The appliances are dated. Fridge freezes your drinks. Old electric stove. If location is consideration, it's great spot. If service is important, I'd go to a more mainstream spot.

(Delayed posting - this is regarding a trip in February 2022.)…read more While we didn't stay at the inn, four of us went for both a meal, and (on a different day) massages. We have been here before (for the spa - restaurant was closed during COVID, when we were last there), and were thus return customers for the spa, and first-timers for the restaurant. The meal was really good; definitely good value for money (though it wasn't cheap). If you have vegetarians (like my spouse) in the crowd, the "hippie/draft dodging" history of Galiano Island means you have some pretty great options. LOVED the soup! Everyone left full, and happy. As for the massages, we all agreed they were simply TERRIFIC! Notably, Linda (who was my masseuse) gave me the best massage I have received. (I am sufficiently spoiled to have had a few...) Seriously, will plan my next trip around Linda's availability.

Small bites appetizers like chicken souvlaki, eggplant Mediterranean goulash, shrimp spring roll, bulgur veggie salad & spanakopita was what the doctor ordered! Yes!!! We were blessed here & absolutely would return if ever in the area again!!! So beautiful this area!!! If flying to Canada from USA do the ArriveCan app. It made going through Canada immigration line more smooth & quicker. We didn't have to stop at an actual agent except to exit the immigration area. My wife booked the suite & we got access to the lounge as well. So we would love to return. Maybe for 2 nights next time!!! This was a beautiful hotel. And soundproofed too as well as being luxurious. Just wish our bodies could sleep better in an unfamiliar area. They even had a microwave with a refrigerator too! We were so surprised with that addition. Gotta love it! Oh almost forgot the deep soaker jacuzzi tub too as well as a full shower!!! That was a nice added bonus! I noticed too you can use this hotel for day use! Wow that's totally a gift!!! Wish it was in our city. They do have a pool & health club too! My wife booked this hotel bc it was rated one of the best airport hotels in the world. And they were right! Totally!!!

Stayed here for two nights when I came to Nanaimo for a workshop. We parked up front to check in…read moreand unload our bags before they gave us a parking slip and directed us to the parking lot located around the corner. Parking is free for those staying at the hotel, which was nice, seeing as the lot we parked at charges $4/hour. As of December 13, 2019, this hotel is currently being renovated to be upgraded. They're starting with the upper floors and making their way down. If you happen to be placed in one of the rooms on the fourth floor, the may be a remaining strong odour of paint. My colleague ended up switching rooms because the smell was so overwhelming. In comparison to the fourth floor, the lower floors aren't as modern looking. My colleague and I both stayed in different floors (myself on the fourth and they were on the first) and I found the bed to be too soft while she found it to be a bit lumpy. The walls and the doors aren't very soundproof, so if there's someone talking loudly on their phone next door, be prepared to hear everything. The same applies for loud individuals walking by on the streets outside, you might be woken up by them depending on how loud they are late at night. Heads up: the TVs they have are being upgraded and currently don't have HDMI cable options, for those who want to bring their own devices to plug in and watch shows. Each room comes with a complimentary fridge and they also have a microwave on the lower floors available to guests in case anybody wants to warm anything up. The rooms also have many wall plugs and two USB plugin options by the bed. There was also a Keurig machine available in the room, and complementary cookies and tea at the check in counter. My favourite part of the hotel room was the bathroom and showers - I really appreciated how the shampoo/conditioner/lotion was in reusable and refillable bottles. The water pressure in the shower was awesome, although the water flow sound was shriekingly loud. Complementary hot breakfast is available from 6:30-10:30am, which is great if you need to save money, but be forewarned, it seemed like a lot of their food was quite processed. My colleagues and I found that the breakfast didn't sit as well with our stomachs, so we passed on the next morning. The customer service was phenomenal and we so appreciated their staff here! They checked in on us whenever we walked by and when we were having our breakfast. If I was reviewing based on customer service alone, they'd be getting 5/5! Alas, there are many other things to consider when deciding to stay at a hotel. Should I visit again, I might consider staying here once more, but it'll realistically be dependent on whether they're done renovations and have finished upgrading everything.

We extended our stay by a few days and they were extremely accommodating and even offered to switch us rooms with an ocean view. However, the headache of moving our bags didn't make sense to us. The room was clean and has everything you need. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was alright. The AC was my favourite part because it was operated via a remote that offered multiple options for the flow of air and timing. The TV channels were good for us and the bed was average. Heads up, the elevator is right by the check-in counter. Do not make the mistake I did by not spotting it, walking past it, and carrying my luggage up five flights of stairs.
