brought my two year old in for a dental check up, before I made the appointment I let them know ahead of time that my son was not comfortable and may scream. The receptionist said that was no problem. During the appointment, my two year old was screaming, as expected. Dr. Salamati then turned to me and said "Is he autistic?". Surprised by this question, I replied "no" as he has not been diagnosed nor screened for this. Continuing the appointment, Dr. Salamati, kept making the comment to my son "If you keep screaming, you're not getting a toy". This was said a few times. After the exam, she told my son "Since you screamed the whole time, you're not getting a toy!". After explaining the findings of the exam, she then turned to my son and said "OK! Are you ready to pick out a toy?!" I do NOT feel this interaction or type of communication is acceptable. This made me very embarrassed and uncomfortable I went back and forth making this review, but I feel it is necessary as a provider should NEVER make parents or patients feel that way. However, the specialist visits have been frustrating. The Patients are asked to arrive 15 minutes early, but I waited almost an hour and only then found out the doctor was in surgery. Since surgeries can run longer than expected, it would help if patients were told about delays ahead of time, especially when the specialist is only available at the office about two days a month. In addition, why schedule surgeries the same day of examination?
