He went to a church preschool/daycare at first because they were the only ones in town taking kids his age. I came into the church 3 times seeing 20 - 3 year olds with one student supervisor or teacher. I was not impressed and when asked about it the director said they were not required to follow the ratio laws for kids:adults in a room. I highly disagreed, so reluctantly we had to move our son out. We then used a really small childcare and the teacher was wonderful, but the 6 students were all different ages and our son was not enjoying playing with babies or older kids. My son cried every morning he had to go to school. It was a horrible nightmare for his dad and I. We had our oldest son in preschool in California for two years and it was always a constant battle with the directors. The teachers were constantly coming and going. So at this point our preschool experience hasn't been so great for both of our children. Finally!! Carey called and she had an opening. We moved our 3 year old son into her childcare in November 2018. We have never been so impressed. It is very clean. The teachers are amazing and my son has been moved into the 4 year old preschool class during this time. I have lowed all 4 of his teachers. When we come in we are greeted and when we leave there is always a goodbye. It is SIMPLE. I don't have to walk forever to get him to class, the parking is right in front of the door (helps a ton when you have other children in the car or in a carrier). My son loves to go to school and never had a hard time, even the very first day. After 3 months of him crying, this was a HUGE relief! Carey is wonderful, she has great teachers who have been there a while and or have bachelors to master's degrees in education. The tuition is standard and reasonable for a childcare of this size and cleanliness. There is no where else you will get care from 7am - 530pm with all their food included for $28.00 a day. Childcare is a hard bill to swallow for working parents, but $28.00 a day to know that you child is happy, fed, learning, and safe is WELL WORTH IT and way cheap. That's only $2.67 an hour! My child never comes home covered in food, crafts or has a gross face or nose. He is always very clean. This place is great and I would recommend getting on the waiting list as soon as you know you want to put your child in care or pregnant!

She claimed that my daughter Jasmine had head lice. She insisted that I must immediately pick up my daughter. So I called my mother, and my sister; however, no family member was willing to deal with the head lice situation. Therefore I had no other choice but to call off work. I picked up my daughter, and immediately brought her to our family doctor. Both the doctor and nurse examined Jasmine's hair and scalp, and concluded that Jasmine did not have head lice; SHE ONLY HAD DANDRUFF! Therefore, I brought my daughter back to the Wee Care Day Care, and presented the doctor note. The day care manager insisted that Jasmine's doctor was wrong, and the manager re-examined my daughter's hair! She then pointed out the dandruff flakes, and claimed that was HEAD LICE, AGAIN!!! This terrible situation cost me my job, and due to my job loss, and being a single parent (divorced) I had a struggle with paying my rent, and consequently we were evicted!!!

La Petite in Chesterton is close to home and the only one that I felt comfortable with leaving my 3 mo old. The infant room staff is great. They take great care of the children and care for them as their own. I can't yet speak of the other classes. I do agree that the staff turnover is higher than expected, but so far everyone has been outstanding. I love being able to see my little guy on the camera anytime I want and it is great to see his daycare routine, as I try to follow the same one at home. Sleeping at daycare has been challenging from day one given the noise, light and overall stimulation. And when I expressed my concerns to the staff, they were extremely open to trying anything to help him sleep, including a white noise machine which seems to work. Overall, great daycare with caring staff and great use of technology that keeps me in the loop regarding my child's care.

On the second day he was their, he came home with a knotted bruise on his forehead, we're still waiting on a video of what happened. He was also yanked to the floor while walking towards the kids. They kicked him out and I was not sure what to do. I had to find a new quality place, quickly. I also did not know if this was going to be an ongoing issue and continue to get worse or if it was something that if handled correctly would work out well. I signed him up for a program at another facility and they informed me that they did not have a summer program, just fall. Luckily, I found Valparaiso Christian Academy for the summer. I was happy that it was a smaller facility and smaller class sizes. My son had a rough start and it took him a few weeks to get on track but the teachers and staff there and very patient and kind and have really helped him. After the initial few weeks, he has only had a handful of bad days the entire summer because they were patient and handled him very well. After seeing medical professionals he has been diagnosed with ADHD. Had I known about or visited this facility before signing him up for the one this fall, I would not have to move him again. I would recommend this preschool program to anyone looking into preschools and I plan on going back again for next summer. Thank you Valparaiso Christian Academy !

To echo the other reviews .. this facility is NOT LICENSED by the state of Indiana. They are…read moreunlicensed but registered with no accreditations or PTQ level. The last state inspection showed 9 employees without background checks (the director said it was a mistake) but if you check Indiana website for the report you can see it. I paid a deposit under false pretenses and the director refuses to give it back because it was needed for "supplies" for my infant. As parents, we were told to supply everything. I'm very disappointed in the practices here and the fact that they aren't truthful. Huge red flags. Not to mention, the infant classroom I observed broke the ratio of 1:4 while I was there, they don't follow proper diapering procedures, and allow street shoes on the floors in the classroom where the children are constantly crawling and lying down (which made sense since almost all of them had runny noses and coughs). As a former childcare provider, I have high standards. After everything I uncovered I was very disappointed and uncomfortable sending my baby to this facility.

We got into a disagreement about what my child should be learn and she ended up cussing me out. Using every word in the book. My child was outside and someone else's child was still in the house listening to the whole thing. This woman is crazy and no one should leave their kids with her for more than one minute.
