"Yea--another Free Library box in Dublin!"…read more I happened to be driving past this pretty street and noticed the surprising book box across the street from the Presbyterian Church. The box has small Christmas lights on the edges. I'll have to come back here at night and see if it really lights up. The day that I visited the box had all kinds of books, both kids as well as adults. I left them a brand-new hardcover book. This box was created by our local girl scout troop. At first, I wasn't sure if it was a Girl Scout or Boy Scout Troop but I looked it up on the internet and it is indeed a Girl Scout Troop. Bravo bravo! The library appears to be quite old, but seems to be holding up pretty well. Thank you Girl Scout Troop 32255 for setting up this nice little box!

But don't steal any of the fruit from the orchard!

There was a wide assortment of books all the way from juvenile to adult. Keep in mind that you can't legally park right in front of the box. However, you can park across the street. Thanks to the graduating class of 2019 for creating such a wonderful book box for the community!

"Variation on an Original Theme?"…read more Recently, the city of Dublin commissioned 12 new Little Free Library book boxes in city parks. Not to be outdone, some creative residents in San Ramon have built their own Community Book box-- but even better! This "book box" is just like other community book boxes, but instead of books, there are balls and sticks and frisbees. It's on the honor system of course. So if you snag a ball, please leave another one. It doesn't have to be a new ball, but just not overly slobbery. Ditto for exchanging sticks or frisbees. Bravo to these creative, wonderful residents in our local community.

How Conservatives won the Heart of American" (Thomas Frank) -in it's infancy, Kansas was an anti-slavery state. they literally had battles with pro slavery Missouri. "Catch that Leprechaun!"…read more The city of Dublin recently commissioned about a dozen new Little Free Library book boxes. They are each placed in a community park within the Dublin city limits. This box is painted with bright pastel colors. The back is especially beautiful, and features brightly colored bookworms. Here's a special feature I've never seen on any other book box: There is a chalkboard on one side, apparently for new vocabulary words. What a fantastic idea! Next time I'm bringing some chalk, and will list incredibly difficult vocabulary words, just to show off. This little book box is located right in the center of Shannon park. You can't miss it. Here's a secret tip: There's another library book box right across the street, in front of St Raymond's.
