The course itself was not the most interesting or challenging, and some holes were repeats of others, but it was well maintained and easy for children to pick up. Plus, for $3.50 per ball you can't beat it! I had a butterscotch milkshake and drank it so fast I can't really remember how it tasted. Must have been delicious though. It all started on a smoky, 87 degree Saturday in July when our camping plans got a rain check and we were open for a good time. Big Mini Putt Club was initially discussed but nixed because we weren't feeling the downtown vibe or $12 a person/9 holes. Then, we looked up AJ's mini golf but they had a private event scheduled. Yelp suggested Double Dip and after one ring, the employee on the telephone sold us with $3.50/person for 18 holes and recommended we come before 7p (thanks for the tip!). We parked, watched the first half of England vs. France at Walker Roadhouse and walked right over to the Depot. The course was perfect (no waiting around and lots of shade) for our 4 year old who got her first hole in one on the 15th! The ice cream/cone of ice came out quick (no line either) at 6:30p and we had our choice of picnic tables with umbrellas to enjoy. Overall, great family date night! We rarely frequent the west side, besides for the zoo, but will have to plan another trip before the summer ends. The grounds next to the course could use some maintenance, the old play scape from the event center is scrapped back there leaving kids wondering if they can play. There should be bathrooms at the clubhouse accessible to golfers; they could also do with the clubs and balls being available at the grounds on the weekend vs at the shop.
